Training and weaponry and equipment might be two different buildings but they were attached through an underground hallway.

Mun-Hee, our homeroom teacher wasn't the only one to bring us here, students from other sections were also present in the building, but none of us crossed paths with each other since we arrived at different intervals.

Right now we were headed towards the weaponry department. A humungous room with a royal theme, textured black and gold walls, a matt black floor, and a highly impressive and complicated security system considering the level of technology in the current era (1993).

Four livers were attached at the entrance of the room, Mun-Hee spun them in an odd-even sequence which resulted in disassembling the walls of the room and presenting us with a diverse variety of weapons.

"Now everyone, you are free to select a weapon of your choice and keep in mind to stack at least ten copies of the weapon you choose in your storage space, I won't be returning here on a frequent basis", Mun-Hee stated.

At her assertion, every cadet present in the room moved and looked for a suitable weapon, that will correspond to their combat course.

I walked around searching for the weapon I was looking for and after a short while, I found it. A high-density metal pole. The weapon that I own was the corrupted version of Ruyi Jingu Bang.

When the Monkey King goes to the underwater kingdom of Ao Guang, looking for a magic weapon to match his strength and skill, all of the traditional magic weapons—swords, spears, and halberds weighing thousands of pounds each—fail to meet his standards, the dragon queen suggests to her husband that they give Sun (Monkey King) a useless iron pillar taking up space in their treasury. He claims that the ancient shaft had started producing heavenly light days prior and suggests that the monkey is fated to own it.

The staff is initially described as a pillar of red iron twenty feet in height and the width of a barrel. After Ragnar?k, Ruyi Jingu has been broken into two pieces, with one of them embedded at the centre of the main battleground, Korea, now obliterated and become a sea.

But none of them knew that there were two of those shafts. One was the symbol of light, while another 'is' the symbol of eternal darkness.

The one in my possession is the symbol of eternal darkness, Yeoui. The shaft is a pillar of black iron twenty feet in height and the width of a barrel.

Since I can't take my weapon out and straight up start training with it because just the pressure of its existence is enough to make everyone present here bend on their knees. I just selected a normal iron pole and stacked ten of those in my storage ring.

Meanwhile, our protagonist Sun-Jung selected a usual long sword. Figures, protagonists of more than eighty per cent of harem novels, use a long sword.

Stella selected a magical staff.

Ji-Ho selected a bow.

Alex spencer selected a matt black katana. So we have a man amongst the bunch of lagoons.

And just like that, cadets were done with their selection. After the process of selection, we followed Mun-Hee, who led us to the training area. Calling it a room would be an understatement, it was thrice the size of the auditorium we had our entrance ceremony.

"Everyone, line up in six rows", at her declaration, cadets got into a formation, and formed six rows with five cadets in each row.

"The first row on my left will now start running laps around the perimeter of the area and the rest of the rows will be following them", she paused and asserted, "Start".

At her declaration, all of us started running laps around the area. Even in a place like this other students were competing with each other by running as fast as they could, they seem like an idiot to me. Since it was fun, I too started running faster than them, maintaining my first position.

After fourteen laps only five cadets were running the laps, and everyone was surprised because the fifth person running at the moment was the ranked thirtieth, our protagonist.

But then I saw Mun-Hee receive a phone call, and a tinge of shock appeared on her face listening to the phone call. At that moment I stopped running and looked to my right where my shadow appeared, which was only visible to me and informed me telepathically,

'There's an emergency, my liege. Miss Ruby received a critical injury during her spar, I couldn't stop the attack since the opponent used a devil artefact but I was able to reduce the force of impact'

'How much injury did she receive?'

'....'

'You are a part of my soul, do you think I would kill you? ....Now speak'

'There is a deep wound in her abdomen, half of her body and face is burnt and she might completely lose her eyesight along with the ability to walk, her curse would start to act up in the next two minutes, consuming all her life force, resulting in her death.'

At those words, my posture stiffened, my muscles got rigid, and a sudden coldness of dread hit my core along with the burning anger and frustration, thick killing intent that emanated from me focusing on the shadow. Even though no one except the shadow was receiving my killing intent, everyone felt a sense of dread in their very own being.

I closed my eyes and the surrounding around me distorted, the next second I was standing in front of the ward where Ruby was being treated.
