Book 6: Chapter 12:1: A Fate Where Tohsaka Sakura Still Exists, Part 1

Solomon: I’ll take over the explanation, as they are currently busy. We’re off to stay at Tohsaka Rin’s place—yes, that re:lifer—for a few days. From what I heard from Chen Heng, we’ll be staying there until the Holy Grail War ends.

Faillen Angel Gabriel: The re:lifer Tohsaka Rin? She’s still a child, so…

Blank Never Loses: Don’t ever let her off.

Faillen Angel Gabriel: Boss, you…

Blank Never Loses: Sorry, force of habit.

Kal’tsit: So, what’s the deal with Chen Heng and Sirin?

Solomon: Those two…Chen Heng is keeping Sirin entertained with a thrilling rollercoaster ride using his attraction ability.

Kal’tsit: I wish I could join… Are they hugging each other?

Solomon: Yes, indeed, they are.

Doctor Roman and the Queen of Sheba sat side by side, silently watching Chen Heng and Sirin’s enjoyment of the sudden movements.

Doctor Roman couldn’t help but admit that young people had their ways.

Soon, Doctor Roman felt the Queen of Sheba’s hand reaching for him. Their fingertips touched, and he instinctively pulled away, turning to look at the Queen of Sheba. Although she didn’t say anything, he saw her ears droop. This…is astonishing! No, that’s not what I should be thinking about now.

After a moment’s thought, Doctor Roman reached out and took her hand. She looked up at him, and they exchanged smiles, holding hands while enjoying the night scenery as if nothing had happened.

Actually, this feels pretty good.

Magus of Flowers: Doctor Roman, get ready. I’ll be visiting you in a few days.

Doctor Roman’s mood soured in an instant. He glanced at the chat group’s posts and then at the livestream Yakumo Yukari had set up exclusively for adult members of the association.

Merlin is currently wrestling with the Sinsacks. That seems about right, but why does he still have the energy to harass me?

Solomon: Yakumo Yukari, don’t you feel your punishment is insufficient? Merlin still has the energy to court death.

17-Year-Old Beautiful Young Lady: Rest assured. I absolutely won’t let Merlin disturb your peaceful life. Sinsacks, let’s liven things up.

Magus of Flowers: …

Solomon: Thanks!

Chen Heng flew while bringing along the others, and they soon reached Tohsaka Rin’s current residence. After all, flying using attraction forces was bound to be quick.

“Doctor Roman, Sirin, wait here for a moment. I’m going in to find Tohsaka Rin and discuss things with her first. I’ll be back shortly.” Chen Heng informed the two first before stepping into the small, three-story building using his spatial ability.

You could tell the Tohsaka House was wealthy just from this expensive, three-story, Japanese-style house. Of course, as the land administrator of Fuyuki City, Tohsaka Tokiomi owned a vast amount of property there, quite the local tycoon. Unfortunately, Tohsaka Rin would always worry about money in her adulthood.

After the Fourth Holy Grail War, the Tohsaka family would still be wealthy, despite the loss of the head of the house, Tohsaka Tokiomi. The properties would be left to Tohsaka Rin. After all, neither Kotomine Kirei nor Golden Glitter cared about the wealth of the Tohsaka family. Kotomine Kirei was only interested in pleasure, and Golden Glitter didn’t bother with such material things. After all, who could be richer than Golden Glitter?

Because of Kotomine Kirei’s disinterest in managing the Tohsaka family’s wealth, it would dwindle rapidly under his guardianship of Tohsaka Rin.

This would be exacerbated by the fact that the Tohsaka family’s Magecraft was Jewel Magecraft, which was essentially a money pit. Jewel Magecraft, simply put, involved burning money; it was a competition of wealth. This pushed Tohsaka Rin further into poverty.

[TL Note: Jewel Magecraft essentially stores Magical Energy in gems, turning them into one-time-use batteries. The properties of the gems can influence the Magical Energy. Here’s more information about Jewel Magecraft: /wiki/List_of_Magic_Spells#Jewel_Magecraft.]

Chen Heng had a clear view of the house’s layout through the Absolute Precognition and knew that Tohsaka Rin was currently pondering how to get involved in the Holy Grail War.

However, he needed to deal with her mother, Tohsaka Aoi, first. The things Chen Heng needed to discuss with Tohsaka Rin were somewhat risky, and her mother might not agree to them.

[TL Note: Here’s more information on Tohsaka Aoi: /wiki/Aoi_Tohsaka.]

Chen Heng had a Master slot, which he planned to give to Tohsaka Rin. If Tohsaka Aoi learned her daughter was planning to participate in the Holy Grail War and vie for the Holy Grail with her father, Tohsaka Aoi would be in a difficult position.

The idea of Tohsaka Rin handing over the Servant’s command authority to her father was one Chen Heng refused to entertain. Regardless of her willingness, Chen Heng was resolute in his decision.

This authority would serve as the toll fee for Mo Qingtong and Luo Li’s travel into this world. Handing it over to Tohsaka Tokiomi would leave him uneasy, and that unease might lead him to eliminate its cause.

In any case, it was only a matter of days. If Luo Li and Mo Qingtong couldn’t come, it wouldn’t be a big deal.

Chen Heng employed his spatial ability to pop up outside Tohsaka Aoi’s room, then used it again to get inside. At that moment, Tohsaka Aoi was at her desk, engrossed in a book. A family photo of the Tohsaka family sat on her desk. It was clear from the scene that Tohsaka Aoi was a beautiful woman, intelligent, and loving to her family.

But why was Tohsaka Rin so aggressive, like a gorilla? She didn’t inherit any of her mother’s elegance!

Even after Chen Heng entered her room, Tohsaka Aoi didn’t notice anything unusual. Born into the Zenjou family, a line of Magi, she was just an ordinary person with a basic understanding of Magecraft, limited to knowing of its existence, with no Magic Circuits or Magecraft training.

Tohsaka Aoi’s bloodline still carried the Magecraft pedigree, although she was a commoner with no direct ties to Magecraft.

[TL Note: The Zenjou family was formerly a prominent Japanese Magian family. Unfortunately, it suffered a decline and no longer has an affinity for Magecraft. Here’s more on the Zenjou family: /wiki/Zenjou.]

Knowing this, Tohsaka Tokiomi proposed marriage to her. The result was the birth of two sisters with incredible Magecraft potential.

Unfortunately, this arrangement left Matou Kariya heartbroken. He had known Zenjou Aoi since childhood and had deep feelings for her. But Zenjou Aoi was taken by Tohsaka Tokiomi and fell into his embrace.

[TL Note: Here’s more information on Matou Kariya: /wiki/Kariya_Matou.]

Whether Tohsaka Tokiomi truly loved Zenjou Aoi or not remained a question, but his initial reason for marrying her was to produce suitable offspring.

Even so, after Tohsaka Tokiomi’s death, Matou Kariya would desire to step in, but Tohsaka Aoi would refuse him. A heartbreaking story, indeed.
