Chapter 34: Exam Part 8 Acid Pool
What met Kaden in the mouth of the ape was nothing but a gross slimy sensation as he felt himself roll down the tongue of the ape. The ape must have considered him as good as dead because he didn't take the time to chew him and just rolled him back down into the ape's throat pipe.
'THIS IS BAD! WHAT DO I DO?!' Kaden thought as his mind raced on what to do in this situation. Despite the terrible circumstance he was in there was no way he was going to give up now. There was still a lot to be done in the exam and he didn't want his team to be 2nd or 3rd place.
As his body tumbled down the throat pipe of the ape Kaden tried lodging himself inside the ape's throat by leaning his back against one side and kicking his legs out against the other to try and choke the ape and it seemed to work. After a moment of kicking away the slippery gunk in the ape's throat, Kaden had a foothold inside the middle of its throat and began blocking the airway inside its throat to try and choke the beast. After a second of waiting the throat began convulsing in a seemingly choking manner, Kaden began to have hope that he might be able to climb his way out after the ape dies but then a loud sound came from the top of the throat or the mouth.
The sound started as almost a soft sound but it became apparent that the sound was becoming louder as it made its way towards the throat and down towards Kaden. Kaden was in confusion about what was coming as it sounded like a rushing sound or maybe like a river.
Like a... river...
"CRAP!" Kaden shouted as water began hitting him from above in extreme amounts. There would be no issue if it were a small amount of water, but it seemed like an almost endless supply of pressure similar to a waterfall. After a moment the spot that Kaden had previously removed of moisture was now becoming lubricated by the falling water and making him slowly start sliding down the throat pipe once more.
The panic settled in once more as his original plan didn't work and he was running out of ideas. As he slid his way down the throat he looked down for a moment and realized something that he had completely forgotten.
'The stomach?!' Kaden thought.
The stomach was right below him and it was not a beautiful site by any means. There seemed to be different pieces of animals inside the stomach as they were being processed by the pool of acid that filled the stomach and as Kaden watched a piece of meat regress to dust within a matter of minutes he decided that he needed some sort of action before he ended up in that pool.
The drop off into the acid got closer and closer and closer until it was finally at the bottom of the throat pipe. One more bad move and Kaden would fall into the depths of the acid and be eliminated from the exam. However he had no intention of being eliminated.
Kaden took a dagger out from his pocket right as he began falling and stabbed it into the upper stomach of the beast. Kaden could hear the beast roar from the outside in agony that it could not control. Kaden then began cutting his way through the flesh as best he could while handing on the stomach and eventually got a cut big enough he could use it as a handle grip to hold onto with his other hand. The only issue was that the blood now covered his body from the cut and it was hard to grab with how slippery it was.
Despite all the problems Kaden continued on and cut himself holes for his feet and arms to make it easier to hold on while the beast was still crying in pain and had no way to fix it. The ape had even drank more water to try and flush him out but Kaden's cuts were further away from the throat now and the ape had no way to touch him and now only one thing remained.
Kill the Great Ape from the inside.
Kaden gripped the handle he had made for his left hand and used the knife in his right as he began cutting and stabbing away at the flesh of the Great Ape and it began howling in pain as it was cut from the inside but Kaden didn't care for its cries as it had tried to swallow him only moments prior so he kept cutting and cutting.
It started off shallow like the handles he had used for his ligaments but after a couple minutes longer the cuts were large and deep in the skin and blood was pouring out from all over the place covering Kaden's body but he continued on cutting away at the beast until he finally felt his knife go through something and at the same time a loud thud resounded from the inside and Kaden was now sideways.
'What just happened?!?!' Kaden thought as he was now disoriented and hanging upside down once more. What was once the sidewall now became the ceiling and the acid inside the stomach was right below him once more so he used all his strength to cut more where he felt the knife had gone through and began seeing the outside light and the way to escape. What he hadn't heard in a while was the screams of the Great Ape from his cuts but once he made a big enough cut to take himself out of the stomach of the ape he saw the reason for that.
As Kaden stuck his bloodied body out of the ape he looked around and realized the body of the ape was now laying on the ground and unmoving.
'Did the ape die from my cuts?!' He thought in surprise.
