Chapter 127 Before I go

"Hello, my wife?" Zaki said and the woman on the other side of the phone replied in a sweet tone.

"Zaki, my love, is your business over?"

"Yes, but there’s an emergency here so I called you. Someone is about to die here because of love."

"Oh, is it Yu Chen?"

Zaki looked at Yu Chen as he sidled closer to him and whispered, "Isn’t my wife great? She guessed that it was you." he chuckled but as expected, Yu Chen didn’t react and just quietly stood there, waiting.

After narrating Yu Chen’s problem, the famous love guru aka Zaki’s wife, Hinari, spoke.

"Is Yu Chen listening right now?" she asked. When Zaki said "yes", Hinari continued. "I have a suggestion."

...

It was already nearly nine in the evening when Zaki left the company by air. Yu Chen had also wrapped up for the night because he promised Luo Xiaolei that he would be picking her up tonight.

When he arrived at the front of Yellow bell’s orphanage, Yu Chen sent Luo Xioalei a text message and after a short while, the girl stepped out.

Lou Xiaolei immediately spotted a big, white panda leaning on a black car and she quickly walked towards him.

She smiled as she stood before him. Luo Xiaolei waited for him to open the door like he always did but the man moved closer to her instead, lifted his hand and then his elegant fingers tucked Luo Xiaolei’s hair behind her ears.

As expected, this simple gesture caused her heartbeat to become uneven and for some reason, Luo Xiaolei began to feel that there was something off with Yu Chen. She couldn’t see his eyes because of his hood but she somehow felt a seemingly gloomy vibe accompanied his actions.

Curious, Luo Xiaolei slightly tilted her head as she subconsciously leaned closer, trying to look at his expression. But before she could gain a full view of his gorgeous face, the man’s words made her slowly lean back.

"I’m going abroad tonight." He said and strangely, Luo Xiaolei suddenly felt an uncomfortable feeling in her stomach.

"That’s the reason why you came here tonight? To tell me?" she replied, sounding very normal.

"Mn. I wanted to see you before I left." The atmosphere after those words left Yu Chen’s mouth turned kind of depressing. Yu Chen was exuding an obviously low-spirited aura and he sounded unwilling.

Luo Xiaolei on the other hand quickly understood that with Yu Chen’s business and status, going abroad unannounced was something inevitable. She knew because she had gone through it countless times, so how much more with this tycoon?

"W-when will you be back?" Luo Xiaolei could only reply when Yu Chen fell quiet for a while.

"I still can’t tell how long I will need to stay there," he said and Luo Xiaolei nodded.

"I see. So you won’t be coming home tonight?"

"Mn. I’m heading straight to the airport from here."

"Oh I see... I’ll let the kids know where you’ve gone. Leave it to me." Luo Xiaolei smiled at the big panda before her as she continued. "Don’t forget to have a proper rest when you’re there."

"I will, you too."

Their conversation somehow seemed light and casual until Yu Chen led her towards the other car. Yu Chen opened the car’s door for her but Luo Xiaolei didn’t enter, she turned towards him and faced him with a smile.

"Have a safe trip." She said and Yu Chen quietly nodded. Luo Xiaolei looked at him despite his eyes being hidden by his hood, before saying, "bye, see you soon."

Yu Chen didn’t say a word and just stood there so Luo Xiaolei smiled at him again before she turned around. She was about to climb inside the car but Yu Chen suddenly caught her wrist, causing the girl to turn back to him again.

The moment she turned around, because Yu Chen was so close to her, Luo Xiaolei lost her balance and wobbled. Luckily, as if Yu Chen was expecting this to happen, he was quick to catch her.

His hand was already wrapped around her waist as he steadied her.

"Are you okay? Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you." Yu Chen immediately apologized but Luo Xiaolei shook her head.

"No, it’s fine. I’m not really startled. I just lost my balance, that’s all. Hehe," she said with a light laugh. She then saw Yu Chen suddenly pull back his hood. His seemingly ethereal visual and his tantalizing eyes appeared into view and Luo Xiaolei could only press her lips tight and fall into a short stupor as she looked at him. This man really was not good for her heart!

Luo Xiaolei snapped back to reality but just a second later, she was instantly got shocked again. It was because the gorgeous man in a cute panda jacket still didn’t let go of her waist and was even moving his face closer and closer towards her.

The way he moved his face closer to her was exactly the same as that time when Luo Xiaolei asked him to be the one to kiss her instead. His almost exaggerated and deliberate movements along with his scorching eyes, which were like a black and peaceful starry night, started to make her feel breathless.

And then, his forehead bumped onto hers before he halted and turned into an unmoving stone. After a short while, Luo Xiaolei blinked. She could feel his warm breath touching her face. He was just too close and she had never been this overly conscious about his closeness before.

"Xiaolei, will you let me kiss you before I go?" Yu Chen’s voice was almost a whisper, and unusually so damn seductive that Luo Xiaolei almost lost her entire thought process.

"Uh-huh? B-but, would you be alright? I mean... if you faint..."

"I’ll be fine. Actually, you taught me well enough that night when you’re drunk."

"...!"

Luo Xiaolei’s eyes widened. She couldn’t believe what she just heard but before she could even say a word, Yu Chen closed his eyes, and his lips landed on hers.
