According to folklore, a person's life flashes before their eyes in the form of a dream before their soul transitions to a new body.

However, my experience was unlike anything I had ever heard before. Instead of seeing my life, I witnessed the life of a young boy through his eyes.

In the dream, I saw a timid child, who despite possessing remarkable power, lacked the courage to use it.

As the dream progressed, the boy found himself in a violent confrontation with an opponent wielding a bloodied axe.

The vivid images of the dream were etched into my memory, as though they were my own experiences. Every detail of the boy's actions felt real as if my soul was merging with his.

The dream was not overly long nor was it brief, yet it felt like an eternity as I experienced every moment of the boy's struggle.

It left me with a sense of unfulfillment and longing as if there was a part of me that was missing, a part that I needed to discover.

As my eyes gradually adjusted to the bright light, I realized that I was lying on a hospital bed.

The sterile smell of antiseptics filled my nostrils and I could hear the faint sound of monitor beeps. It was apparent that I was in a hospital room.

As I became more aware of my surroundings, I took in the room's features. The walls were painted white, and the ceiling was made of smooth, polished plaster.

The bed I was lying on was small, and my body felt weak and frail. It was a strange sensation as if my limbs were not my own.

I looked around, trying to locate the source of the beeping. That's when I noticed a small device, with wires attached to my chest, monitoring my heart rate.

Gradually I regained the sense of every part of my body as I completely felt connected to the body and mustering all the strength and squeaking my eyes I rose from the bed.

Detaching the oxygen mask on my face I looked around my surrounding and then at my body, which was definitely not mine.

I summoned all my strength, wincing as I pushed myself up from the bed. Groggy and disoriented.

The hospital room was sterile and quiet, illuminated by the soft glow of fluorescent lights.

As I stumbled towards the washroom door, leaning heavily on the syringe stand, I tried to process what had happened to me.

I remembered dying, but instead of the black void I had anticipated, I had found myself in this new body, in this strange hospital.

As I pushed open the door to the washroom, my eyes darted towards the mirror. I caught a glimpse of myself, and I was horrified.

I saw a young man, around fifteen or sixteen years old, with fiery red hair and an imposing physical presence that did not match my previous form.

My reflection matched the boy in my dreams, the one who had wielded a sword and fought a bloody battle.

I felt a jolt of fear and confusion wash over me. How was this possible? What had happened to me? I knew I needed answers, and I needed them fast.

A sharp pain shot through my head as if a million needles were piercing my brain. Memories flooded my mind, memories that did not belong to me, but to the kid in the mirror.

My eyes welled up with tears, and my ears were filled with deafening silence, except for a loud, continuous beep. It felt like I was suffering from the worst case of tinnitus.

The pain and the process continued for what felt like an eternity, but it lasted only for three minutes.

"Is this what they call transmigration?" I muttered to myself. I had read about it in light novels and fantasy books, but I never thought that I would experience it myself.

A sense of excitement and wonder took hold of me. "So, I'm being given a second chance?" I chuckled.

If this was indeed transmigration, then it was amazing. I realized that I had acquired the kid's body and his memories, but some things could not be transferred.

It was like suffering from memory loss in certain areas, but those things could be made clear with time and effort.

'System?', I thought.

[Hello Sun-Jung, I am Varta, a highly advanced AI system designed to assist you in your journey. The previous occupant of this body, who also shared your name, was deemed unworthy by the higher being, and as a result, I was passed on to you]

'Ok, Varta. Could you brief me about my situation?'

[Gladly, a higher being has taken notice of you and chosen you to be their successor. You have been given a great opportunity, but with it comes great responsibility]

'And if it's not too much to ask, may I know who that higher being is?'

[Any kind of question is permissive but the answer to your question cannot be disclosed at your current level or this might damage your soul and risk your survival in this world]

'Uh, ok, I think I get the gist of it, now what is the task that a higher being has assigned me, or any kind of motive behind my transmigration?'

[Entertainment and succession, are the purpose you serve, you are to live your life the way you want but never settle for just one thing, never settle for just enough power or wealth, and strive to be the best in any kind of existence.]

'The offer is intriguing and I suppose you will be assisting me in everything?', I said as I listened to Varta's words, trying to fully comprehend my situation.

[That is the purpose I was made for]

'Could you show me my stats?'

[That is the reason he was deemed unworthy of my possession]

I could hear the soft footsteps of someone entering the room. A nurse wearing a white dress with a badge of Cypress Academy on her heart pocket entered the room.

She was definitely a lot more beautiful than the women of my world, and her blonde hair added to the charm.

"Welcome back," she said, with a smile. "You had us all worried there for a minute."

"How long was I out?" I asked, my voice hoarse and weak.

"About a week," she replied. "You were in a coma. But you're safe now, and that's all that matters."

"Thank you for taking care of me," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"It's my job," she replied, her smile warm.

"But I have to say, you're one of the most interesting patients we've had in a while. The doctors are amazed at how quickly you're recovering".

I felt a sense of pride well up inside of me at her words. Maybe this new body had some advantages after all.

I was determined to make the most of it, to live a life that was worthy of the gift that had been bestowed upon me.

I watched as the nurse gracefully moved around the room, taking note of every little detail.

Her movements were so smooth and efficient, it was clear that she was well-trained and experienced.

As she approached my bed, I couldn't help but notice the sweet fragrance that emanated from her.

It was a combination of lavender and vanilla, and it was incredibly soothing.

With gentle hands, she checked my pulse, my blood pressure, and my temperature.

She listened to my chest with a stethoscope and asked me a few questions about how I was feeling.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort in her presence like everything was going to be all right.

After the check-up, she removed the needles from my arm with a deft hand and turned off the machines that had been monitoring me.

I felt a sense of relief as the beeping sounds finally stopped, and the room became silent once again.

She then proceeded to adjust my pillow and bed sheets, making sure that I was comfortable before she instructed me to lie back down and rest.

I couldn't help but feel grateful for her care and attention. As I lay there, I watched her move around the room, tidying up and making sure everything was in order.

As she prepared to leave, she turned to me and smiled once again.

"Rest up, and take care of yourself," she said softly. "We'll be keeping an eye on you."

And with that, she left the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but think how lucky I was to have such a kind and caring nurse looking after me.
