Book 3: Chapter 5: The Correct Way to Use the Attraction Ability
Forming a contract with a Master was straightforward. Soon, Chen Heng changed from a Masterless Servant to one supported by a Master; he no longer had to worry about mana. Although Fujimaru Ritsuka was not very talented, she had backers. Chaldea could convert electricity into mana to supply to Chaldea’s Servants. All the Servants who signed contracts with Fujimaru Ritsuka would receive mana from Chaldea’s headquarters.
“Ritsuka, can you check this Heroic Spirit’s Servant status screen?”
“Oh, sure. Let me take a look. This Heroic Spirit is a Ruler. His true name is He Who Knows Fate. His parameters are…also, his Personal Skills and Noble Phantasms…”
“The parameters are quite good; it’s just that his luck is a little low. Also, there’s that Justice from Heaven Noble Phantasm. “According to history, France was the first nation to have freedom and equality for all men. Later on, other nations imitated it. However, if this right gets delayed by one hundred years, civilization will not move forward because of it, pausing there. If this right was not acknowledged, we might still be living like the Middle Ages. This is indeed a major matter that can form a Singularity. Also, is that Jeanne d’Arc Alter another aspect of Saint Jeanne d’Arc?”
“You are asking about Jeanne d’Arc Alter? That is a Servant created out of nothing, a fake created by someone using a Holy Grail. Furthermore, they managed to use the Holy Grail to summon a group of Servants and the evil dragon Fafnir. Using Fafnir’s control, they created many wyverns.”
“Ah! A Holy Grail. That explanation makes sense.”
“There’s also the information on the enemy Servants. I’ll tell you about them when we meet them.”
After the conversation, Chaldea’s group decided to head to the fortress the French soldiers went to.
When Chen Heng and Chaldea’s group arrived at the fortress, they saw a group of wyverns and skeleton soldiers besieging it. Furthermore, the French soldiers were already exhausted and retreating. The only reason the French soldiers had not yet been routed was a golden-haired Servant brandishing a flag.
“Master, Mash Kyrielight applying to fight.”
“Go on, Mash. Also, Mister Ruler, can you please help?” After receiving approval, Mash charged at the skeleton soldiers and the wyverns. Fujimaru Ritsuka asked Chen Heng to help.
“Of course I can, Master.” Since the little lady Mash was already fighting, he was naturally too embarrassed to remain idle.
“However, let me say this first. I’m a long-range attacker. I might be slightly weak at close combat.”
“Alright, alright.” Although Fujimaru Ritsuka nodded, she did not believe him, as there was the *Clan Sword Technique: B on the Servant status screen. Furthermore, Chen Heng’s parameters did not seem like a pure long-range attacker.
Chen Heng did not waste any words. He used his ability to fly to the skeleton soldiers. Seeing the wyverns flying in the sky like him, he immediately set up a gravity field and pulled them all down. Simultaneously, he gave the skeleton soldiers a debuff. The skeleton soldiers and wyverns moved much slower than before. However, the French soldiers, the golden-haired Servant, and Mash were unaffected.
Then, Chen Heng started using his attraction ability to burst the wyverns and skeleton soldiers like they were bubbles. The scene looked extremely bloody. Actually, this was how Chen Heng used his ability most of the time. Of course, he had not used it on living beings before. This attraction force could change the moon’s trajectory. What would happen if used on a person? This was a good example.
Chen Heng did not burst all the wyverns and skeleton soldiers immediately. On one hand, he had to conserve mana for the Master. On the other hand, he had to give Mash opportunities to gain experience. After all, Chaldea’s group would run into more challenging battles in the future. The enemies they faced would be stronger. If they did not cherish the opportunity to gain experience while the enemies were not strong, how would they face Goddess Lion King, the Three Goddess Alliance, Tiamat, and even Demon God King Goetia?

Truth be told, Chen Heng pondered telling these people to just kill Team A to prevent the matters in the second chapter from happening. However, he felt that Chaldea’s people would not believe it. Doing so might even ruin his friendship with Chaldea. Furthermore, even without Team A, there would be others. They could not kill everyone.
