The rich fragrance of brown sugar wafted from the door. Shen Yin propped herself up to take a look and saw Lian Jing holding a tray in his hand. On the tray was a big bowl of sugar water and a bowl of noodles. The side dishes were all her favorite dishes.
“Why did you bring so much? Didn’t you just go and make a bowl of sugar water?” She took the chopsticks in surprise. Although she was puzzled, she could not resist the fragrance of the food. She lowered her head and ate a large mouthful of beef.
Lian Jing smiled and patted her back to calm her down. “Eat slowly. I’m not fighting you for the food. I thought that you might not have eaten enough at dinner, so I grabbed a bowl of noodles. Do you like it?”
“You cooked this yourself?” Shen Yin’s eyes widened in surprise. She took another bite of noodles and slowly chewed it. Her eyes half-closed in delight. “I like it. It’s very delicious. Nian Nian must have inherited his culinary skills from you.”
Lian Jing laughed at her silliness. He leaned closer to her ear and hugged her waist. “Feed me.”
“Huh?” Shen Yin was so shocked that her hands shook. With a mouthful of noodles in her mouth, she asked in a muffled voice, “Y-you didn’t eat enough just now?”
“I want to try it too.” Lian Jing reacted quickly and found a reasonable excuse.
Sure enough, Shen Yin believed him. She picked up some noodles with her chopsticks and brought it to his mouth.
Lian Jing finished the food in her hand and said calmly, “Other than Nian Nian, has any other man cooked for you?”
Shen Yin was stunned for a moment. She carefully looked at his expression and asked, “Does my grandfather count?”
Lian Jing laughed helplessly and reached out to stroke her hair. “Can I ask you a question?”
“Go ahead.” Shen Yin took a bite of the beef. Her earlier frustration had been completely replaced by happiness. This was the first time she could still maintain a good mood when her stomach was in severe pain during her period.
Lian Jing stared fixedly at her gluttonous look. His heart suddenly beat faster. “Shen Yin, if I had come to look for you later after I found out that you had a
child, would you have gone on a blind date?”
Shen Yin almost choked. She had an embarrassing coughing fit and her face turned red as she tried to stop her coughing. “W-why are you suddenly asking me this question?”
“You just have to tell the truth.” Lian Jing’s expression was indifferent, as if the outcome was not important to him.
However, Shen Yin knew him too well. The colder he appeared, the more he cared. If she really admitted that she had gone on a blind date, he would probably throw a tantrum.
However, while Shen Yin was thinking about how to tell a half-truth and muddy the situation, she looked up and inadvertently met Lian Jing’s eyes. Suddenly, she could not tell a lie.
She sighed softly, her face filled with helplessness and affection.

“Yin Yin.” Lian Jing suddenly reached out and hugged her waist. He flipped her over and pressed her against the blanket. His Adam’s apple bobbed nervously. “Are you serious? You didn’t just say this to make me happy, right?”
Shen Yin still had her arms around his neck, her beautiful eyes sparkling as she stared at him. “Of course it’s true, Lian Jing. I’m not with you because I want Nian Nian to have a happy family, but because my heart has always belonged to you.”
Lian Jing took a deep breath and could not help but lower his head to absorb the warmth that belonged to him. However, before he took the last step, he suddenly stopped and rearranged her clothes guiltily. He hugged her and leaned against the headboard again. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be so agitated. I should not touch you now.”
When Shen Yin saw that he was panting heavily and seemed to be uncomfortable, she suddenly gloated. She picked up the bowl of noodles again and stared straight at him while chewing non-stop.
Lian Jing could not take it anymore and covered her eyes. “Eat properly. Don’t keep staring at me.”
Shen Yin looked away with a smile. After eating and drinking the brown sugar water, her stomach miraculously stopped hurting and she felt a little more energetic.
She obediently cuddled with Lian Jing and drew circles on his chest. Taking advantage of the congenial atmosphere between them, she finally asked the question she was most concerned about.. “By the way, you haven’t told me what happened between Meng Meng and Fu Ting?”
