Book 6: Chapter 34:2: Ryougi Shiki Finally Wakes Up! Part 2

A few minutes later, Chen Heng’s keen senses picked up a slight movement in Ryougi Shiki’s left pinky finger.

Root really isn’t reliable. If she had informed me just a few minutes later, I wouldn’t have arrived before Ryougi Shiki awoke.

I don’t believe that Root can’t accurately predict Ryougi Shiki’s waking moment. She must be too engrossed in having fun to care about the situation here.

As Chen Heng scrutinized Ryougi Shiki’s fluttering eyelashes, her eyes opened slowly. He immediately leaned in.

So, what were her eyes like? They seemed vacant, somewhat lost.

“You are awake.”

“You—” Cough! Cough! Ryougi Shiki attempted to speak in Chinese—a language she had learned when she had received her legal identification—but could only cough violently after a word, perhaps because she had been in a coma for so long.

Not panicking, Chen Heng transferred a trickle of Spiritual Energy into her to aid her gradual recovery. He was careful not to infuse too much, aware that her frail state could not handle a forceful restoration. Otherwise, there would be side effects. As the saying goes, one should not be nourished when weakened.

Her pale face soon gained a flush of color after the infusion of Chen Heng’s Spiritual Energy.

“Who are you? And who am I?”

“Huh? Shiki, you don’t remember anything? Your name is Ryougi Shiki.”

“Ryougi Shiki? Is that my name? It sounds familiar,” she said, struggling to sit up but finding herself weak. Despite receiving a trickle of Chen Heng’s Spiritual Energy, her body, weakened from a prolonged period of bed confinement, could not support her.

“Take it easy; don’t rush to get up. You’ve been unconscious for a long time, and it will be difficult to sit upright,” Chen Heng advised, pressing the call button at her bedside.

In a short while, a nurse hurried in.

“Ah! Mister Chen Heng, you’re back to visit your younger sister? Do you need anything… Wait, Miss Ryougi Shiki, you’re awake? Doctor! Doctor!”

The nurse started to greet Chen Heng but stopped abruptly when she noticed the previously vegetative Ryougi Shiki now had her eyes open. The nurse quickly dashed out of the room.

“…” This nurse is obviously young. Did she forget about the walkie-talkie clipped to her waist? Even I noticed it.

Shaking his head, Chen Heng adjusted Ryougi Shiki’s bed to make her comfortable, using his Absolute Precognition to find the best angle for her.

“I’m Ryougi Shiki. Who are you?”

“I’m your elder brother, Chen Heng.”

“So, do we have the same father or mother? Otherwise, why are our family names different?”

It looks like the situation is not that terrible. At least she still has some common sense.

“No, neither. You were adopted. For more details, try thinking ‘Dimension Administrators Association’ in your mind.”

“…A virtual screen appeared in front of my eyes,” Ryougi Shiki said, trying to touch it but realizing she couldn’t.

“You can enter a page after pressing this button. This is the chat interface of the association. Think about clicking it.”

The Dimension Administrators Association’s interface was visible to other association members. Of course, if one set it to private, others would not see it. Anyhow, this function allowed Chen Heng to guide Ryougi Shiki through every step.

“You can see it?”

“Yes. Follow my directions. Never mind…Just promise you won’t tell anyone you can access this interface. Trust me. I won’t hurt you. If you tell someone, they’ll think you’re crazy.” Chen Heng had intended to guide Ryougi Shiki step by step, but he heard many footsteps rushing toward Ryougi Shiki’s ward. It seemed that the nurse had summoned the doctors.

“Alright.” Although Ryougi Shiki didn’t recognize the man before her, based on what the nurse had said, this man was her elder brother.

Soon after, a group of doctors in white coats and nurses burst into the room and surrounded Ryougi Shiki so tightly that Chen Heng was pushed to the perimeter.

“Miss Ryougi Shiki, do you feel any abnormalities?”

“Miss Ryougi Shiki, you…”

Chen Heng took a couple of steps back to avoid the frantic staff. After all, a comatose patient awakening after two years was quite a sensation.

He Who Knows Fate: So, Ryougi Shiki’s awake, and she can open the Dimension Administrators Association interface.

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: Of course she has the Dimension Administrators Association interface. After all, this account is hers.

Kal’tsit: So, what’s the plan? Share an account or create a new one?

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: Let’s share one for now. It might be inconvenient, but it sounds like fun!

Workaholic Gil: This Root is becoming more human-like.

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: Right? Right?

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: To distinguish between us, I’ve decided to give myself a unique tag.

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki [Root]: Just like this.

“Ah!”

While browsing the chat group, Chen Heng suddenly heard Ryougi Shiki scream.

He turned to see all the medical staff backing away from Ryougi Shiki, who was clutching her head in agony.

While the medical team froze in shock, Chen Heng didn’t hesitate. He swiftly made his way to Ryougi Shiki’s side, pushing the doctors aside and asking with concern, “What’s wrong, Shiki?”

“My head hurts so much.” Ryougi Shiki’s cries slowly petered out. After clutching her head and swaying for a while, she calmed down.

“How do you feel now?”

“Now? I see lines everywhere—on the walls, the vase, even on the doctors and nurses, but not on you.” As she spoke, she ran a fingernail lightly along a line on a vase, which instantly shattered.

The startled Ryougi Shiki hastily retracted her hand. The doctors and nurses jumped in shock.

“…Could all the doctors and nurses please leave?” Chen Heng requested, turning to face the medical staff.

Chen Heng suspected Ryougi Shiki had awakened her Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. Given the context of Spiritual Energy Resurgence, ordinary people would instinctively see this as an ability awakening. While not entirely abnormal, it was definitely problematic.

“Mister Chen Heng, right? If nothing unexpected happened, your younger sister may have awakened some ability. Perhaps it’s related to her two years in a coma? We’d like to continue observing Miss Ryougi Shiki. Her sudden headache might not have been a coincidence. It’d be best for us to examine her thoroughly to prevent any mishaps.”
