256 Grievance

“Brother-in-law?” Shen Luo’s eyes widened. She suddenly thought of something and her face flushed slightly. She nodded obediently and quietly. “I understand. I’ll thank Brother-in-law.”

Zou Sheng felt that her tone was suspicious, but he could not tell what was wrong.

Having seen how unreasonable this girl could be, he did not want to be alone with her in case she pestered him.

He nodded casually and fled from the lounge like he was avoiding a plague.

Late at night, Shen Yin and Lian Jing had just eaten their fill and were holding hands as they strolled along the road.

The chauffeur followed behind them at a moderate distance so that the two of them could get into the car and go home at any time.

Lian Jing pointed at the full moon hanging in the sky and asked her with a smile, “I’ll officially introduce Nian Nian to the Lian family during the Mid-Autumn Festival, okay?”

Actually, even if he did not say anything, those smart people from the Lian family already knew most of it. However, what they had heard was one thing. It was another thing for Lian Jing to personally acknowledge it.

The public introduction would confirm that Shen Nian was Lian Jing’s only son. In the future, he would be the only heir of the Lian family.

Shen Yin held his hand tightly and lowered her head, feeling a little uncomfortable. However, Shen Nian was indeed Lian Jing’s biological son. He treated Nian Nian very well and was a good father. She had no reason to stop him.

Lian Jing could tell that she was in low spirits and could not help but smile. “What’s wrong? What are you thinking about?”

Shen Yin shook her head decisively. She looked up at him and forced a smile. “It’s nothing. Let’s do as you say. You’re Nian Nian’s father. It’s natural that you publicly acknowledge your son.”

Did this woman really think that he would only acknowledge his son and not acknowledge her as the child’s mother and his future wife?

Lian Jing stared at her eyes inquisitively, but he could only see complete calm. He said uncertainly, “If you have any concerns, you can tell me directly. I will always follow your wishes.”

Shen Yin knew that he would do anything she said, so she suddenly felt a little aggrieved. She swallowed a lump in her throat while the little voice in her heart repeatedly complained about how inconsiderate he was.

He acknowledged his son openly but did not mention anything about her as a mother. Was she only his secret lover?

However, she would never let such words leave her mouth.

The more aggrieved Shen Yin felt, the calmer she looked. “I don’t have any worries. This is good. I will never object to anything that benefits Nian Nian.”

Lian Jing sighed. He knew that she was feeling awkward. He pulled her into his embrace. He hugged her slender waist and his eyes darkened. “Do you lack confidence in me, or are you underestimating yourself? Hmm?”

“What?” Shen Yin looked at him in a daze, not understanding what he meant.

Lian Jing was amused by her foolish expression.

She was so serious and had precise intuition when handling cases. Why was she so slow when it involved herself?

Why was he so fond of this little idiot? Lian Jing could only helplessly explain to her word by word, “I can’t wait to announce to the world that you, Shen Yin, are mine. Why would I ignore you, the mother, when I publicly acknowledge Nian Nian? Are you an idiot?”

Shen Yin blinked. It took a long time for his meaning to sink it. When she remembered that there was a chauffeur following them, her face instantly turned red.

She pushed him away in a panic and denied it stubbornly, “Why are you suddenly saying this? Of course I knew.”

“Really?” Lian Jing raised his eyebrows and stared at her suspiciously.

“Of course!” Shen Yin felt relieved, and a smile finally appeared on her face. She was completely different from the dispirited person just now.

Lian Jing kindly did not expose her. He held her cold hand and said, “It’s very late. Let’s go home.”

The two of them had just returned to the car when Shen Yin’s phone suddenly rang.

Meng Heng’s tired and pleasant young voice came from the phone. “Sister, the case is closed. Captain Wu specially asked me to tell you that you’ve worked hard recently. The captain and the bureau have agreed to give you a day off. You can rest at home tomorrow.”

“Alright, I understand.” Shen Yin secretly looked up at Lian Jing’s gloomy expression and coughed dryly. “You guys have worked hard too. Have a good rest. I’ll hang up first.”

After putting down the phone, Shen Yin looked into his eyes and sighed silently. “Little Meng is just a child. Why do you keep arguing with him?”

Lian Jing snorted and crossed his legs elegantly. He stared straight ahead at the back of the seat. His cold side profile coupled with the mocking smile on his lips were intimidating.

The esteemed President said coldy and with lofty contempt, “He’s just a little kid. He’s not qualified to be my rival in love.”

“Really?” Shen Yin raised her eyebrows in imitation of him, and stared at him suspiciously.

Lian Jing was a little anxious, but he still maintained his composure. “Yes, if you didn’t mention it, I wouldn’t even remember that his surname is Meng.”
