Seeing that Gavin began to hold back his breath, Cain knew that he had to stop. "Gavin, listen carefully to my voice. When you hear the ticking of the clock stop, you'll wake up."

Brione hurried to her lover's side by the time he woke up. "Gav!"

Gavin was covered in a cold sweat and he looked like he had just woken up from a nightmare as he breathed for air.

"What happened, Cain?" Kimmy asked worriedly.

"This is the limit for tonight. We will have to continue with another session," he calmly said before he turned to Gavin. "Do you remember?"

Gavin pursed his lips. He could only recall the memory where he had dinner with his father, he couldn't remember the conversation Damiel had with the person on the other side of the call. When he tried to force it, he felt a pricking pain on his head, causing him to groan.

"Don't force it, Gav." Cain sighed.

"Whatever it is, we can still find out about what happened in the next session," Brione softly said, as she wiped his sweat with her handkerchief.

Gavin stopped forcing himself to remember and as he did, the headache went away. "We're so close… I can feel it…" he whispered under his breath. He lifted his head, leveling his gaze on Cain. "Thank you, Cain."

"Don't thank me yet. You'll have a few more sessions, thank me after you remember everything. For now, we all need to get some rest," Cain replied.

Shortly after the session, after chatting a bit more with Brione and Gavin, Cain and Kimmy left the palace. Another awkward silence filled the atmosphere around them, especially when they got in the car.

Kimmy couldn't complain this time because of what happened between them. This time, they were not drunk when they made out with each other. They were fully aware of it… except for… she was instantly clouded by her lust for him.

'Lust for him? What the hell are you thinking, Kimmy?' She scolded herself while she was driving.

"Have you always known that Cedric has a twin brother?" Kimmy was the first to break the silence between them when she asked the question.

Cain rested his elbow on the side before he looked at her and replied. "Yes, I have always known."

She scowled upon hearing his answer. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"You never asked," he replied back at her.

"Of course I will never ask you, I didn't know!" She retorted.

"It's not like it matters if you knew or not." He turned away from her and instead, he gazed out at the scenery they passed by.

Kimmy gritted her teeth. "It matters to me! I never knew that Cedric actually has a twin brother!"

Since childhood, Cedric had always been like a brother to her. It only frustrated Kimmy further when she thought that all this time, she wasn't able to recognize the man she saw as her brother.

Even if Gavin was Cedric's twin brother, she should have been able to notice the differences, right? Kimmy's shoulder shrank at the thought. Gavin was a total stranger to her and yet, she never doubted that 'Prince Cedric' right now was actually Gavin.

"We just recently found out about it," Cain confessed. If he wasn't the King's physician, he would have not been informed that Prince Cedric actually has a twin brother.

Kimmy sighed. There was no point in crying over spilled milk. Although she was sure that her next meeting with Gavin would surely be awkward since they were not close at all. Gavin was a stranger to her!

They arrived shortly at their place. After parking the car, both Cain and Kimmy entered the mansion.

Just as expected, everyone was already fast asleep with only the night duties guards walking around outside the mansion.

"If the one with us is Gavin, then where is Cedric, Cain?" Kimmy asked as they climbed up the stairs.

Cain's lips were stretched into a thin line. He hoped that he had the answer to that question but sadly, he didn't have one at all. "I don't know…"

Kimmy lowered her head. Of course he wouldn't know. If he did, Cedric would have been in the palace already.

"Will Uncle really be giving the throne to Gavin?" She asked by the time they stopped in front of his room.

Cain pivoted, turning to face her. "It's the only way. The King is in no condition to keep up his work. He's growing old and his health…" He paused and sighed. "We don't want to stress him out or else his health will deteriorate."

Kimmy sighed. She knew what he was talking about, she understood it very well. She could see how vulnerable her uncle was becoming because of what was happening. "I hope things will get better for them…"

Cain's gaze softened. He reached out and gently patted her head. "Things will become better for sure. Don't worry."

She arched her neck, leveling her sight to his. When she caught his gaze, she subconsciously held her breath back.

She was doomed. Kimmy knew she was especially when her heartbeat began to increase its pace. This time, she knew that she was attracted to the man before her… but she was never going to admit it.

"Thanks." She turned away from him and rushed towards the door of her room.

"Kimberly."

Hearing his deep, soothing voice calling her name in such a way suddenly made her heart skip a beat. Whenever he called her with such a tone in his voice, he never failed to make her heart jump!

Kimmy didn't want to face him, not when she could feel her cheek burning hot. Her face was probably at its deepest shade of red right now. She was embarrassed to face him. She didn't want Cain to see her that way so with her back facing him, she asked, "what?"

Seconds ticked by as silence enveloped them both before finally, Cain's soft yet low voice was heard.. "Good night."
