Chapter 13: Your Prize

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

Jin Yang called for his comrade who had sent him to the hospital. The other party immediately understood. “You are talking about that young lady with her three children?”

So there were really three children.

Jin Yang frowned slightly and gave a small nod. He had his comrade immediately investigate the background of Qiu Tong and those three children.

He had vaguely felt that Qiu Tong’s aura was very familiar, as if he had seen her somewhere a long time ago.

But no matter what, he could not remember.

Jin Yang’s eyes darkened when he thought of the warm aura that was like the morning sun.

Taking advantage of the chaos during the gunfight, Qiu Tong took a lot of money from the bad guys and brought the three kids to a restaurant in the city. She slapped the table and said, “Serve us all your signature dishes!”

The table, which was large enough to cater to 20 people, was instantly filled. The three children looked shocked.

Wasn’t this too much?

Qiu Tong felt extremely satisfied and gestured to them. “Eat. What are you waiting for?”

She quickly lowered her head and started to eat. She ate in a frenzied, but not uncivilized manner. Watching her, Qiu Xingyuan and the rest was once again dumbfounded.

Qiu Xingyu carefully looked at Qiu Tong’s bag, her eyes filled with sorrow.

Mommy was such a glutton and they didn’t have much money on them. Would she eat them into poverty?

“We are not eating.”

Qiu Xingyuan shook his head guardedly. With so many dishes and the expensive look of the restaurant, the prices should be very high.

If they spent all their money, Qiu Tong would definitely use that as an excuse to throw a tantrum.

Qiu Tong looked in confusion at the three children huddled in a corner. “Why aren’t you eating?”

Qiu Xingyu bit her finger and looked longingly at the exquisite dishes on the table. She whispered, “We won’t have any money left if we eat.”

What reason was that?

Qiu Tong was amused and said casually, “I have money to pay for this.”

“Besides, you can always earn more money when you run out of it, but you cannot go hungry.”

She made the three children come to the table and instructed them carefully, “But don’t ever waste food.”

The three children were thrifty by nature and nodded obediently. They felt that Qiu Tong had really changed a lot.

In the past, when she had no money, Qiu Tong would scold the heavens for being blind. She would go on a tirade about men, before beating them and scolding them for being money-sucking burdens.

They had never seen Qiu Tong so optimistic. In the past, Qiu Tong was always full of complaints, and would even hit them when she was angry.

After eating and drinking, Qiu Tong was in no hurry to bring them back.

The three children usually stayed at home and did not go anywhere. Qiu Tong planned to bring them around. As expected, the three children were full of energy and looked at everything in town with fresh eyes.

“Wow!”

Qiu Xingyu’s sharp eyes caught sight of a doll arranged behind a display window by the street. Her eyes immediately lit up and she pressed her hands against the glass without blinking.

Qiu Tong came up behind her and raised an eyebrow. “You like it?”

Qiu Xingyu nodded vigorously and looked at Qiu Tong expectantly.

When she saw the price in the window, Qiu Tong’s expression changed.

This little toy that could not be eaten was actually several times more expensive than the food she had just eaten?!

Qiu Tong didn’t think it was worth it, so she grabbed Qiu Xingyu’s hand and turned to leave.

Although Qiu Xingyu was reluctant, she understood the situation at home and followed obediently. She turned back to look at the doll several times, her eyes filled with longing.

Qiu Xingyuan’s heart ached as he watched. He was also a little angry.

Qiu Tong was willing to spend so much money on a full table of food just to fill her stomach, but she was unwilling to buy Little Yu a doll which she liked so much!

Quietly clenching his fists, Qiu Xingyuan took a good look at the doll in the display window, carefully noting down the price.

When he had money in the future, he would definitely buy this doll for Little Yu!

And he had to buy two. He would put the other one in Qiu Tong’s room for her to see!

They thought that Qiu Tong was going to bring them home, but she led them to a stall which gave prizes for shooting at the balloons.

What was she doing?

Qiu Xingyuan frowned. He realized that he could not understand Qiu Tong anymore.

Pretending not to notice the three kids’ confusion, Qiu Tong walked straight to the boss. “How much?”

“$20 for 30 shots.”

Qiu Tong pointed at the doll placed on the highest shelf. “That’s the prize for hitting all the balloons?”

That doll was more than twice the size of the one in the earlier display window.

The boss looked at her and instantly took her for a fool. He chuckled.

“Yes, you can have it as long as you hit all the balloons.”

Did she really think that she would be able to hit all the balloons?

Qiu Tong understood and waved at Qiu Xingyu with a smile. “Come here, I’ll help you get a doll!”

This time, the boss was not the only one who believed that Qiu Tong must be dreaming. Even Qiu Xingyuan thought so.

Qiu Xingyu walked over doubtfully, but was immediately pulled into Qiu Tong’s arms. Qiu Tong placed Qiu Xingyu’s index finger on the trigger.. “Aim properly.”
