When Cain got out of his private room, Kimmy couldn't help but stare at him. Her eyes drew him in, sweeping over his broad shoulders and slender body. He was someone so attractive that made people stop and look at him every time he passed by. He was impossible to miss!

While looking at him, she realized his luscious lips had been stretched into a thin line, as if he was holding something back.

Her chest swelled as she took a big breath. It didn't matter if he was a few meters away, she felt a powerful attraction, a magnetic pull that came from him. She fought the urge to stare into his eyes. She didn't want him to notice the chaos he caused inside her. Aside from that, she didn't want to be teased so she hardly tore her gaze from him.

"Get ready, we'll be leaving for the palace. I need to check on the King," Cain ordered as he walked towards his desk.

Kimmy immediately fixed her desk and waited for him.

As they headed out of the building, Cain was walking beside Kimmy.

An awkward silence surrounded the couple until they got in the car. As usual, Kimmy fastened Cain's seatbelt and while doing so, she didn't notice the way he stared at her since she couldn't help but worry about him.

What's wrong with Cain? Ever since he woke up from his dream, he had been avoiding looking at her. Was she that scary in his nightmare?

Cain, on the other hand, was being tortured by the dream he had about Kimmy. Images of her naked body, of their sweet pleasure, kept on flashing in front of him. Despite his calm appearance, he was frantic inside. His heart was pounding like crazy and his hands were sweaty.

Her intoxicating scent entered his nostrils when she leaned into him just to put on his seatbelt made things worse. He clenched his fists until his knuckles became white. He couldn't stop his body from reacting that way whenever she came close.

As she began driving, heavy air filled the car. Kimmy felt suffocated that in the end, she couldn't help but snap at him. "What's wrong with you?!"

Cain finally turned to her, raising a brow. "Huh?"

"You've been acting weird since earlier you know!" Kimmy growled. She had to keep her eyes on the road since she was driving.

"I'm not acting weird." He scoffed. "You're just overthinking."

She huffed and puffed her cheeks. She was not blind. Kimmy knew that something was going on with him. Even she couldn't help but wonder what it was but with Cain denying it, she didn't have a choice but to keep her mouth shut. It was not like she could force him to speak out.

Ever since she remembered the kiss they shared, it had been bothering her for a while to the point where she had been dreaming of that time. She subconsciously bit her lower lip while thinking of how his lips felt.

It so happened, Cain eyed her and caught this simple gesture. His eyes darkened and sudden excitement filled his chest. He was reminded of the wet dream once again. His eyes slowly traveled from her lips to her slender neck, down to her chest…

'Stop!' he snapped out of his dirty thoughts. He quickly averted his gaze from her before she could even notice it.

He heaved out a sigh as he massaged the bridge of his nose. This was not right. He should stop having inappropriate thoughts of her. How should he make it disappear? He should work on it as soon as he gets home later.

Upon arriving at Derhan Palace, both Cain and Kimmy went to the King's room to check on him.

As they entered, they saw the team of doctors Cain assigned to monitor the King.

"He is resting and sleeping now," one of the doctors informed Cain and he nodded as he proceeded towards the King on his bed.

While Cain was checking the vitals of the King, Kimmy stood quietly at the side of the bed with a worried look on her face. "How's his condition?"

"His vitals are stable." He sighed. "Since the Prince is here, His Majesty's health should become better."

Kimmy sighed in relief. She really hoped that her uncle would get better. He was someone close to her after all. He was not just a King in her eyes. He was more than that.

After Cain had examined the King, he left the room with Kimmy.

A servant was waiting for them. He received an order from Gavin to lead both Cain and Kimmy to the waiting room.

"You're going to meet Cedric after dinner, right?" She asked as she walked beside Cain. "Can we go out and eat?"

"There's no need for that." The servant politely said while walking down the hallway. "The Prince is expecting you so he has already instructed us to prepare your dinner. His Highness is currently busy so he won't be joining you both for dinner."

"Ah…" Kimmy wanted to avoid meeting her mother who surely was walking somewhere in the palace.

Noticing her gloomy gaze, Cain sighed. He shouldn't care if something was bothering her but his body had a mind of its own. He gently patted her shoulder. "Don't worry, if your mother comes, I'll take care of her."

Relief filled Kimmy's eyes as she stared into Cain as if he was her saviour. "Thank you…" she whispered with a grateful smile plastered on her lips.

His gaze warmed at her especially when she was giving him the impression of an adorable and yet, helpless bunny. He lifted his hand and was about to pat her head but when he realized what he was about to do, he held it back. She was right, he had been acting weird.

The servant stopped in front of the room and opened the door for them. "The food will arrive shortly. If you need anything else, you can inform me about it.. I'll just be outside if you need me."
