Arlan spent more than an hour interviewing everyone. He asked them about their experiences from their past jobs. He also learned a lot of personal matters from them that wasn't written in the documents sent by Fredrinn.
After interviewing the last applicant, Arlan leaned on his chair and cracked his neck. "I never knew that sitting for over an hour is actually so tiring…" He muttered while sorting the notes he wrote on a piece of paper. Written on this paper were the things he learned from the applicants. He inserted it inside the folder which contains their personal information before stepping out of his study.
In the living room, everyone waited for Arlan to come out. Their faces were filled with anticipation as they thought about their future. Their new boss didn't mention anything about their salaries, but they knew that there were a lot of benefits in working under a rich boss like him.
Soon, Arlan went down the stairs and headed to the living room. Upon his arrival, the applicants who were waiting for him immediately stood up to greet him in unison. "Boss!"
Arlan no longer corrected their way of addressing him and just accepted it. "I'm very pleased with all of you. It would be best if you guys can start working tomorrow. I will also give you the details about your salary and benefits tomorrow. As for your uniforms, I will have someone check your measurements so that we can provide you guys with the right size."
Among the twelve people, Karl would be working for him as his driver and bodyguard. Two middle-aged men named John Dave and Josephus would be his gardeners. They will be responsible for tending to his garden and yard. They will also feed the fishes and turtles in the pond. The remaining middle-aged man, Jonas Ivan, was a former Sales Manager of a big clothing company. He would be working as the butler of the villa.
As for the eight women, four of them will be working as maids. They have rich experience in their past jobs and they were also skilled in doing household chores. The four of them were Rechelle, Therese, Erica, and Pamela. They were very meticulous and hardworking so Arlan believed in their capabilities. The other four were Thelma, Elisse, Sheena, and Catherine. He didn't know what jobs to give them yet so they will be temporarily working as maids as well.
"Do you have any questions?" Arlan asked while staring at them.
Thelma, a mature woman in her early thirties suddenly spoke. "Boss, since we are working as your maids, can we stay in the villa?" She was mesmerized by the elegance of the Lake View Villa and she really wished that she could live here. She didn't have a family of her own and her parents were living overseas so she didn't have anything to worry about but herself. Moreover, she also wanted to get closer to her young and mysterious new boss.
The others perked up their ears upon hearing her words. Who didn't want to live in such a beautiful villa?
Arlan pondered deeply when he heard this. Of the eight ladies, only Catherine has a child and she was a single mother. The rest were single and it was unknown if they were dating anyone. Meanwhile, with the exception of Karl Bryan, all three men had families of their own so it would be a bit troublesome to have them live inside the villa. After a moment of thinking, Arlan organized his thoughts and said. "Alright. The villa has many empty rooms so if you guys want to stay here, you can choose any rooms you want on the second floor."
Arlan's room was on the third floor so he didn't mind giving them the empty rooms on the second floor. Furthermore, the villa was so huge that it would feel empty and desolate with only him occupying it.
"Boss, I have a four-year-old daughter. I wonder if I can bring her with me…" Catherine spoke timidly. She was already in her thirties, but because she was conscious of her health, she managed to preserve her youthful and voluptuous body. If Arlan hadn't seen her age in the documents, he would have thought that she was still in her early twenties.
Arlan smiled at her words. This woman had a pitiful past. She was a talented girl back then who graduated with exemplary results in her university. She worked as a Junior Manager for Mazda Taguig Branch and because of her good work ethic, her workmates liked her a lot. She also had a lot of pursuers at the peak of her career and she eventually fell in love with the Senior Manager of the Mazda Taguig Branch. They were a happy couple for more than six years and she became pregnant with his child. She thought that everything would be smooth for her, but things changed when she found out that her man was cheating on her. Worst of all, he has been cheating on her since they became a couple! Since then, she left the company and focused on taking care of her daughter using her savings.
"Of course you can take your daughter with you." Arlan also wanted to help this pitiful mother get back on her feet.
"Thank you so much, boss!" Catherine almost cried in happiness after getting his approval. If they could live in the villa, she didn't have to worry about paying the rent and bills anymore.
"You're welcome." Arlan smiled gently.
The others also has some questions and Arlan patiently answered them one by one.
Beep! Beep!
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
Arlan checked the time on his watch as he muttered. "It looks like she is here…"
He stared at Sofia and said. "Sofia, please bring our guest inside."
"Yes, boss." She nodded and went to open the door.
Sofia was surprised when she saw a tall and beautiful woman standing outside. She looked like a successful woman based on her temperament. "Hello, are you here to see the boss?" She asked.
