51 Beaten Half To Death At Most

If a person was trapped by love, they would make the wrong decision and even become a slave of love. They would be controlled by others. The Cheng family’s motto was never to allow anyone to become a slave.

The smile on Jiang Yao’s face disappeared completely. A few minutes later, she smiled again. “I was wrong. It turns out that you’re not tempted by Young Uncle, but that Young Uncle has met his match. Why don’t I treat you to a drink? I really did ask a few hot guys out. I promise you’ll be satisfied.”

Xing Shu really wanted to leave, but Jiang Yao had already pushed the door open and gotten out of the car. Xing Shu could not help but follow suit.

As soon as she got out of the car, Xing Shu saw Nie Heng leaning against another car. He was dressed casually, but his aura was still imposing. The man standing opposite him had the opposite temperament of him. Although he was holding a cigarette in his hand, she felt that his hands should be holding a brush; he should be writing and painting.

When Jiang Yao saw the man, the smile on her face widened. “Xing Shu, what do you think of the man standing opposite Nie Heng?”

The corners of Xing Shu’s mouth twitched. “If I’m not wrong, that’s Jin Mo, the most talented screenwriter now. He’s the young master of the Jin family.”

Jin Mo and Nie Heng were about the same height, but their temperaments were poles apart. Nie Heng was very irascible; like a powder keg—aggressive and ruthless. On the other hand, Jin Mo was very gentle. His hand—which was holding a cigarette—was white and dazzling. When he smiled, the corners of his eyes curled up. He was a mild-mannered pretty boy who could seduce anyone.

Jiang Yao was surprised. “You know Jin Mo? You don’t even attend many gatherings, how can you know Jin Mo? Jin Mo doesn’t attend many gatherings either. But it doesn’t matter. If you like him, I’ll knock him out for you now. Bed him first.”

Xing Shu asked, “Are you sure that we won’t be beaten to death by him after that?”

Jiang Yao replied, “No, no, no. Not beaten to death; half to death at most. Of course, I’ll be the one beaten half to death. You’ll most probably be dead—lock, stock and barrel. But think about it. It’s worth dying to bang the most talented screenwriter.”

Xing Shu said, “… You can succeed in anything with your determination.”

Jiang Yao was stunned for a moment before she smiled. “I realized that you’re more interesting than I thought.”

Despite the bold words, Jiang Yao did not intend to greet the two men. Unexpectedly, Xing Shu took the initiative to walk over and stand in front of Jin Mo. “Senior, long time no see.”

Jin Mo put out the cigarette in his hand and looked at Xing Shu’s face gently for a while. Then, he asked, “Xing Shu?”

Xing Shu replied, “It’s me.”

Jiang Yao did not expect these two people to really know each other! She looked curiously at all of them in turn. Finally, her gaze stopped on Nie Heng whose head was lowered, playing with the lighter in his hand. The lid of the lighter opened and closed, and the flame disappeared and reappeared.

Jiang Yao nudged Xing Shu’s shoulder. “Do you really know Jin Mo? Are you still going to join me with the hot guys?”

Xing Shu did not want to go in the first place. Just as she was about to nod, she saw Nie Heng suddenly raise his head. Xing Shu felt a chill run down her spine and had a bad feeling.

Nie Heng whipped out his cell phone and made a call. “Cheng Lang, your Little Canary is about to fly to someone else’s gilded cage. Do you want me to help you deal with it?” His tone was sinister, and the last few words seemed to be spewed with a clenched jaw.

Xing Shu was speechless. She realized that ever since they last met, Nie Heng had enjoyed torturing her. He was delighted at the sight of her misery! This pervert! The terrifying thing about Nie Heng was that he meant what he said. If Cheng Lang—who was on the other end of the phone—had given an affirmative answer, Nie Heng would really kill her in the next second. An insensible canary had no right to live.

Xing Shu felt as if someone was squeezing her heart tightly, and even the air became thin. She did not know what Cheng Lang said, but in the next second, Nie Heng placed the phone by her ear.

“Did he scare you?” Cheng Lang’s cool voice emanated from the cell phone, instantly calming Xing Shu’s nerves. She replied, “No, I know he’s joking.”

Cheng Lang chuckled. “Nie Heng isn’t the type to joke around.”

Xing Shu’s breathing quickened. Sensing Jin Mo’s meaningful gaze, she wanted to end the call quickly. “Young Uncle, is there something the matter?”

Cheng Lang replied, “Yes. Prepare yourself. You’re going on a business trip with me tonight.”

Xing Shu thought that she had misheard and confirmed it with Cheng Lang again. Her expression instantly became much more serious. “Okay, what time is it tonight?”
