The next day, Cedrick and Conrad led the army to head north. Because of the size of their army, they attracted numerous zombies from all over the city.

The soldiers were equipped with high-powered rifles and they also brought a lot of ammunition. The ten battle tanks didn't even need to attack. The soldiers eliminated the zombies swiftly, filling the streets with the corpses of zombies.

"Sir, the leader of the scout team wants to speak to you." A soldier said to Conrad as he handed a communication device to him.

"Let's hear it." Conrad nodded his head as he put the earpiece into his ears.

"Hello, it's me. Did you guys discover anything unusual?" Conrad asked.

"Yes, sir! We discovered ten zombies that are twice as big as normal zombies. This should be the Tank-type zombies the boss has told us about. Other than them, we also spotted twenty Hunter-type zombies and twenty-five Spitter-type zombies. This is just an approximate number since the horde is increasing in size." The leader of the scouting team reported.

Conrad furrowed his eyebrows upon hearing this. Before they came here, Arlan sent them a document that contained information about different kinds of zombies. According to the document, these zombies were more powerful compared to normal zombies. He didn't think that they would encounter them so soon. "Stay there and wait for us. Don't let your position be exposed and just update us if you discover something."

"Yes, sir!"

Seeing Conrad's serious expression, Cedrick asked. "What did he say?"

"There are Tank-type zombies, Hunter-type zombies, and Spitter-type zombies in the horde. If we are not careful, we might suffer some casualties." Conrad replied in a stern voice.

Cedrick was shocked when he heard this. "How many of those zombies did they find?"

Conrad stared at him and replied with a grim look. "More than sixty."

Cedrick furrowed his eyebrows. "That's a bit troublesome, especially those Spitter-type zombies. According to the document, those guys could spit highly corrosive and contagious chemicals within 5 meters. We must shoot them down and prevent the horde from getting close to the army."

Conrad nodded in agreement.

After hearing the report from the scout team, the army became cautious. They slowed down their march. Conrad also sent fifty snipers to move ahead of them and shoot down the Spitter-type zombies.

Spitter-type zombies had low mobility. They also didn't possess tough skins like the Tank-type zombies. Just one shot to the head was enough to kill them.

"We are getting close to the horde! Put on your protective suits!" Conrad shouted as he put on a protective suit over his armor. The army's protective suit was different from the ones used by the lab personnel. Their suit could withstand highly corrosive substances and it was also cut-resistant.

The soldiers put on their protective suits.

While the main army was heading towards the location of the horde, the sniper unit had already found a spot to snipe the Spitter-type zombies.

"Sniper Unit is in position!" The leader of the unit reported as he searched for a target through the scope of his sniper.

"If you find any Spitter-type zombies, kill them immediately!" Conrad commanded through the communication device.

"Copy that!"

"Search for Spitter-type zombies and kill them! Shoot their heads!" The leader of the sniper unit shouted at his subordinates.

The snipers quickly moved into action. They aimed their snipers and searched for Spitter-type zombies within the horde. After spotting one, they unhesitatingly pulled the trigger of their gun.

Soon, ten Spitter-type zombies were killed. The zombies were alerted by the sound of the gunshots and they started moving all over the place.

"These guys are brainless. We can shoot them all down if we have enough ammo." A soldier muttered in disdain.

The Spitter-type zombies would explode upon their death and highly corrosive chemicals would splatter around their corpses. The bodies of the nearby zombies were even corroded by the chemicals. However, this didn't affect them much and the pain only increased their aggression.

After another thirty minutes, the sniper unit had already eliminated more than thirty Spitter-type zombies.

"Sir, we have already eliminated thirty Spitter-type zombies. However, the size of the horde is still increasing so you guys should be careful. There might be some of them hiding within the horde." The leader of the sniper unit reported.

"Good job! You guys can start dealing with the Hunter-type zombies and Tank-type zombies. We will clean up the rest." Conrad replied.

After the Spitter-type zombies were eliminated, the army finally launched an attack on the horde. They didn't use highly destructive weapons and only used their guns to kill the zombies. As for the tanks, they didn't fire their main armament and only used machine guns. They didn't want to destroy this part of the city because it was an important route that would be useful for the army in the future.

Meanwhile, the scene of this battle was witnessed by the acting president and his trusted subordinates through a drone camera. They were shocked by the power of the army. The horde that troubled them for a while was torn apart by the ammunition of the army. They didn't even manage to get close. Even the fast-moving Hunter-type zombies were turned into sieves.

"Unbelievable! Our country's military is actually this strong?! Since when did our army get their hands on such fearsome weapons?" Manuel Chavez was pleasantly surprised by the firepower of the army.

"No wonder those two didn't hesitate when I told them about the mission. It turns out this was just a simple cleanup for them." Manuel Chavez shook his head with a wry smile, but he was very happy with the results.

Seeing the fearsome might of the army made the acting president and the others ecstatic. With their presence, they no longer had to worry about the security of the shelter.

"Mr. President, are they soldiers under the commanding general's command?" A high official suddenly asked.

The acting president turned his head and frowned. "Why do you ask?"

The high official's face turned serious as he suggested. "Mr. President, what if those people have ulterior motives? For instance, what if they decide to take control of the shelter?"
