Chapter 146 - Summer Fashion

"I accept!"

Les McBurnz accepted the job to work for Albion before he was given a bonus of $5000 in cash that came from Albion's Ashura Ring.

Nevertheless, such a sight was not seen by Les McBurnz as he assumed the Young Master was practically stuffed with cash under his clothes.

Sometime later, Albion wrote down his number and passed it to Les McBurnz, "Go have a meal and make yourself look neat. You can contact this number after you're done."

"Yes, Young Master Albion. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to turn my life around," Les McBurnz gave Albion a respectful bow before leaving.

Little did he know what he was signing himself up for. Or rather, what it truly means to work for Young Master Albion.

"I guess it's time to head over to the Metti Gang's casino and check it out," Albion muttered.

With his bags of meat skewers, rice cakes, dumplings, and crepe in hand, Albion left the hidden street food market in the alley and headed out into the open space.

He followed the map shown on his cracked screen, taking a few left and right turns, and walked a few hundred meters around the big shopping district filled with high-end stores and luxurious restaurants.

Roughly fifteen minutes later, Albion stopped in front of a fancy building with Roman-style architecture, made of beautifully carved white limestones and towering large pillars.

The front entrance was guarded by two stone lion statues, while a long red carpet was seen running straight down the aisle. A prominent plaque hung above the revolving glass door, where the building's name could be seen clearly.

Eastern Allure Casino.

Despite the name, the casino's design incorporated multiple cultural styles and modern tech to achieve a unique architectural construct that compels people to stop and admire it like a work of art.

"So, this is the Metti Gang's headquarters? Not bad," Albion nonchalantly commented.

Just as Albion was about to enter the casino with all his street food, he was suddenly stopped by the two security guards standing beside the entrance.

"Halt! You can't come inside, sir." The security guard on the right stated with a sharp gaze.

"Why?" Albion raised an eyebrow and nonchalantly asked, "Is it because I can't bring in outside foo—"

"Your attire doesn't meet the requirement to enter this building, sir." The right security guard stated respectfully.

"What?"

Albion was dumbfounded.

The security guard didn't nitpick at his street food, but his clothes? He was definitely dressed correctly in his smart button-up shirt, pants, and black leather shoes.

"The f*ck do you mean my attire doesn't meet the requirement? Are you trying to pick a fight?" Albion questioned displeasedly.

"Not at all, sir."

Albion furrowed his brows before wondering, 'Did the Metti Gang receive a divine message from the God of Wealth and Fortune that a troublemaker was coming in today or something?'

Alas, Albion eventually noticed the guard's eyes were directed on a particular part of his upper body—or rather, it was the bullet hole on his ribs, not far below the armpit.

"You're not letting me because of one hole?"

"That's right!" The other security guard strongly affirmed before stating, "This is a high-end establishment. If you want to enter, you need to look classy. Not like some hobo."

"A single hole is enough to label my attire as looking like some hobo?" Albion muttered with amusement before shaking his head.

He straightened his back before he calmly stated with a disappointed sigh, "It seems you know nothing."

"What do you mean, sir?" The security guard frowned.

"Your ignorance supersedes you. Fine, let me enlighten you. This hole is what you call summer fashion. Ever heard of air ventilation? It is designed like this to prevent sweaty pits in summer, Capiche?" Albion spoke shamelessly with a perfectly calm and confident look.

His art of bullshitting was so profoundly mastered that his lies could be taken as the truth. Even knowledgeable people would be baffled and doubt themselves after hearing Albion speak.

This was his charisma.

"Is…is that so? I apologize for not knowing better, sir."

"It's fine, it's fine. Now you know." Albion patted the two security guards' shoulders with a smile while holding his bag of street food, causing some grease to stain their uniforms.

The security guards' lips twitch but said nothing. For some reason, there was certain pressure emanating from Albion that compelled to give him some leeway.

Shortly after, Albion proceeded to walk past them—only for him to be stopped again when he attempted to do so.

"No outside food, sir."

"…"

Albion was speechless.

"Now you bring that? Couldn't you have said that first?" Albion shook his head before saying, "You like money? How about I give you both $2000 each, and you let me in?"

"This…"

The security guards glanced at each other with hesitation before Albion directly increased the amount, "$4000 each."

"…"

"$6000 each!"

"Done!"

The security guards eventually surrendered to Albion's temptation, unable to resist the allure of money as their eyes beamed at the stack of cash handed over to each of them.

"We hope you have an enjoyable experience, sir."

"We hope you have an enjoyable experience, sir."

The two security guards spoke with beaming smiles before Albion grinned back at them, "Oh, don't you worry about that. I definitely will!"

No matter what kind of amount Albion gave away, he was confident in earning it back in folds— or perhaps, many folds even.

"Bahaha! Of course, of course!"

"We shan't keep you for longer, sir."

The security guards laughed and gestured respectfully for Albion to enter, thinking he had complimented their establishment for being top-notch and that entertainment was certainly guaranteed.

Shortly after Albion disappeared inside, the right security guard grinned, "There's a lot of new faces these days. That person was definitely the son of some powerful family or rich tycoon."

"Right. Not only did that young man give us $6000 each, he definitely going to lose a lot more to gambling. Maybe the boss will give us a raise!"

The two security guards happily discussed their bright future, grinning ear to ear, completely unaware that they had allowed a hungry wolf into their den.
