Book 4: Chapter 60:1: Chen Heng and Ch’en, Part 1

To no surprise, Penguin Logistics’s group won. But…

Chen Heng and the others were brought to the Lungmen Guard Department on charges of speeding, discharging high-powered weapons within city limits, vandalism, fighting, and illegal possession of weapons.

“Why? This is my first time in Lungmen, the city of commerce. I even have two friends with me, a double joy of mutual benefit. I should be wandering Lungmen with my friends. How did things turn out like this? Why did I end up in the Lungmen Guard Department on the first day?” Chen Heng lamented in some despair.

“Ah! This…He Who Knows Fate, don’t be too upset. Don’t worry. Our boss will get us out soon.”

“Exusiai, there’s no need to console me. I miss quiet. Don’t ask me who quiet is. I did not expect my first experience in Lungmen to be in the Lungmen Guard Department. This is simply terrible.”

“Ah Heng, there’s no need to be sad. Actually, being brought to the Lungmen Guard Department is nothing much. Kal’tsit will immediately communicate with them.” Influenced by Nightingale, Skadi had started addressing Chen Heng as Ah Heng.

“Skadi, you…seem familiar with this?” Now, Chen Heng felt that Skadi was like an old hand at this. Was it just a misperception?

“You have seen the way I fight. You probably can figure out I damage the surroundings when I fight. I sometimes end up getting brought to the law enforcement organizations to await a demand for compensation.”

“…However, we are not on official business this time.”

“He Who Knows Fate, I told you already, don’t worry. Our boss will get us out.” Exusiai patted Chen Heng’s shoulder, getting him to calm down.

“Exusiai, why is it you again? I just knew your Penguin Logistics would not remain quiet.” As Exusiai consoled Chen Heng, a blue-haired, red-irised figure came out of a neighboring office.

“Oh! It’s you, Madam Ch’en! It’s been a long time.”

Madam Ch’en’s full name was Chen Huijie, the Lungmen Guard Department’s Special Inspection Unit Chief.

“I don’t want to meet you in such situations. Can’t your Penguin Logistics be more peaceful? Are these three your new staff?”

“No way! Madam, you can blame us for this? They attacked us first. It’s terrifying, alright? They suddenly charged us, scaring us. We could only counterattack. Also, these three are Rhodes Island staff. They were on a break and wanted to visit Lungmen. Since I happened to be in Rhodes Island, I brought them along. Who knew such a thing would happen?”

“None of your Penguin Logistics’s people are honest people.” Madam Ch’en scanned the five for a target. They were seated there, awaiting interrogation.

“You then, that man. Follow me into the interrogation room.” Perhaps because everyone else was female, Chen Heng stood out.

“Ah! Me?” Chen Heng pointed to himself. He had not expected to be the first. The one who sped was clearly Texas, while Exusiai was the one illegally discharging firearms and high-powered weapons in the city. Why did Ch’en pick him to be first?

“What nonsense! You are the only man here. Stop wasting time. Hurry up!” This Madam Ch’en moved swiftly and decisively.

Chen Heng followed Ch’en into the interrogation room. This room looked similar to what he saw on TV. Then he self-awarely sat in the seat for the interrogatee, where there was nothing around.

“You are pretty familiar with this. A repeat offender?” Ch’en sat in the interrogator’s seat and looked at Chen Heng. Soon, another Lungmen guard entered and closed the door.

“Madam, please don’t wrong me. This is my first time in such a place. I’m a model citizen.”

“Your words are very interesting. Would a model citizen mix with Penguin Logistics’s people?”

“…Madam Ch’en, right? May I ask, what kind of company is Penguin Logistics to you?” Chen Heng suddenly felt that Ch’en was incredibly biased against Penguin Logistics.

“Penguin Logistics? They are a courier that frequently delivers dangerous goods. Penguin Logistics members are skilled at explosions, sniping, fighting, and armed confrontations. They resort to all means to deliver their goods successfully. Fights break out wherever Penguin Logistics goes. However, I have to say, their speed and security are top-notch.”

Hearing this, Chen Heng suddenly regretted getting Exusiai to be his guide. Back when he asked her to be his guide in Lungmen, he had not played much of Arknights and was unaware of Penguin Logistics’s reputation in Lungmen.

“Alright, let’s not waste time. First, your name.” Ch’en dealt with interrogation while the guard recorded everything.

“Chen…He Who Knows Fate.”

“Were you calling me earlier? What do you want?”

“Nothing. Continue your interrogation.”

“He Who Knows Fate should be a codename, right?”

“Indeed. Don’t people use codenames these days when they mingle?”

“Mingle? The underworld?”

“Nothing of the sort. Don’t make such accusations. I’m a proper Rhodes Island operator. Do you know Rhodes Island, that pharmaceutical company that does everything but pharmaceutics?”

“I’ve heard of it. Age?”

“18.”

“Birthplace?”

“Ae…Aegir.” Saying this still felt a little strange.

“Are you an Infected?”

“No.”

“Race.”

“Killer…killer whale.”

“…Killer whale? You aren’t lying to me, right?” Ch’en looked at Chen Heng with suspicion. She felt he was trying to fool her as if she was stupid.

“Why would I lie to you? That black-clad, silver-haired beauty outside the interrogation room is my kinsman.”

“Madam Ch’en, should I record it as killer whale?”

“Little Wang, just record it as such. Do you know what crime you committed, resulting in your capture and presence here?”

“Me? I did nothing. I only came to Lungmen for vacation, to see this city of commerce I’ve heard so much about. Coincidentally, Exusiai was returning to Lungmen from Rhodes Island. I told you earlier, I’m a Rhodes Island operator. Anyway, I hitched a ride with her. Who knew? Such a thing happened soon after we entered Lungmen. How miserable…”

When mentioning this, Chen Heng could not stop complaining about this matter.

“Stop! Stop! Stop! There’s no need to speak about unrelated matters.”

Suddenly, a guard knocked on the door, then entered the interrogation room and handed over a stack of information to Ch’en. “Madam Ch’en, Rhodes Island’s information is here.”

“Alright, you can go out first.”

Ch’en flipped through the information from Rhodes Island until she reached the page on Chen Heng.

“A Sniper? Then do you have a bow, crossbow, firearm, or similar weapons on you?”

“No. I’m here on holiday, not to fight. Why would I bring those things?”

“Little Wang, is that the case?” Ch’en felt unsure, so she asked the guard taking notes next to her.

“Yes. I did not find any powerful weapons on him.”

“Since that’s the case, your interrogation is finished. You can go out. Also, here’s a warning for you. If you really want to experience the wonders of Lungmen, don’t hang out with Penguin Logistics’s people. Otherwise, you will probably end up here again in a few days.”

“Alright, got it, Madam! Madam, I’ve already experienced what you are talking about.”
