Cain didn't know what had gotten into him. Upon seeing Kimmy's lovely face up close and meeting her gaze, he was mesmerized and his mind went blank.

Unconsciously, his eyes moved on her lips and he suddenly felt the urge to kiss her so he leaned over to her. Their lips were almost touching each other. Then he saw Kimmy close her eyes.

He could kiss her there but at the last minute, Cain changed his mind. His inner self reminded him that the woman in front of him was the same person who abandoned him just one day before their wedding.

All the negative memories came flashing into his mind. He told himself that he should guard his heart against Kimmy. He was afraid that once he made a mistake, he would end up being abandoned again.

Though he was dying to kiss her, Cain controlled himself. He shouldn't give in to Kimmy easily. She was the one who should fall for him so hard, not the other way around.

It would be a dangerous move to kiss Kimmy inside that room. They were alone in that room and he didn't know how long he could restrain himself. Instead of kissing her, Cain decided to tease her.

He just stopped while staring at Kimmy with his conceited smile. He enjoyed seeing Kimmy's reaction right now. She closed her eyes with her parted lips as if she was waiting for a kiss to happen.

'Not now, my princess. This is not the right time for that.' Cain thought to himself.

He leaned in her ear and whispered, "Kimberly, are you waiting for me to kiss you?"

Kimmy's eyes snapped open after hearing his deep voice. Then she saw Cain smiling cheekily at her. The blood rushed into her cheeks. She was so embarrassed as she felt like Cain just played with her.

"Waiting for Kiss?! No way! You're delusional, Cain!" Kimmy snarled at him, pushing Cain away from her.

Cain let out a husky laugh before putting his finger on Kimmy's lips to silence her. "Shhh, be quiet. Your Mom might hear your voice."

Kimmy was fuming in rage right now. Cain just annoyed her. She wanted to rip off that smile on Cain's face.

Glaring at Cain, Kimmy caught his hand and suddenly bit Cain's finger that was sealing her lips.

"Ouch! Kimberly!" Cain screamed in whispers as he watched Kimmy in disbelief.

How could she bite him just like that? Was she trying to test his self-control right now? Biting his finger sent shivers down his spine. He suddenly felt a goosebump.

Seeing Cain's dark expression, Kimmy released his finger before sticking her tongue out at him. Kimmy moved away from Cain, afraid that he would try to get even at her.

Cain just looked at her helplessly while shaking his head. 'Damn! I knew it. This woman will be the death of me someday."

"Just stay here and wait for my signal. I will tell you if your mom leaves." After saying that, Cain immediately left the room before he could do something to Kimmy.

Cain proceeded to the living room to greet Leila and his father properly. He was not able to do that a while ago since he was helping Kimmy to hide from her mother.

After talking to Leila and his father, Cain went upstairs to change his clothes. While walking, Cain unconsciously bit his finger which Kimmy had bitten a while ago. He even tripped on the stairs when he realized what he just did.

'Cain, get a hold of yourself!' He scolded himself inwardly.

After a few minutes, Kimmy got bored inside the room. Cain didn't return yet so she knew that her mother was still there.

Kimmy stomped her feet. She was already bored inside. She was also curious about what her mother and Uncle Daniel were talking about right now.

She decided to go out and listen to their conversation. The room where she was hiding was just close to the living room where Leila and Daniel were having a conversation.

She walked slowly and cautiously approached them, hiding in the wall near the staircase. It seemed that Kimmy was in perfect timing since she was the topic of their conversation.

"I don't know what to do to that rebellious daughter of mine. Imagine, she ran away from home and went to a foreign country and became a bodyguard! For goodness's sake, she is a princess! A royal blood. What if something bad happened to her? Kimmy always makes me worried."

Leila vented out her frustrations while Daniel was actively listening to her.

"That's the reason why I want to secure her with a good man like Cain. I would be at ease if she would settle down with a man different from her father."

"I know I am a little bit selfish and inconsiderate of her feelings. I didn't ask her nor consulted her and so everything ended up like this. We have wronged Cain and your family. I am still feeling bad about what happened."

"Stop apologizing, Leila. Everything happened in the past now. It's not your fault?I'm not blaming you nor Kimmy. The important thing is Kimmy is back for good. Just give her time and be more patient with her. I believe Kimmy has already changed. She is no longer the same Kimmy before. She is more mature now."

Daniel tried his best to console Leila. He couldn't tell her that Kimmy was trying her best to make it up for them. She was there living in the Lewis's mansion now, taking care of him and Cain. He knew that Kimmy was taking responsibility for what happened in the past.

Leila heaved a frustrated sigh. "Sigh, if only Kimmy gave Cain a chance to get to know him. I still believe that Cain is a perfect candidate for being a good husband. Such a waste, Kimmy let go of the chance of getting an amazing man like your son."

Kimmy was so engrossed in listening to her mother's ranting that she failed to notice that Cain was descending from the stairs. Cain already saw Kimmy's figure hiding in the wall near the staircase.

A mischievous smile flashed on his lips as he slowly approached Kimmy, tapping her back.

Kimmy's heart jumped out of her chest because of Cain's sudden arrival from behind. She almost screamed, fortunately Cain quickly reacted by covering her mouth, or else, Leila and Daniel would have heard her voice.

"Playing spy, aren't you? I think running away, hiding and eavesdropping are your best talents, Kimberly." Cain whispered to her.
