Arlan was now alone in his villa. He headed straight to his room and put down the black case on the table. He then opened it and grabbed the energy pistol inside. "Those guys didn't even ask me about this black case." He muttered while shaking his head. He believed that it was Fredrinn's doing. He was unaware that all personnel of the territory was already informed by the upper management to give him the best treatment possible.

Arlan didn't have the chance to take a clearer look at the energy pistol earlier since he didn't want to scare the taxi driver. Now that took a closer look at it, he realized that there were more amazing things about this weapon. It was very light compared to its size and the handle of the pistol felt a bit cold in his hand. The blue light emitted by the energy source was flickering as he waved the pistol lightly. "What kind of energy source is this?" He muttered while looking at the blue light.

With this energy pistol, he felt more secure. After all, Leandro's men were just waiting for him in the dark.

Arlan kept the energy pistol inside the black case before heading to the bathroom. The chase earlier made him feel a bit tired so he wanted to have a hot shower to relieve his tension. After a fifteen-minute hot shower, he changed into a comfortable set of clothes. He then grabbed his phone and saw a message from Charles.

-Hey, Arlan! Do you want to visit that fat bastard in prison? I really want to see the look on his face the moment he sees us.-

Arlan chuckled when he saw the message. He also wanted to visit Jackson in prison, unfortunately, Leandro's men seemed to be hot on his tails lately. It would be dangerous if he goes out without necessary preparations. He replied to Charles' text message before making something for dinner.

Arlan felt a bit lonely as he ate alone in his big villa. The delicious beef steak he cooked tasted bland for some reason. He couldn't help but think of his parents. He wondered what they were eating this time.

When he was still living with his parents, he remembered that they would usually eat dried fish and rice during dinner time. Sometimes, they just boil some sweet potatoes.

Arlan smiled as he recalled those memories. They might not have had a lot of money back then, but his parents did everything they could just to give him something to eat.

Arlan grabbed his phone and sent 50,000 pesos to his mother's bank account. He didn't send a big amount since it might scare his honest parents. After sending the money to his mother, he also decided to call them.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The phone rang three times before someone answered his call. "Son, how are you? Have you had dinner?" It was his mother's caring voice.

"W-Who is that? Cough! Cough!" A frail voice could also be heard faintly. Arlan frowned when he heard his father's violent coughing.

"Mom, I'm fine. What about you guys? What's going on with Dad?" His parents' phone was the older version keypad so he couldn't see their faces, but he could tell that his father was sick after hearing him coughing.

"We're fine here. You don't have to worry about us. Your dad has a fever, but he should recover after a few days of rest. You know that your dad is a very strong guy." His mother replied lightly.

Arlan furrowed his eyebrows. His father was indeed strong and it was because of doing all sorts of heavy labor jobs. However, he was getting old and his body was no longer as healthy as before. "Mom, I sent you some money. You should take Dad to the hospital and have him treated."

"You sent money again? Son, you should keep your money to yourself. We still have some savings here." She knew that her son was working in a construction company and his salary wasn't that high. She didn't want her son to be too frugal on himself.

Arlan's eyes trembled when he heard this. His parents were struggling financially, but she still refused to accept his money. "Mom, I'm working for a different company now and it's run by a close friend of mine. My salary is many times higher compared to my salary before. I will send you more money in the future."

"Really? That's great! Which friend are you talking about?" He could hear the happiness in his mother's voice.

"I met him some time ago. His family owns a building here in the city. His name is Terrence. He is a great guy..." Arlan could only use Terrence as a reference. His mother was very perceptive and he was afraid that he would see through his lies.

Arlan talked with his mother for over twenty minutes before he heard his father's voice. "You've been chatting with our son for so long now. Give me the phone! Cough! Cough!"

"Dad, are you alright?" Arlan asked worriedly.

"Hahaha! Who do you think I am? This is just a normal fever. Cough! Cough! I will be fine in a day or two. There is no need for me to go to the hospital. Cough! Cough!" His father replied while laughing heartily.

"That won't do. You should go to the hospital and buy whatever the doctor prescribes for you." Arlan muttered in a serious voice.

"Enough about that. Tell me how's your life there in the city?" His father quickly changed the topic.

Arlan sighed and shook his head. His father was a stubborn man. He chatted with his father briefly before he disconnected the call. However, ten minutes later, his phone rang. It was a call from his mother's number.

"Mom, what is it? Did you forget to say something?"

"Arlan, what is going on?! Did you send this 50,000 pesos? This is too much! You should keep some for yourself!" His ears almost hurt from his mother's loud voice.
