Chapter 114: Protective Apparatus

The commotion in the kindergarten was too great. When Chief Officer Fang received the news, he was so shocked that he immediately rushed over to maintain order.

The police officers drove the rioting crowd away with their shields and protected Qiu Tong and the children. Chief Officer Fang asked nervously, “Are you alright? Do you want me to escort you back? The situation here is a little complicated. Let us handle it…”

Chief Officer Fang tried his best to lower his voice, but the surrounding crowd still heard their conversation. They immediately shouted at the top of their lungs.

“Did you see that?! The Qiu family is linked to the higher-ups. The locust pesticide problem hasn’t been resolved yet, and they’re leaving?”

“We can’t let them go! The Qiu family must compensate us, or we’ll go to their house and block them!”

The noisy crowd tugged at Chief Officer Fang’s clothes agitatedly, asking for an explanation. As they argued, they ended up scratching his arm.

Chief Officer Fang gasped in pain and frantically pulled the police officers over to maintain order.

Such actions made the crowd resist even more. It developed into a riot.

Qiu Xingyu was so frightened that tears welled up in her eyes. Qiu Xingqiao held her hand tightly and comforted her, “Don’t be afraid. Close your eyes, things will be fine soon.”

Qiu Xingyu closed her eyes obediently. Qiu Xingqiao frowned and stared at Qiu Tong. He did not know why he was hoping that she could solve the tricky situation!

Outside the crowd, Lin Shan crossed her arms and hid in a corner to observe the situation…

She had come with Chief Officer Fang to see Qiu Tong make a fool of herself. She had no intention of interfering.

However, now that things had come to this, a scheming glint flashed across Lin Shan’s eyes. She took the initiative to walk out and attracted the attention of the crowd.

She deliberately stood on a higher ground and pretended to speak up for the farmers. She raised her voice and said, “Stop arguing!”

“Qiu Tong and her child’s pesticide is the problem. Why are you causing trouble for Chief Officer Fang?”

“Chief Officer Fang only approved the production of the locust pesticide. He didn’t know that there was a problem with the Qiu family’s formula, nor did he know that it would cause an allergic reaction…”

Lin Shan looked at Qiu Tong sarcastically, hinting to Chief Officer Fang that everything had happened because of Qiu Tong.

When Chief Officer Fang saw that the crowd’s emotions had stabilized a little, he awkwardly tidied his wrinkled clothes, frowned and cleared his throat.

Lin Shan looked at the crowd and continued in a loud voice, “I know a factory that makes protective apparatus.”

“We need to rush production of the pesticide to suppress the locust plague, right? Farmers need to use locust pesticide, but you’re also afraid that something will happen to your bodies!”

“I can help contact the factory and get them to speed up the production of a batch of protective clothing. This will prevent the farmers from suffering from allergic reactions.”

“At the same time, we can prevent the locust plague in the fields from worsening!”

After Lin Shan finished speaking, the crowd finally calmed down. They put down the rotten eggs and vegetables that they were holding in their hands, discussing if what Lin Shan said was true.

“Really? Are you lying to us?”

The crowd looked at Lin Shan doubtfully, wondering about her identity and the credibility of her words. However, the tense atmosphere finally eased a little.

Chief Officer Fang did not expect her to be so effective at such a critical juncture. He looked at Lin Shan with a complicated gaze, which changed from disdain to joy in just a few seconds. He turned to look at Qiu Tong. He was thinking that if he let things escalate, the higher-ups would definitely hold him accountable.

If Qiu Tong and the children’s reputations were harmed, the higher-ups would definitely be displeased.

Even if there was something wrong with the locust pesticide, there was no way he could pin the blame on the Qiu family.

Lin Shan had stepped forward at this moment to help Qiu Tong solve the problem. She was able to give the crowd a solution and let this matter pass.

Chief Officer Fang thought for a moment and immediately decided to sign a contract with Lin Shan in the name of the government. “This batch of protective apparatus will be distributed to farmers who need to spray locust pesticide in the shortest time possible. Please go home and wait. Don’t cause trouble again!”

After receiving this order, Lin Shan looked at Qiu Tong with increasingly disdainful eyes. She said sarcastically, “People shouldn’t try to stick their necks out if they don’t have the ability.”

“Now, you still need someone else to clean up your mess. I really don’t know where your thick skin comes from!”

Qiu Xingyuan pursed his thin lips. His eyes were cold as he clenched his small fists and looked at Lin Shan with frustration.

Lin Shan raised her eyebrows provocatively. “Little brat, why are you glaring at me?”
