Book 4: Chapter 66:1: A Dragon and Tigress’s “Friendly” Exchange, Part 1

He Who Knows Fate: Aren’t you coming to Lungmen after some time? I’m paving the way for you. Other things aside, it’s already a miracle that your negotiations with Wei Yenwu did not fall apart, given your eloquence. Now, the future has changed. So…my child, as your fa….nothing. I mean, I feel a little worried.

Efreet: Right, right. Although Kal’tsit is a calm, rational doctor and a qualified leader, she is absolutely not a diplomat. She is too straightforward and does not know how to feign civility. She needs to train more.

Kal’tsit: …

17-Year-Old Beautiful Young Lady: Kal’tsit, when you negotiated with Wei Yenwu in the game, you were too rash in your speech. Had that old fox, Wei Yenwu, been any rasher, your negotiations would have failed.

Kal’tsit: Everyone has their specialties.

“What? Swire, your family’s business empire really has a piano worth 1,800,000 LMD? Why don’t you just rob a bank? To think you sell a piano for 1,800,000 LMD! Looking for trouble? Who would look for trouble with you if they had nothing to do…. You char siu cat! *Lungmen vulgarity*! *Lungmen vulgarity*! *Lungmen vulgarity*! Where am I? I’m at that park near the Lungmen Guard Department. Come if you dare, you char siu cat! *Lungmen vulgarity!*”

[TL Note: Char siu is a style of Chinese barbeque. The meat turns out looking red. Here is the Wikipedia page on this method of food preparation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Char_siu.]

Ch’en hung up angrily and stomped back to Chen Heng’s stall.

“You see? There is a piano worth 1,800,000 LMD, like I said, right?”

“…I don’t have that much money.” This was the truth. Although Ch’en came from a rich family and was even Wei Yenwu’s niece, she currently only held the identity of Lungmen’s Special Inspection Unit Chief. She also did not have much contact with her family. While the Special Inspection Unit Chief position held eminent authority, it did not pay well.

And sometimes, Ch’en, Hoshiguma, and Swire would go drinking…erm…have a good meal, so she had little savings.

“Just wait for a while, then. Don’t think I don’t know why you told Swire your location.”

This little she-dragon was very scheming.

“Humph! This matter concerns the entire Lungmen. How can I be the only one paying? I found the method, so Swire will take charge of paying.” These two are truly enemies. Ch’en did not forget to trick Swire in the end.

“I say, He Who Knows Fate, you aren’t really an Aegir, right?”

“Madam Ch’en, you guessed right. Anyone with a brain would not believe I am an Aegir or a ridiculous lie, like I’m a killer whale.”

“…” Ch’en felt targeted. It occurred to her she had to properly investigate this armed operator, whose identity was unclear, after he completed the divination. How to investigate? Of course, by bringing him to the Lungmen Guard Department.

“Madam Ch’en, why did you go silent?”

“I have nothing to say.”

“Then don’t sit across from me. I still have to receive customers. Sit here.”

Chen Heng pulled out a stool from under the table covered in yellow cloth. Then he placed it beside him and gestured for her to sit there.

Of course, there were no stools under the table initially. I’m sure everyone knows how it appeared.

Ch’en looked at the sturdy table covered in yellow cloth. Then she stood up and sat beside Chen Heng. Perhaps she found it too close to him; she quickly stood back up and moved the stool a few steps away.

Feeling bored, Chen Heng took out some snacks from under the table and placed them on top. Ch’en tried some and found them pretty tasty. However, she felt more curious about what else was under the table.

Soon, Chen Heng received a new customer. This time, the customer was a male who looked like an innocent high-school student.

Ch’en, the Special Inspection Unit Chief, could only watch helplessly as Chen Heng cheated the innocent citizens. She could not take any action now, as she needed his help.

However, He Who Knows Fate did have some substance to him. Perhaps his love divinations were accurate.

“Remember, she will not come to school tomorrow because she has caught a cold. Send her a message during class to remind her to drink more hot water, as your girlfriend does not like naggy men. After school is over in the afternoon, go to her house. Remember to bring some fruits. When she asks why you are being so polite, reply, ‘Are you trying to tell me what to do?’ She likes men who are firm. Ask about her illness, and when she says her fever reached 38.5°C, say, ‘That’s all?’ Do as I say, and your relationship will go smoothly.”

“Thank you, Master. I’ve learned a lot. I’m going now.”

“Take care.”

Phew!

After sending off this customer, Chen Heng let out a drawn-out breath in satisfaction.

“He Who Knows Fate, are the things you tell them regarding their romance true?”

In the end, Ch’en could no longer suppress her curiosity, so she asked.

“Of course, it’s true. However, the results might be different from what I claim.”

“What do you mean?”

“I used a simple method to get that man to believe me earlier. You saw it for yourself. However, if that man does as I said, he will not be far from a breakup. Of course, because he already believed me, he will break up with his girlfriend after seven days and a series of coincidences.”

“…He Who Knows Fate, what kind of emotional trauma have you suffered? Why do you use such an ability to take revenge on society?”

“Madam Ch’en, while you can eat rubbish, you can’t speak rubbish. I do not get in the way of true love. Although that fellow looked quite innocent earlier, he would eventually become a scumbag. Of course, he would not feel he was a scumbag. Sparing a thought for his girlfriend, I gave him advice on life.”

“Aren’t you afraid of him coming to find you after they break up?”

“Don’t worry. The effects of the advice I gave all these people will happen at least seven days later. By then, they can no longer find me.”

“…”

The screech of a sports car interrupted the two’s conversation. Then they saw a car coming straight towards Chen Heng’s stall, rather at Ch’en, who was beside Chen Heng.

While Chen Heng’s location did not have high traffic, it was still not low enough for a sports car to travel at full speed; this red sports car was crawling.

Although a park was not suitable for a car to drive in, who was Swire?

“Rice noodle roll dragon, to think you dare to wait here?! You asked me the price of a piano out of nowhere; then you cursed me for no reason at all. You *Lungmen vulgarity*! *Lungmen vulgarity*!” The rich tigress of Lungmen launched into a “friendly” exchange with Ch’en as soon as she got off the car.

[TL Note: Rice noodle roll or cheung fun is a Cantonese dish. Both rice noodle rolls and char siu are commonly seen in the Canton region and Hong Kong, which was what Lungmen was based on. Here is the Wikipedia entry for rice noddle roll: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_noodle_roll.]

*Lungmen vulgarity*, you char siu cat, you curse me the moment you get out of your car. Are you looking for trouble?”

“You are making wild accusations! Who is the one who looked for trouble first?”

This was not just on the level of a “friendly” exchange; it was simply an eye-opener for Chen Heng. He had learned many vulgarities he had never heard of before.
