Not long after Arlan and Loyd left, a furious roar echoed from the boss' main office. The armed thugs were stunned when they heard this and they quickly went to the office to see what was going on. Upon entering, they saw a masked man struggling to stand up, while two guards lay motionless on the floor.
"Boss, what happened?" The thugs were dumbfounded. These two bodyguards were ferocious characters who were once killers, but they were actually knocked out without even alerting anyone! Just who was capable of doing this?
The masked man grabbed the broken mask, preventing it from falling apart. He glared at the thugs and shouted in rage. "A bunch of trash! Capture the two men who came here earlier! Bring them to me alive! Dammit!" He couldn't believe that someone actually had the guts to cause trouble for their organization. Although none of them died, this was still a huge slap to their face! 'The boss would certainly fly into a rage if he hears about this.' He thought in his heart.
"Yes, boss!" The thugs immediately scurried away when they heard his command.
After they left, the masked man grabbed his phone and dialed someone's number. He has to report this to the boss.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
He anxiously waited for a few seconds before someone accepted the call.
"B-Boss, it's me. Someone came here in our camp and paid the money owed by the Reyes Family." The masked man reported as he took a picture of the briefcase left by Arlan. He then sent it to the person on the phone.
"How could the Reyes Family pay for their debt? Isn't that bastard policeman still in the hospital? Where did they get the money?" A cold voice of a man could be heard over the phone.
"I'm also not sure where they got the money." The masked man shook his head and sat down. He then recalled the man who had knocked him out in one move. That guy moved so fast that he didn't even see his kick! Since the two guards were also unconscious, they must have fallen victim to that person as well!
"Who sent it? Bring that person to me."
Hearing this, the masked man awkwardly replied. "Boss, they have already left the camp."
"Huh?! Useless thing! Why did you let them leave?! Don't you know that the woman from the Reyes Family is someone that Boss Leandro is eyeing?! Bring them to me! I'll try to buy some time for you guys, but you have to make it quick!"
"Yes, boss! Our men are already looking for them. I'll call you as soon as they are captured." The masked man disconnected the call. He heaved a sigh of relief. Luckily, the boss didn't ask him how many people came. If he knew that they were played around by two people, who knew how his boss would have reacted?
Thinking about Arlan's face, the masked man smashed the things on the table and shouted furiously. "Dammit!"
Meanwhile, Arlan was already far from their camp. While he was driving, he suddenly felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. He grabbed it and saw a notification from the mysterious app.
[You helped the Reyes Family pay off their debt. You can now claim your reward!]
[Do you want to claim your reward?]
Arlan eagerly clicked the [Yes] button.
[Congratulations! You claimed 1,000,000 dollars! The money has already been deposited in your account!]
When he saw the reward he claimed, he immediately opened his messages and saw a message from his bank telling him that he received 1,000,000 dollars.
Looking at the string of zeros from his bank account, he felt that his trip was worth it!
He smiled joyfully as he kept his phone inside his pocket.
Loyd who was sitting in the passenger seat shivered when he Arlan's smile. He told himself that he would never disobey this guy again in the future.
Soon, the two arrived in the Royal Territory. When the guards saw that it was Arlan's car, they only inspected his vehicle casually before letting him go inside.
Inside the Lake View Villa, Sofia and Maria still haven't fallen asleep. They were waiting anxiously in the living room.
"Mom, do you think something would happen to them?" Sofia asked nervously while looking through the window.
Hearing her daughter's worried voice, Maria quickly shook her head and muttered. "They should be fine. Arlan is a rich person. He should be able to leave unharmed with his connections. I just hope that they wouldn't fight Leandro."
Suddenly, they heard the sound of a car moving towards the mansion. The mother and daughter pair quickly moved closer to the window. Outside, they saw Arlan's car stopping in front of the mansion.
"They're back!" Sofia heaved a sigh of relief.
Maria was also relieved when he saw Arlan and Loyd coming out of the car. "Let's go see them."
When Maria and Sofia opened the door, Loyd leaped toward them and wept like a child. "Mom, I'm scared! I thought I would die!"
Arlan chuckled disdainfully and got inside the house.
Sofia ignored her brother and followed Arlan. "Did everything go well?" She asked.
Arlan sat down on the sofa and stared at Sofia with a smile. "I already gave them the money."
"Thank you." This was the only thing she could say to him.
Arlan shook his head lightly and muttered in a serious tone. "You guys have to be careful when you go out of the territory. Your debt has been paid, but those thugs might do something to you."
Sofia nodded her head solemnly when she heard this. "I will ask for a month of leave from work and look for an apartment for us to temporarily stay." She said.
"No! You can't leave the territory for the time being. Just stay in the mansion for now. I'll inform the police to send more personnel to the hospital where Uncle is staying." Arlan muttered. He knew that Leandro's organization must be looking for them at this moment.
