Book 5: Chapter 31:2: Sirin: Elder Brother, You Are Looking Down on Herrschers (Sob), Part 2

Welt exerted his last bit of strength to activate the Star of Eden in his hand. Suddenly, a tiny black dot appeared in the sky and gradually grew into a small, expanding black hole. Then a powerful suction came from the black hole.

Because Welt held the Star of Eden, the suction did not significantly affect him. He turned his head to look at Chen Heng and Sirin and discovered they were coping even better than he was.

Sirin looked at the black hole above with curiosity. Although it looked terrifying, its suction did not work on her at all.

Sirin looked at the contemplative Chen Heng and immediately understood what had happened. It would be strange if a black hole’s attraction would work on Chen Heng, who had an attraction ability.

Chen Heng contemplated the faux black hole and soon understood how to create it.

To create this faux black hole, one has to choose a point and collapse it with immense gravitational force or attraction force.

First, let’s try breaking down this faux black hole.

Chen Heng extended his right hand towards the black hole overhead, clenched it, and used his gravity control ability to create an inverse gravity field at the center of the black hole.

Actually, Chen Heng’s gesture did nothing. He was just used to gesturing as a mental trigger.

The faux black hole was initially stable and growing stronger, but it destabilized when Chen Heng messed with it. As he continued putting in some effort, the black hole scattered.

However, the strange thing was that such a tremendous commotion did not affect anything outside the black hole. Only the suction from the black hole disappeared; no repulsive forces ensued.

The main reason was that Chen Heng was on a completely different level from the imitation Star of Eden. That was why he could accurately match the black hole’s gravitational force.

The imitation Star of Eden in Welt’s hand crackled and shattered.

“Many thanks, Welt. I now understand how to make a faux black hole. Furthermore, don’t even think of asking me for compensation. I know you made this imitation Star of Eden using the Herrscher of Reason’s ability.” Chen Heng looked at Welt warily, worried Welt would try extorting from him.

“Don’t worry; I won’t. Also, how did you cause…how did you break down the faux black hole?” Welt waved, disavowing any plans to demand compensation. He did not wish to die young from failing at extortion. Dying like that would be too embarrassing, right?

“Let me show you. First, we need to create a black hole…” Chen Heng raised his hand, using gravity to collapse a point far from himself to create a powerful black hole singularity. Then he released his control over it.

The black hole singularity immediately enlarged, instantly forming a black hole over ten times larger in diameter than the one Welt made. Welt could not resist the force, getting pulled over.

Fortunately, the hand of Chen Heng’s attraction force holding Welt pulled him back. Like before, Chen Heng and Sirin were unaffected because of the attraction barrier.

“Erm…sorry about that. I placed the black hole farther away to prevent accidents and even held back on power. Unexpectedly, it is still this powerful. However, it does not matter. We just have to create an inverse gravitational field at the center of this black hole like this…and it scatters.”

Right after Chen Heng spoke, the extremely horrifying, enlarging black hole scattered without any wind. All the snow and trees pulled into the air by the black hole fell back to the ground.

“You… Are you the 9th Herrscher?” Welt asked incredulously.

“Damn! Don’t slander me! I’m not some Herrscher.”

“…Elder Brother, do you look down on Herrschers?” Chen Heng felt a tug on his sleeves. When he lowered his head, Sirin’s eyes were tearing up like she would cry at the slightest provocation.

“Sirin, what’s wrong? Don’t cry. How am I looking down on Herrschers?” Chen Heng became flustered.

“But your words just now were clearly contemptuous of Herrschers. I can even tell you are looking down on me. Do you disdain me?”

Actually, Sirin was a child lacking a sense of security. She had depended on her mother for survival, and when her mother died, she got sent to Babylon Labs. She had experienced hell here, and her friends’ passing away had a significant impact on her psyche.

Otherwise, why would Sirin long for Cecilia after interacting with Cecilia for just a few short days in an illusion in the original storyline?

[TL Note: Cecilia Schariac is Siegfried Kaslana’s wife and the mother of Kiana, who is the main character. She was an S-Ranked Valkyrie and Schicksal’s most powerful Valkyrie. In the Second Eruption, Sirin trapped Cecilia and Siegfried in an illusion where they became Sirin’s parents. Cecilia had seen through the illusion but played along, trying to be a mother to Sirin because she saw Sirin’s pain. You can read more about Cecilia and her backstory here: /wiki/Cecilia_Schariac.]

One reason was Sirin’s experiencing maternal love, which she had lacked for a long time, in those few days. Another reason was Cecilia’s hugging her in their final moments before they died in a nuclear bombardment by Schicksal.

Now, Chen Heng had taken over Cecilia’s role. His treatment of Sirin was no less caring than Cecilia’s. Setting aside things like cultivation techniques or the Mental Defense Ring, he had satisfied her desires for clothes, food, games, and other basic needs.

As Sirin embraced her newfound role as a Herrscher, she couldn’t help feeling conflicted over Chen Heng’s remarks. After all, it was he who had guided her to the colossal egg, the very catalyst of her Herrscher awakening. If he toyed with her like that, he would truly regret it.

“Sirin, Sirin, calm down first. What I meant earlier was that I cannot become a Herrscher because I am the Chen Clan’s last descendant. If my bloodline changed because of turning into a Herrscher, my ancestor would flay me alive. It is definitely not what you are thinking. Why would I disdain you?”

Chen Heng’s words were the truth. Before he knew his ancestor was still alive, he had considered becoming the Herrscher of Stars. After all, he felt it could strengthen his gravity ability. Of course, that thought occurred to him when he had just awakened the gravity ability and was not strong yet.

However, in the current situation, it was impossible for Chen Heng to become a Herrscher, never in his life. Becoming a Herrscher would not only alter his body but also seemed like it would not contribute much to his strength. Hence, Chen Heng no longer cared for it.

“Really? Elder Brother, you aren’t lying to me?”

“My precious, demanding younger sister, just think. When have I ever lied to you?”

“You already lied to me the first time we met, claiming me to be your adopted younger sister.” It looked like Sirin still dwelled on this matter.

“…That aside, there isn’t any other instance, right?” Chen Heng had indeed lied to Sirin in that matter. However, they had not known each other then. Who could have imagined their relationship would improve as they lived with each other? That could not be helped.

“That seems so.”
