Chapter 72: Brewing Public Opinion

Lin Shan righteously looked at the angry faces around her. She was happy and continued.

“Back then, Uncle Qiu treated you so well. Whenever you asked for something, he would buy it immediately and give it to you.”

“Uncle Qiu didn’t say a word even though you stubbornly bore three children with some unknown guy. He has always been quietly supporting you.”

“Now, you’re enjoying your life here with a huge sum of money that you got through some shady means, while Uncle Qiu is suffering in prison. Can you really feel at ease?”

Qiu Tong looked at Lin Shan coldly and sneered.

“In this world, you are the least worthy person to criticize me! My former best friend, who tried to fleece me even after my family went bankrupt.”

Qiu Tong turned to look at the man standing intimately beside Lin Shan and smiled brightly.

“Lin Shan, you put so much emphasis on relationships. But didn’t you break up with Mr. Cui to find a new boyfriend?”

When the man beside Lin Shan heard this, he immediately shook off her hand and turned to question her.

“Lin Shan, didn’t you say that I was your first man?”

“The first?”

Qiu Tong looked at Lin Shan with feigned surprise. “Didn’t you break up with Mr. Cui because he saw a picture of you with another man?”

“That’s not right. I remember that it wasn’t just one man.”

The man’s face darkened visibly, and his gaze towards Lin Shan was filled with coldness.

Lin Shan had been dating the man for a long time. She knew that the man was really angry, so she quickly held his arm and explained.

“Honey, listen to me. It’s not like that…”

To her surprise, the man shook off her hand and walked in the other direction without looking back.

“Qiu Tong, how could you be so vicious as to come up with such a lie to sow discord between me and my boyfriend!”

Lin Shan turned to glare at Qiu Tong, her eyes filled with jealousy and hatred. She couldn’t help but think of Qiu Tong in the most vicious way possible.

It was impossible for Qiu Tong to suddenly have so much money and live here just based on her own abilities. Otherwise, she would not have been in such dire straits when the Qiu family went bankrupt.

Therefore, she must have found a rich man who was willing to spend money on her. So that she was able to live in such a big house now.

She voiced out her conjecture.

Qiu Tong crossed her arms and stood on the steps, looking at her coldly. “You depend on men to survive, so you think others are like you.”

“I’m not you. I don’t have to rely on a rich man. I can become rich with my own abilities.”

Lin Shan didn’t expect Qiu Tong to be so powerful even after the Qiu family had fallen.

“Qiu Tong, I want to see how long that man can tolerate you and your three brats!”

“I’m waiting to see the day you get kicked out of the house!”

Qiu Tong held the house deed in her hand confidently. Her lips curled up slightly, but her smile did not reach her eyes. “Lin Shan, you still have time to argue with me here?”

“If you don’t chase after your boyfriend now, I’m afraid that he will chase you out of the house.”

Lin Shan suddenly remembered how temperamental the man could be and panicked. She glared at Qiu Tong and rushed out of the crowd, chasing after the man.

Meanwhile, Lu Zhiling had been hiding in the crowd to see Qiu Tong make a fool of herself. She wanted to see Qiu Tong being criticized by everyone and she overheard Lin Shan and Qiu Tong’s conversation.

She gritted her teeth, feeling indignant.

Why was Qiu Tong’s sugar daddy so generous that he was willing to give her so much money in such a short time?

As for her own sugar daddy, not only was he a little eccentric, he was also not so generous when it came to money. Thinking of this, she hated Qiu Tong even more.

Lu Zhiling didn’t want to look at Qiu Tong’s victorious face anymore. She turned around and left the district.

However, the residents’ condemnation of Qiu Tong did not stop.

“Actually… Qiu Rong might not be a fraud. I heard that he did a lot of charity work and sponsored many people.”

Amidst the scolding, a middle-aged woman suddenly called out in a small voice.

However, her voice was quickly drowned out by the intense emotions of the crowd.

Qiu Tong frowned when she heard the woman’s words.

From what she said, Qiu Rong was not a bad person?

Then why did he cheat…

Qiu Tong didn’t have much of an impression of Qiu Rong and didn’t know much about him. So even though she found it rather strange, she didn’t think too much about it.
