Chapter 305: Counterattack
“Many years ago, I gathered Qiu Rong and the other scientists to develop a drug for me. The initial progress was very smooth.”
“Qiu Rong is a genius in the field of biochemistry. He can accurately adjust the ratio of the drug. In three months, I obtained the first experimental drug. The results of human experiments show that it can increase a portion of the body’s functions, but it will cause irreversible damage, leading to the death of the human subject.”
Fanaticism and ruthlessness flashed across Jin Tao’s eyes. He gritted his teeth and slammed his fist on the desk.
“I urged Qiu Rong to improve the ratio of the drug as soon as possible, but he argued with me.”
Qiu Rong believed that the drug cannot be tested on humans. It was too cruel and immoral.
In order to achieve his goal, Jin Tao rejected Qiu Rong’s opinion. He continued to choose soldiers from the army for the experiments. In just half a month, dozens of guards had died from the side effects of the drug.
Qiu Rong gradually realized that Jin Tao’s goal was not as benevolent as he claimed. He slowed down his research.
“Your father was as stupid as you. He tried to convince me…”
Jin Tao recalled what had happened that night. It was an electrifying exchange. Qiu Rong tugged at his collar and shouted angrily. “You have no right to harm anyone! Your actions are murder. You have to suffer the legal consequences!”
Qiu Tong frowned tightly, as if she could see what had happened back then. Her heart hung in suspense as Jin Tao narrated.
“I calmed Qiu Rong down and pretended to agree with his opinion to stop the experiments.”
“But he was smarter than I thought. He didn’t believe me. Instead, he took the opportunity to destroy all the relevant information in the laboratory and secretly helped one of the laboratory staff escape with the chip. By the time I discovered it, it was already too late!”
Jin Tao’s eyes were filled with hatred. If Qiu Rong had not meddled in this matter, he would have already ruled the world!
Qiu Tong and Jin Yang looked at each other and guessed that the researcher who fled with the chip was Ye Luan’s father…
Jin Tao took a deep breath to calm himself.
Terrence lit a cigar and handed it to him. He took a puff and blew out a thick cloud of smoke.
“Qiu Rong thinks he knows all the secrets of the modification drug so I can’t do anything to him.”
“That’s right. I can’t kill him. That’s why I sent people to detain him. I’ve planted many spies in the prison and used all sorts of methods to entice Qiu Rong to reveal his secret. But he’s like a mute. He hasn’t revealed any information to me all these years!”
“Until you showed up…”
Jin Tao raised his hand and pointed at Qiu Tong. Kinship was Qiu Rong’s weak spot and a lethal weapon which Jin Tao could use.
Qiu Tong suddenly understood everything that had happened. She frowned and asked, “You were the one who arranged the prison assassination!”
“Of course, I was the one who helped you to bail him out.”
Jin Tao nodded approvingly. “You all thought that you were safe and continued to develop the drug without worry. Little did you know that I have been secretly watching your every move, waiting for the day the drug would succeed! Bo Lang’s death was also deliberately planned by me. My goal was to see if the drug succeeded.”
The man in front of her could be described as terrifying.
Jin Tao’s every move was precisely calculated according to what he predicted they would do. Making use of Qiu Rong and Qiu Tong’s personalities, he designed countless traps for them to jump into. Qiu Tong recalled all sorts of things in the past and realized that many of her actions had been quietly guided along. A chill ran from the bottom of her heart and spread through her blood. This was the first time she felt afraid.
Jin Yang remained silent, as if waiting for someone.
Time ticked by. With a loud bang, the door to the secret room slammed open from the outside. Shao An stood outside with the president’s guards carrying rocket launchers. Jin Tao’s men did not dare to move.
“Sir! The people outside have been restrained. Two or three of them have escaped and we have sent men to chase after them.”
Shao An ran to Jin Yang’s side and quickly untied him.
Jin Yang rotated his wrists and untied Qiu Tong, pulling her to his side to protect her.
Jin Tao did not expect this to happen. “Did you get captured on purpose?”
“Father, you taught me a lot of things, including the way you think. After confirming that you’re the boss behind the Liqing Corporation, I knew very well that this building was a trap for me, so I pretended not to notice and let Shao An handle your minions outside.”

Qiu Tong heard her heart thumping. She took two submachine guns from Shao An’s hands and stared at Jin Tao warily. Her instinct told her that things were not that simple!
Jin Tao took out his gun and was about to pull the trigger when he realized that there were no bullets in the barrel!
