Chapter 197

When Fang Li’s voice resounded through the radio, Aria was taken aback.

Without any hesitation, she asked directly, “Why?”

Fang Li didn’t reply directly but instead nodded in the direction of the speeding bus below. “Take a look around the bus.”

Aria immediately looked down.

In the next second, Aria saw it.

Surrounding the racing bus, there were convertible cars speeding alongside it, closely following the bus all around. On the passenger seats of those convertible cars were mounted a particular type of weapon.

“Are those... submachine guns?” Aria’s expression tightened slightly as she murmured, “So they have guns, and they can monitor the bus and its surroundings through cameras, allowing them to decide when to pull the trigger.” Fang Li nodded in agreement and explained, “If we use parachutes to jump down now, we will undoubtedly risk being detected. I don’t mind, but you’ll be turned into a hornet’s nest in no time.”

“Why do you not mind, while I would be turned into a hornet’s nest?” Aria raised an eyebrow but also placed her hand on the grip of her weapon, saying, “In that case, let’s deal with those cars first.”

“That won’t work either.” Fang Li gazed at the road below, observing the regular vehicles being overtaken by the bus and the convertible cars. He explained, “The Metropolitan Police Department and the Butei Bureau are currently in the process of blocking the roads. If we start shooting now, even if we manage to neutralize the convertible cars, there’s a great chance that innocent bystanders could get involved, leading to a massive accident. It’s simply not worth it.”

“Ugh...” Aria’s cute and charming face finally displayed a difficult expression as she turned to Fang Li, asking, “Then what should we do now?”

Hearing this, Fang Li didn’t respond immediately. He looked at Aria, whose charming face was now tense, with a hint of doubt in his heart.

To be honest, the current situation could be judged even by a B-Rank Butei. However, Aria, as an S-Rank Butei, seemed to lack some judgment ability when facing such situations. While her actions were undoubtedly excellent, displaying outstanding proactivity when unable to judge the situation could lead to recklessness.

“Could it be that this transfer student from the United Kingdom is deliberately testing me?” Fang Li could only think this way.

Of course, as these thoughts flashed through his mind, Fang Li didn’t waste any time. He immediately posed a question.

“Do you know the license plate number of that bus?”

“License plate number?” Aria tilted her head and then said, “I didn’t check, but the bus usually stops in front of the boys’ dormitory every day at 7:58 AM.”

“...So, that bus must be parked in front of my dormitory,” Fang Li sighed, taking out his cell phone.

“In that case, the poor guy who always has bad luck should be on board.”

Saying that, Fang Li made a call.

After a short while, the call was picked up, and a very anxious voice came through.

“Fang Li?!”

The voice belonged to Tohyama Kinji.

“Hey, Kinji,” Fang Li spoke with a faint smile, “It looks like you’ve been cursed.”

“Aah! You’re right!” Tohyama Kinji’s somewhat frustrated voice came from the other end of the phone. “Now, I’m successfully trapped on the bus, and I can’t show even a part of my body. If any part of me appears at the window, it’ll be turned into a hornet’s nest by submachine gun fire. Damn it all to the deepest part of hell!”

“How about dealing with those convertible cars?” Fang Li got to the point.

“No can do,” Tohyama Kinji replied without hesitation. “You know my Ability right now.”

In other words, only by entering Hysteria Mode, Tohyama Kinji would have a chance to do something.

“It really is a troublesome situation.” Fang Li inquired, “Have you checked the inside of the bus?”

“I did.” Tohyama Kinji explained quickly, “I searched under the seats, inside the compartments, on the handles, and even under the flooring of the bus. I found no bombs.”

“What about the bags you all are carrying?” Fang Li continued his questioning, “Backpacks, handbags, and messenger bags – check all of them to see if someone secretly swapped bags and hid a bomb inside.”

Tohyama Kinji wasted no time and immediately instructed the Butei inside the bus to inspect their carried belongings.

After a while, Tohyama Kinji reported back, “We’ve checked everyone’s bags, and there were no bombs found.”

“In that case, the bomb is likely on the roof or underneath the bus,” Fang Li stated his judgment immediately, “But exposing ourselves on the roof would be too easy, and considering the weather, the bomb’s performance might be affected. The culprit is more likely to have placed the bomb underneath the bus.”

“What should we do now?” Tohyama Kinji asked anxiously, “If we want to inspect the underside of the bus, we have to go outside, but there are so many submachine guns pointed in our direction. We can’t do it.”

“Then you all should hide and not make any sudden moves,” Fang Li advised, “Leave the rest to me.”

“You?” Tohyama Kinji hesitated for a moment and asked, “Can you handle this alone?”

Hearing these words, Fang Li smiled faintly.

“Butei Charter, Article 1: Trust your comrades and assist them.”

Leaving behind those words, Fang Li hung up the phone, picked up the parachute backpack from inside the cabin, and strapped it to his back.

During Fang Li’s preparations, Aria had remained silent, watching him handle the situation. Only now, she finally spoke.

“I knew I didn’t misjudge you. You are truly outstanding.”

“It’s too early to draw that conclusion now,” Fang Li’s expression remained unchanged as he spoke, “Until the mission is completed, any amount of praise is futile.”

With that said Fang Li abruptly opened the cabin door.

“Whoosh!”

Strong gales rushed into the helicopter’s cabin, carrying with them the torrential rain.

Fang Li looked down and saw that all the civilian vehicles on the road had disappeared, leaving only the bus and the convertible cars.

“The road has been blocked,” Fang Li spoke into the radio, “We can act now.”

“Good.” Aria seemed prepared for this and immediately responded, “Then let the helicopter descend, and we’ll take care of those convertible cars.”

However, Fang Li shook his head and said, “There’s no need for that.”

As he finished speaking, Fang Li lifted Aria into his arms.

“Eh? Eh?”

Aria seemed taken aback, unable to react in time.

And at this moment, Fang Li had already leaped off the helicopter.
