Chapter 40: Tank

fr eewebn ovel.com

A few projects later, Reylin threw his new creations into the inventory.

Reylin didn't make anything grand or at least useful other than his crown ring, and he would rather keep those items for different projects. Even as failed projects, he still would be able to use them as resources.

Reylin managed to get just one blueprint after toiling for two hours.

He was ready to log out earlier and cleanse his mind in the hot bath.

But before his finger pressed the log out button, the loud bell's sound swept through the neighborhood, and every miner tensed. They blew up on candles, turned off any source of light, and quietly hid in the hidden room.

That room was below the floor, and even Reylin wouldn't be able to find it!

Yusuf quietly said, "Either follow me or fight the monsters!" He sounded desperate and impatient.

Reylin understood, "Hide."

Reylin's inventory had two sets of equipment.

The first set was for the sneaky missions or just when Reylin wanted to hide his appearance - The Black Shadow's Set. The robes were the main part of that set, and no one could peek into Reylin's face while he donned those.

Of course, he sometimes revealed his eyes or smile, but that was mainly due to the excitement pumped by his heart.

That was just inevitable.

The second set was his usual set, The Flame Robes.

He wore those clothes when he leveled up or fought someone seriously. That set increased his mana and INT so much Reylin didn't mind wearing it just for special occasions. Going around the city or taking a carriage would be overkill in such clothes, and he didn't pay much attention to the fashion either.

Against the monsters in the leveling ground recommended for players between level thirty and forty, any player would take out their best equipment.

Reylin did not, and he strode the Northern Rivers Bank's Miner Community.

This community was not too far away from the mine.

It was pretty much the houses in a row with a few shops. Some miners lived with their families, but that wasn't a good life as those families were cut from the social life.

The same went for people who operated shops here.

They got more money but lacked social interaction.

"Water and now this... Oh, Layla, Layla..." Reylin whispered to himself while his eyes glared at the stone wolf.

It wasn't fair to blame Layla as Reylin requested something interesting, and the dark matter was the cause of the monsters' appearance. However, the waterfalls and the stone monsters seemed like the worst enemy for flame users.

Reylin knew he would need to exercise more, and his mind was one foot in a hot bath already.

He shook his hand, conjured flames from every fingertip, and threw the fireball at the monster.

[-105 HP!]

"So low. That's not to my liking, wolf," Reylin said in a jarring to the ears tone.

His enemy understood the meaning, and its stone eyes expanded a little. Its jaw opened, and it went up.

Even the kids would understand the meaning of this action!

The wolf howled to call his buddies!

Reylin didn't let it call anyone, however.

In a speed betraying his class, he appeared before the wolf and left a horizontal kick on its face. His leg lit up in flames, and he drew a fire line that exploded like a fireball!

The wolf rolled on the ground, hitting the house. A faint cry slipped from the other side, but Reylin's next move erased the worried existence's presence within.

"Die," Reylin whispered, his foot going down onto the wolf's face.

The wolf's face sank a little, then the fireball from beneath the foot pushed him deeper underground. Reylin's leg retracted, but he quickly followed with another stomp, and he repeated that process until the wolf died.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The first monster forced him to stomp for more than five minutes, and Reylin had exercised too much.

Even after the wolf's defenses dropped, his flames needed some time to utterly kill.

Reylin took the xp for himself, then approached the house.

And he closed the doors without peeking inside.

The house's doors were open, and he only fought the wolf because of it. Should the wolf enter the house, the family's wealth would have been lost, which would have cost them a lot of stress and trouble.

Reylin didn't mind doing this much, and after he erased the existence, he focused utterly on the area around him.

The stone wolves and other monsters one would find in the wild forest. Their hordes went around the miner's community, seeking fresh blood. For some reason, they didn't bump into the houses, nor did they try to tear it down.

They strolled across the streets!

The problem was that they wouldn't return should no one take care of them.

That was when the authorities and their people appeared.

Donned in armor with Blue Rose's Emblem on the chest, the soldiers stomped in a consistent march, their steps making minor earthquakes.

Those soldiers also had the noble emblem on the other side.

They belonged to a noble that had the whole mine under his family.

Reylin looked at the show with an amused smile.

"I didn't expect to see a player here," Reylin whispered.

Any plan needed rework, and those often changed during the action. Reylin didn't expect to see a player here, but he believed she was here on rather a harsh trial upon seeing her level.

Perhaps, that player was one of those crazy people who liked the challenge, and overcoming the level gap through arduous battle was the reward they looked for.

The battle went as Reylin expected, and the humans' teamwork overwhelmed the monsters. It wasn't easy as monsters were wild and worked on their instincts, becoming reckless and thirsty creatures.

"She's struggling," Reylin chuckled.

The only player in the army struggled, and she was also left alone for most of her time here. However, her shield never touched the ground, and she kept it high enough to cover most of her body.

The shield's top stopped just before her eyes so that she could see the front, and she slowly hacked at the monsters with her sword.

That player was a tank.

Reylin believed he saw through the player well, and he more or less knew what to expect from the tank lady.

He suddenly looked behind himself, "The monsters attack humans; the humans leverage and go for the profit."

The organization behind the attacks on the mine didn't waste any chance. It seemed like they had already attacked the mine and their storage!

Reylin sent the friend invitation to the female tank, then rushed to the other side!
