When Arlan opened the package, he found out that it was actually the Salvator Mundi painting and Meng Tian's spare battle sword, Silver Dragon. "Jonas, display them in the hallway. Make sure that they are encased in anti-theft glass."
"Yes, boss! Just leave it to me." Jonas nodded his head.
"Alright. Just call John Dave and Josephus if you need some extra hands." Arlan said before he headed to the dining room to eat breakfast.
(John Dave and Josephus are one of his employees. They are mainly responsible for tending to his garden and they are also responsible for maintaining his man-made lake and pond.)
While he was eating lunch, Karl informed him that the fifty ex-soldiers he hired yesterday have already arrived.
"Tell them to wait for me outside. We will go somewhere today." Arlan said before eating his remaining food.
Some of the fifty people he hired had cars so it wasn't a problem to bring all of them outside. However, most of their cars weren't fit for driving into rocky terrains so he had to buy them new ones.
After eating his breakfast, Arlan led his men out of the territory. They first went into the largest car shop in the city which was owned by Toyota.
Their arrival scared the employees and customers in the car shop.
"Who are these people? They look scary."
"Shush! Shut up! What if they hear you!?"
The people who were only there to look at the cars hastily went out of the shop. They were intimidated by Arlan's group.
"You guys should stay here. You will only scare the people if all of you will follow me inside." Arlan muttered while chuckling.
"Yes, Sir!" The ex-soldiers answered snappily.
Arlan shook his head and entered the car shop with Karl, Khalon, the former Colonel Gregorio, the short-tempered ex-military Captain Conrad, and the wise ex-military Major Cedrick.
The employees didn't dare neglect them. Two beautiful employees escorted them and showed them around the shop. They also told them about the characteristics of the cars.
"Boss, what kind of car are you planning to buy this time?" Karl asked.
"This isn't for me. I want to buy some cars for our people. We will need them in the future since you guys will have to go into rugged terrains." Arlan replied while inspecting the car in front of them. It was a 2022 model of Toyota Avalon. This car was one of the in-demand cars of Toyota before, but when they introduced their SUV models, the demand for the Toyota Avalon decreased. Because of this, Toyota announced that they will stop the production of the Toyota Avalon at the beginning of the year 2023.
"Boss, you're buying cars for us?" Karl grinned.
"Yes, but you can only them during missions." After replying to Karl, he turned his head to one of the pretty employees and asked. "How many of this model do you have in stock?"
The sales assistant thought for a moment before giving him a reply. "Sir, we stopped producing this type of car so we only have fifteen of them left in our shop."
"Alright. I want to buy all of them." Arlan muttered calmly.
The sales assistant was stunned by his words. "Sir, are you sure?"
Arlan nodded his head and said. "Let's sign the paperwork."
Hearing this, the two sales assistants stared at each other in surprise. They never thought that they would actually encounter a tycoon today.
"Please wait, sir. Give me a moment to get the documents for you."
The two sales assistants immediately informed their Manager about Arlan's purchase and the Manager heard that Arlan wanted to buy 15 cars at once, he volunteered to handle the transaction.
"Sir, I am the Manager of this shop." The fat Manager eagerly shook hands with Arlan.
"Sir, please sign these documents." He handed a stack of documents to Arlan.
After signing them, Arlan handed the documents back to the Manager. He then took out his card and gave it to the Manager. "Use this card for the transaction."
"Yes! Yes!" The fat Manager eagerly nodded his head as he took the card from Arlan. He then gave it to the Sales Assistant beside him and told her. "Go and swipe the card."
The price of one Toyota Avalon 2022 was 2,200,000 pesos, but because Arlan purchased them in bulk, the Manager used his authority to give him a huge discount. He only paid 2,000,000 pesos for each car which amounted to 30,000,000 for all fifteen cars.
"Sir, thank you for choosing us! This is my business card. If you want to buy more cars in the future, please contact me." The fat Manager said with a smile.
Karl took the business card and stuff it inside his pocket.
"Does your store offer car armoring?" Arlan asked the Manager. The cars would be used in missions so it was better to install bulletproof armor on them for added protection for his subordinates.
The fat Manager shook his head. "Unfortunately, we don't have the equipment to install bulletproof into cars. However, I know of a shop that does car armoring and bulletproof installation. Do you want me to refer you guys to them?"
Arlan's eyes lit up upon hearing this. This fat Manager was quite efficient. "Yes, please."
The fat Manager didn't mind doing something for him. Arlan was their biggest purchaser of the year and he wanted to leave a good impression on him. "Sir, I've already made an appointment for you guys. You can go to their shop now. If you want, I can also handle all the process for you. Once everything is done, I'll deliver all the cars after their bulletproof has been installed."
"Oh? In that case, I'll leave this in your hands. What's your name?" Arlan was satisfied by this fat Manager. He was an excellent guy who was very helpful and efficient in his work.
The fat Manager grinned as he replied. "Sir, you can just call me Brandee."
