Chapter 235: Gray Zone

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

In the villa, Qiu Tong saw that Ye Luan was injured and hurriedly brought him to the bedroom for treatment.

Qiu Xingyuan told Qiu Tong what had happened. Qiu Tong was putting disinfectant on Ye Luan’s wound and he squeezed his eyes tightly in pain.

Ye Luan’s entire body was trembling, but he still gritted his teeth and endured it, unwilling to reveal any weakness.

Qiu Tong knew that Ye Luan must be hiding something, so she felt guilty. She did not probe further. Instead, she turned around and looked at Qiu Xingyuan and the rest. She said in a harsh tone, “Mommy told you before that you’re not allowed to go out without good reason, especially when there’s been danger recently!”

“Go back to your rooms now and write a diary entry to reflect on yourself. Mommy will check it tomorrow!”

Qiu Tong frowned when she saw them standing by the bed. She rested her hands on her waist and asked, “Are you all being disobedient?”

Qiu Xingyu pursed her lips and pushed Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao out the door with her.

Hearing the sound of the door closing, Qiu Tong saw the sweat on Ye Luan’s forehead. She took out a towel and wiped it for him.

Ye Luan’s lips were pale. He opened his eyes and said weakly, “Auntie Qiu, I’m sorry.”

Qiu Tong shook her head and smiled as she bandaged his wound. “The wound needs to be changed every day. I’ll take your temperature again at night. I’m afraid your wound might be infected by the dirt. Don’t worry about anything else, leave it to me.”

Qiu Tong gently stroked Ye Luan’s forehead and tucked him in before walking out of the room.

She returned to the bedroom and turned on the computer with a solemn expression, her fingers typing furiously on the keyboard.

Qiu Tong hacked into all the nearby surveillance systems as fast as she could. She locked onto the surveillance cameras across the school and found the relevant footage.

She clicked on the mouse and zoomed in. A clear face appeared on the screen, and the screenshot was sent to the police station’s registration system.

Qiu Tong soon found out who the person who tried to kidnap Ye Luan was. She had information on the other party’s identity and made an automatic system search. She searched through the entire internet for every little bit of information on him. As the information loaded, Qiu Tong stared at it without blinking until an address popped up on the screen.

Late at night, Qiu Tong pushed open Qiu Xingyu’s bedroom door. She looked at the girl leaning on the desk with a pen in her hand, feeling a little exasperated and amused.

She removed the pen Qiu Xingyu was holding and carried her to the bed.

Qiu Xingyu was in a daze. She opened her eyes and saw Qiu Tong. She opened her arms and snuggled in Qiu Tong’s embrace. “Mommy, I didn’t do anything wrong!”

Qiu Tong comforted her. Before she left, she saw two lines of crooked handwriting in Qiu Xingyu’s diary. “When Brother Ye Luan was in danger, Little Yu rushed over to help him. Because we’re family, Little Yu is good!”

“Mommy is just worried about me, so she’s very fierce. I know, so I don’t blame her!”

Qiu Tong chuckled. This little girl was really smart and adorable.

She checked that Ye Luan’s injuries had stabilized and left the villa.

Qiu Tong looked down at the navigation information on her phone and drove towards the address where the gangster was.

This was a downtown area. Many gangsters who did business in the black market lived here, and the police would deliberately avoid this place when patrolling at night. Simply put, these two blocks were gray zones beyond the reach of the law.

Qiu Tong parked the car at the intersection. As she stepped into the alley, the gangsters squatting by the side whistled at her.

They fiddled with the sharp daggers with their fingers as they stared at Qiu Tong with murderous gazes.

Qiu Tong’s expression was calm as she looked at them without a hint of panic. She rummaged through the photo album on her phone for a photo of the man she was looking for. She then approached one of the gangsters who looked like he had the most experience and connections. “Do you know where he lives?”

The old gangster shrugged and reached out an open palm. and Qiu Tong handed him a wad of cash.

“Turn left, third room on the second floor.”

The old gangster told her, but a few other burly thugs saw Qiu Tong giving out money. They slowly approached, dragging metal rods on the ground.

Qiu Tong frowned. “Don’t block my way. I’m busy.”

The leader wiped the corners of his mouth and laughed arrogantly. “Hehe, pretty lady, we are busy people too.”

“Either you give us money or you play with us and let us have a good time.”

Lecherous expressions appeared on their faces. Qiu Tong watched as the red dot on the tracking device started to move. She said impatiently, “We’ll have to see if you still have the life to come and get it!”

She dashed to the thugs’ side and lowered her body to sweep their lower bodies.

The thugs were caught off guard by Qiu Tong and their metal rods scattered all over the ground. The leader felt that he had been embarrassed and crawled up in a sorry state, wanting to punch Qiu Tong’s face, but his fist stopped five centimeters away…

Qiu Tong gripped his wrist tightly, the sound of bones breaking could be heard.

“Alright!”

The surrounding gangsters whistled and cheered. Qiu Tong did not wish to continue fighting. She just stepped over them and headed to her destination.

Someone’s here. She is quite skilled. Pack your things and leave.

A thug hiding in the dark sent a message to warn the man.
