With the fear of Elric saying no, the goblin kept silent no longer devoid of its previous pride when it narrated his amazing feats before being sealed

After all, his freedom was on the line. Don't look at him trapping Elric here, but the goblin knew that he wouldn't be able to keep Elric's consciousness much longer.

As even now, a certain force was trying to pull back Elric consciousness at this moment

*However, this is not surprising. If the person who I have been waiting for since can't even do this much, then I might as well wait longer"

Although surprised that Elric a mere human showed signs of breaking away from his hold, but considering the pictures he saw in the future, the goblin accepted it calmly

However what he didn't know was that while he was still worrying, Elric had already made a decision.

Pretend to agree.

This was Elric's plan as the goblin before him was too suspicious, even though there was a chance he might not actually be a goblin

After all, having his whole figure clocked by darkness, there was no way for Elric to make out what race he was.

Not only that, there were bits and pieces of the story right which didn't add up,

like why does he only emphasise on the power of one eye and ignore the other two.

Or how and why he became immortal, as from what he said among the powers listed by drinking the water, immortality wasn't one of them

Obviously, the figure before him was hiding something, and Elric wasn't in the mood to find out.

Unaware of the fact that his consciousness had begun to set itself free from the figure's grasp

Elric still believed that having his consent was the only way to get back to reality.

Due to this, Elric had already planned on deceiving the figure from the start.

Thinking up a quick plan, Elric suddenly spoke up

*Alright Mr Immortal Sovereign, I promise to try and set you free as soon as I can"

"Unfortunately, you might not know this but my body on the outside world should be severely damaged, so I wouldn't be able to move around for a while"

"Also, I neither know how to get to where you are sealed nor know any unsealing methods"

First agreeing to help him escape and then giving excuses for delaying time, was Elric's plan

This way, even if the figure got out on its own for some reason, he wouldn't be held accountable.

After all, he had already warned the figure about all the possible setbacks.

Hopefully, this would be enough to satisfy the figure and let him go.

"Haha Good, then it's a deal!"

"Now all you need to do is swear in the river Styx and I'll let you go"

With a heart laugh unlike Elric's speculation, the figure immediately agreed even though Elric's plan was so obvious

However, before he could be happy that he succeeded, Elric's face turned gloomy as he heard the last part of the figure's words.

Swear on the river Styx!

Much like swearing on the will of the world, breaking a river styx promise would result in endless torture.

The river Styx, said to him the souls of all those who fail to believe in God punishing them for eternity.

And if you break a river Styx promise, legend has it that your soul would Immediately be dragged into it resulting in eternal damnation.

Thinking of this, Elric's face turned gloomy. Obviously for a godlike figure such as him to suggest this, then it meant it wasn't just a legend.

Unfortunately, the figure ignored Elric's gloomy expression and continued talking.

"Once you reach the highest point in which the sun's touch the land, you would find the entrance of the seal"

"All you need to do is break it and I can get free"

Saying this, the figure told Elric how to rescue him.

Now all that was left was for Elric to swear on the river Styx so each side could officially part their own ways.

"...…"

"Silence filled the surroundings as all he waited for Elric to make a decision"

Lucky for him, the figure didn't have to wait too long as Elric soon came to a decision.

Looking at the figure floating in front of him, Elric couldn't help but feel he had a smile on his face.

Obviously, the figure knew that he urgently needed to get to the outside world thus pushing out such conditions knowing he could not resist.

Thinking of this, Elric more and more confirmed that he wouldn't ever release him unless necessary.

*Damn! I guess I have no choice, luckily as long as I say the right words, then this river Styx contract shouldn't affect me too much."

After all, having his soul being cast into a river to suffer for all eternity wasn't something he put on his bucket list.

*Alright I'll go with that!*

With bright eyes, Elric's mood rose as he had thought of the perfect words to say.

"Alright Mr Immortal Sovereign, I agree to swear on the river Styx."

Not giving the figure a chance to react, Elric quickly gave his promise.

"I Elric promise to release the figure before me from his seal as long as he sets me free and I get the opportunity "

'Get the opportunity'

This was the clause Elric snuck into his words making the time to release him indefinite.

After all, 'the opportunity' can mean anything as the term is too vague to pinpoint an exact moment.

Luckily, the figure didn't seem to notice as he replied happily after hearing Elric's promise.

"Alright human, since you have sworn in the river Styx then I should fulfil my end of the bargain."

"You may leave now, hopefully when next we meet it would be physically as I got out of my seal"

*Bang!*

Saying this, the figure burst into a bang of bright light enveloping Elric's figure whole
