Book 5: Chapter 44:2: Another World Merger, Part 2

Just when Chen Heng thought he could finally rest, Customer Service contacted him out of the blue.

Chen Heng! Chen Heng! I’ve got good news for you. Your world is having another world merger.

“Good news? This doesn’t sound like good news to me.”

Don’t say that. At least let me tell you which world it is first.

“Which world?”

It’s Sirin’s world.

“…”

On his way back, Chen Heng had been mulling over Sirin’s return to this world. Transmigration was not as simple as paying 100 points for a one-way trip. Several factors needed to be considered: the time synchronization between worlds, the maximum duration of a stay in the same world, and so on.

For some reason, the association had stipulated that each member could not stay more than a month in another member’s world, and the interval between revisits to the same world had to be at least seven days.

Chen Heng was also concerned about the uniqueness of Honkai Impact 3rd’s world and his own, as both had association members, causing the time flows of the two worlds to match.

He worried that something might happen during the cooldown period after Sirin returned to her own world. What would they do then?

Furthermore, disappearing for seven days every month would be quite troublesome—like when Sirin started school.

Yes, Chen Heng planned to send Sirin to school, preferably to study physics. Since she had five Herrscher Cores of bug-level strength but did not know how to use them, Chen Heng planned to let her study properly.

In fact, Chen Heng intended to purchase a World Migration Certificate from the association’s store to change her world residency. In other words, if Sirin used the World Migration Certificate to become a part of Chen Heng’s world, she would belong fully to that world and no longer need to shuttle back and forth.

The only downside was that the World Change Certificate was a bit expensive—10,000 points.

Suddenly, Chen Heng felt that a sentence someone had said was very accurate: the chatterbox System 10086 really made a very cost-effective deal.

System 10086 had only spent 2,000 points but had made Chen Heng lose a lot.

Previously, Chen Heng had thought 2,000 points were quite a sum, as he had just joined the association and had not yet taken any assignments.

However, after some time and experience, he changed his stance. Babysitting a child for a month for only 2,000 points was definitely not worth it. He could easily earn those points within three days by completing a single task.

Thus, Sirin was incredibly lucky. She had a chatterbox system willing to spend points on her, and there was Chen Heng, who was a newbie back then.

Hey, why aren’t you speaking?

“What should I say? I have nothing to say,” Chen Heng responded.

To think I immediately told you after finding out about this news.

“What is this world merger all about? I do not believe it is merely coincidence.”

It’s not a coincidence. It was a minor request from your ancestor, one among many.

“Minor? What massive requests did my ancestor make for a world merger to be considered minor?”

Calm down. Cool down a bit. Honkai Impact 3rd’s world system is vast. Sirin’s world is just a leaf on the Imaginary Tree. This merger affects only Sirin’s world. It’s like your ancestor plucked a leaf from the Imaginary Tree and tossed it into your world.

[TL Note: The Honkai universe’s Imaginary Tree is similar to Yggdrasil from Norse mythology, where there was a world on each leaf of the tree. Here is more information about it: /wiki/Imaginary_Tree.]

“But what about the Honkai? It’s a periodic natural disaster. At the same time, it functions as the universe’s periodic regulatory system. It erupts every once in a while with no rhyme or rhythm to it, so it is hard to predict. It also kills off many of the predominant ruling species of a world. To a civilization of cultivators, that’s quite terrifying.”

What else can we do? Just chill out. Your ancestor made extremely demanding requests. This one is minor in comparison, so the Multidimensional World Consciousness Conference agreed quickly. As for the Honkai…it’s been turned into a conceptual-type demon god. You’ve got all sorts of supernatural beings in your world; what’s one more? I’ll send you the details later.

“Is the merger happening immediately?”

It won’t be that fast, as this is a manually induced world merger. There are a lot of things to handle, and the time needed isn’t certain. I’m just giving you a heads-up, so you’re prepared.

“Alright, alright, I get it. Give me some time to adjust. This is quite sudden.”

In truth, the timing could not be better. The world merger was an excellent move—just what one would expect from his ancestor.

Chen Heng was not too concerned about the Honkai, now remodeled into a demon god. His world had all kinds of supernatural beings, and one more demon god was not a big deal.

If one were to liken the Honkai to a demon god, there were some parallels between the hidden world individuals and the Valkyrie situation.

Chen Heng opened the file labeled World Merger Preparation Plan and Character Setting sent by Customer Service.

The file name was…straightforward.

The Honkai: A demon god formed from an energy known as Honkai Energy. Code-named the Honkai and fully named the Honkai Demon God, it is a conceptual demon god and extremely difficult to destroy. It acts instinctively most of the time and resides in a small plane called the Honkai.

This demon god often spreads highly infectious Honkai Energy globally, infecting ordinary people and turning them into its faithful servants, who would die for it.
