Chapter 115 Marks

What followed Luo Xiaolei’s unexpected action was a deep and awkward silence. The invisible noisy Mr. Crow even flew above them, singing noisily.

But after a short while, Zaki’s surprised expression slowly changed into something mischievous. He glanced at the girl who had quickly buried her face on Yu Chen’s shoulder, obviously hiding her face, before his gaze travelled down to her arms on Yu Chen’s neck.

His gaze then fell on Yu Chen’s face and the corner of his lips lifted.

He remained silent as he watched Yu Chen’s eyes stayed wide for another while until he finally moved his hands underneath her legs, which were already clamped tightly around his waist, to make her comfortable.

The sight of them gradually turned Zaki’s smile into a wide grin and his even sparkled as though he had just found something extremely interesting.

When Yu Chen finally looked at him, Zaki cleared his thoat.

"Ahem... did I interrupt something?" He asked. His tone sounded curious but an obvious playful look lingered in his eyes. "Okay, I got it. This big bro was just roaming around, giving everyone a surprise morning visit so don’t mind me. I absolutely don’t have any important matter to say so please go back inside now."

Zaki once again grinned widely despite Yu Chen’s silence and then after throwing a meaningful gaze to his so called younger brother, he winked at him before he grabbed the door knob and closed it on his own, while whistling happily.

The instant the door was shut closed, silence enveloped the entire room again.

Yu Chen didn’t say a thing as he simply stood there facing the closed door with her on his back.

Luo Xiaolei thought that he might be waiting for her to say something but she was too embarrassed to even speak.

Oh god... now I actually dug myself an even deeper grave... Ah, why was this happening to me? Could it be that karma is starting to chase me for trying to escape this sin of assaulting a pure maiden?! T^T

Time passed and all Luo Xiaolei did was bury her face on Yu Chen’s shoulder. She didn’t even loosen up her grip on him, clinging onto him so tight as if she had forgotten that she was actually clinging onto a gorgeous human being and not a stone.

Eventually, the quiet Yu Chen moved and walked towards the bed. He stood by the bed for a moment and when he felt that there was still no sign of her wanting to climb down off him, he slowly sat on the bed.

He waited for her to let go but her arms and legs stayed locked around him.

"Didn’t you say you need some more sleep?" he finally spoke and there was no sign of teasing or embarrassment that could be heard in his voice. There was a hint of worry in them instead.

This made Luo Xiaolei feel even more guilty. Obviously, he realized that she was just acting and had probably deduced that she was just too embarrassed to face him at the moment. Despite it all, he was being so damn considerate, behaving like he completely understood her and was now trying his best not to do or say anything that could make her feel even more embarrassed.

His behavior made Luo Xiaolei feel like crying. In the next second, she spoke.

"I’m sorry," she began. Her voice was soft and regretful. "I am very embarrassed about what I did to you and I didn’t know how to face you... That’s why I... that’s why I... lied and said that I felt dizzy."

Luo Xiaolei surprised herself. She was not usually the type to be this honest to anyone. In her previous life, she had learned to keep everything inside her. When she did something wrong, she would apologize and admit she was wrong. She was so used just saying ’I’m sorry, I was wrong’ without trying to explain why she was sorry. She used to not bother at all, because she didn’t care whether people understood her story or not. She grew up that way so when did she start being this honest? Was she being influenced by Yu Chen now? That was the only reason she could think of that made sense. She realized that when it came to this man, she didn’t want him to misunderstand and she never wanted to lie to him, no matter how small it was.

As Luo Xiaolei continued her confession, her grip on him tightened. "And... I didn’t want anyone to see the awful marks I did on your neck, so I suddenly jumped on you." She added, feeling like her face was about to be set on fire.

Luo Xiaolei felt him heave a sigh of relief before he replied her. "They’re not awful." He said, causing Luo Xiaolei to finally lift her face.

"H-huh?" she blinked, looking a bit confused when Yu Chen gently loosened her arms from his neck before he pulled her around to face him.

"I said, they’re not awful."

Just as those words left Yu Chen’s lips, Luo Xioalei snapped and finally realized that Yu Chen was now cradling her in his arms like she was a small child. Her embarrassment, his words and her position at that moment became clear to her and she felt like her face was about to explode.

Abruptly, she covered her face with her palms as she spoke. "I’m very sorry... I’m such a... bad... pervert... when drunk. I know I did such an awful thing to you so you don’t have to say it like that to make me feel better..."

Luo Xiaolei was still speaking when Yu Chen gently dropped her on his lap. He held her wrists and pulled her hands away from her face, making her look at him.

The instant their eyes met, Yu Chen’s gaze was already serious.

"I’m not saying it so you’d feel better. I honestly think these marks are not awful at all." He explained, his voice was noticeably firm and sincere. "They are... they are not awful because they are marks crafted by you."
