Chapter 36: Exam Part 10 The Finale
Kaden, Sky, and the Great Ape went on an absolute rampage for the remaining time in the exam and ended up killing over 17 different beasts. Their progress was quite slow at first but for every kill they got the more their attack power increased. Kaden even had a rank of E in his class screen which made him grin happily due to the insane amount of progress he made but the problem was that for whatever reason not only wouldn't the rank increase after hitting 10 people in his family in total but there was still the temporary tag beside his rank which confused him a little.
'Is there some sort of timer on my rank? Maybe I have to add a certain amount of people within a time frame?' He thought to himself trying to figure it out but couldn't come up with a concrete answer.
*WEEEWOOOWEEWOOO*
Sirens began blaring randomly while Kaden, Sky, and their army were making their way towards another beast to kill and soon after the army that Kaden once knew disappeared in front of his eyes along with the entire forest that he had been traveling around. The only thing left was the large platform that had been there before with the poles on either corner but the main thing that interested Kaden was the screen in front of him.
[All temporary family members and rank increases have been removed.]
This was the message that his class screen had shown him and after looking at his rank once more he realized that he was once again back at F+.
'So that's what it meant.' He thought as he stood up and looked at his surroundings but was surprised to see that there was no one else within the platform of the exam. However, on the edges of the platform, there was a group gathered and they were currently approaching Kaden and Sky. Once the group was closer the leader of the group was Mr. Wright and he had a deep smile on his face as he was followed by students that numbered 16. After a closer glance, Kaden realized that the rest of their group was in that crowd that was approaching.
"Well done! You have officially completed your exam!" Mr. Wright said cheerfully towards Kaden and Sky. The previously bloodied Sky was now spotless of blood when Kaden looked over at her and now that he looked at himself he realized that he was no longer covered in blood as well. It seems that the effects of the exam area were quite extreme to not only affect classes but also affect the appearance of a person.
"Thank you! It was quite challenging but besides that why are they all behind you?" Kaden asked with obvious confusion plastered on his face.
Mr. Wright's smile brightened even more at this which made both Kaden and Sky a little nervous after remembering how scary he had been before the exam but Mr. Wright continued oblivious to their thoughts, "The reason they are here is that they died in the exam! They were all killed in some sort of way and were released out here. You two were the only ones to make it all the way." Mr. Wright said seemingly very pleased with them surviving the whole way.
Kaden was very surprised by this and blanked for a moment as he thought about the entirety of the other teams that he thought wouldn't split up and then how powerful the combined forces of Ken, Timmy, and Ashly would be. The thought of their group attacking at once even made him shudder a little despite them just starting with their classes.
"We were the only ones?!" Sky voiced her surprise this time and then looked over at the rest of our group as she said this making it seem like she had a similar thought to Kaden.
When Sky made it obvious that she was surprised by our group the people in question kind of looked away in embarrassment except for Emma and Ashly because Emma knew that she had a valid reason for being eliminated and then Ashly who seemed to be quite frustrated.
"Yes, you were the only two to make it, and not only that your group was actually first place by quite a large margin!" He said with a slight twinkle in his eyes as he looked at the two trying to gauge how they accomplished such a thing. He knew that the points for their group really didn't start coming in until only those two were left in the exam.
Not only did Sky and Kaden's jaw drop but everyone behind Mr. Wright went into a frenzy. Apparently, this was new information for them as well and they might have been waiting for the exam timer to run out.
"No it can't be!!"
"My mom is going to kill me!"
"They must have cheated!"
Many voices sounded all over the place as some of the other teams' members cried while some got angry and began shouting and accusing people and other things that had nothing to do with the exam. The only people that were relatively quiet were the winners themselves as they were quite surprised. Kaden knew that their group had a high opportunity of winning, but he didn't know that they would win by such a large margin.
'We really did it?....' Kaden thought to himself in complete awe. He even began to get a little emotional as he realized that not only did he get his class which he has always wanted to have since he was younger but he also got the opportunity to be a part of one of the biggest schools in the world. Right as a single tear began to swell in his eye warm arms wrapped around him in a hug and jumped up and down with him in excitement.
"We made it in!" Sky shouted with a gleeful expression on her face as she hugged Kaden and showed her enthusiasm.
(In the school.)
The principal was currently looking at the total number of kills by each team during the first exam to take place and also a screen that showed the arena where it took place but more specifically at a group of students that currently had a much different face than their peers near them.
'Very interesting.' The principal thought as he moved his eyes to stare at Kaden directly.
