Arlan brought Sofia to his hotel room. He then grabbed the briefcase which contains 5 million pesos in cash. He got this from Terrence after winning a basketball match against his team.
"This briefcase has 5 million pesos. The extra 1 million pesos is for your father's medical bills for the next year." Arlan muttered.
"That's too much! We'll just take 4 million pesos. You should take back the rest. I promise that we'll slowly pay you back." Sofia's tears were threatening to burst when she heard Arlan's words. They only met recently, but he was actually willing to go so far as to help her.
Hearing this, Arlan smiled and shook his head. "It's fine. You don't have to feel pressured in paying me back. I'm not in a hurry." He already planned to give the money to her. He only said that he would be lending it to her family so that she wouldn't reject him.
"Thank you." Sofia lowered her head as she sobbed quietly.
Arlan gently grabbed her shoulders and patted her back. Not long later, he whispered to her. "Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother. I'll go with him to meet Leandro Manzano!"
Sofia raised her head. She wanted to reject him, but when she saw his firm gaze, she could only nod her head. "Alright."
They went to Sofia's house and they saw a bunch of thugs beating someone up. There were over a dozen of them and each of them was holding steel pipes or machetes. Their victim kept on screaming as he was brutally kicked and punched by the group.
"Ahhh! Helppp!"
"Helpp!!"
His loud screams echoed in the neighborhood, but no one dared to offer any assistance. Their neighbors locked their windows and doors in fear.
"Loyd! Mom!" Sofia cried out when she saw the scene. The victim was actually her younger brother, Loyd! She also spotted her mother tied up in a lamppost, screaming for help.
Arlan stopped the car in front of the thugs. Their arrival immediately attracted everyone's attention.
"Isn't this Miss Sofia? Our boss is looking for you." A man in his thirties who was holding a steel pipe said with a mocking smile. He was the leader of the thugs. His eyes roamed around Sofia's body with unconcealed desire.
"Release them!" Sofia shouted in agitation.
"Oh? And what if we don't?" The leader of the thugs glanced at her with a teasing look.
Arlan grabbed Sofia's hand and placed her behind him. He eyed the thugs coldly as he muttered. "If you guys don't release them, I'll break your bones!"
The thugs turned their gazes to Arlan. He was tall and intimidating, but he was unarmed. When they heard his words, they laughed until their bellies hurt.
"Hahaha! Did you guys hear what he said? He said that he was going to break our bones! Hahah!" The leader of the thugs pointed his steel pipe at Arlan as he looked at him in disdain.
The others thugs laughed along with him.
Sofia grabbed his shirt as she muttered nervously. "Arlan, they are dangerous people. Don't provoke them..."
"Don't worry. They are just a bunch of trash." As soon he said these words, his figure flashed as he moved like a phantom.
He punched the nearest thug in the chest, sending him back a few meters!
Seeing this, the leader of the thugs immediately shouted. "Kill him!"
After hearing their leader's command, the thugs raised their weapons as they charged toward Arlan with unfriendly gazes. They were criminals who weren't afraid of the law. They didn't mind staining their hands with blood!
"Be careful!" Sofia cried out in alarm when she saw this. She hurriedly grabbed her phone and dialed the emergency number. "Hurry! A group of thugs is attacking people here! The address is..."
Arlan's gaze was calm as he looked at the thugs who were running toward him. "A bunch of inexperienced fools..." He muttered coldly as he effortlessly evaded the weapons aimed at him. While doing this, he threw out punches and kicks, incapacitating one thug after another!
Soon, only a few thugs remained and they couldn't help but stare at Arlan in fear. This guy managed to knock out their comrades despite being unarmed.
"Who are you?! Are you an officer?!" The leader of the thugs stared at Arlan warily. No ordinary person could defeat a bunch of thugs in less than a minute!
Arlan ignored him and proceeded to knock out the remaining thugs. No one could stop him and after less than twenty seconds, the only person standing was the leader of the thugs.
"We are subordinates of Sir Leandro Manzano! Stop at once if you don't want your life to be in danger!" The thug leader warned him.
Arlan moved like a specter as he casually blocked the thug leader's steel pipe with his arm. He didn't even flinch when the steel pipe hit him!
"Dammit!" The thug leader cursed in fear.
As soon as he got near the thug leader, Arlan grabbed the man's neck and lifted him off the ground as he looked at him coldly.
The thug leader struggled and he tried to break free from Arlan's grasp, but he soon became unconscious.
Arlan threw him away and patted his hands clean as he muttered. "These clothes are new. It looks like I have to buy new ones..."
Sofia and her family couldn't believe what they had seen. One man actually managed to subdue a group of armed thugs! It was unbelievable! If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, they would have thought that they were dreaming!
"Cool!" Loyd exclaimed in admiration, but his face soon contorted in pain. The beating from earlier made him look like a panda.
"Mom, are you alright?" Sofia quickly ran towards her mother and untied the rope tied to her.
"I'm fine..."
Weeeooooweeeeeooohhh!
Soon, the loud blaring sound of the police car's siren echoed in the neighborhood.
