" Yes, yes. Tomorrow morning. Get it done. Take the team and get some sleep first I will ask someone to guard this place." Samuel hung up his phone and sighed. He told Steve and Arthur about tomorrow's plan; it was important to do so because of growing concern for their safety.
" Where have you been? Is everything fine back at home?" Mayra was the first one he saw when he entered the room. Others were still waiting behind her, but for some reason, they looked uneasy.
" Yeah everything is fine. What's happened to them?" He asked in return.
" Nothing, we were talking about your family and few things came up. Now they are scared, try to act cool not to scare then even more. They are still in shock." She whispered to him.
He understood what was happening; only Manager Kim knew about Samuel's true identity, so it must be the first time others had heard about him. It was only natural for them to react like this. They had been pretty rude to him until now; it was worth it if he could avoid unnecessary questioning!
" So, you still want to hear my answer?" he walked up and asked Mi Sun, who was trying to make her body shrink by his mere presence.
" No, everything is fine...sir." She perked up on the bed and responded to him in a low voice. She acted completely different from earlier.
" Sir? Great, you finally know your place. Does anyone else have any questions? Miss Yoona? Miss Soo-jin?" He called out two more outliers, both turning away their heads. He enjoyed teasing them, but it only made them more scared of him.

"Hahaha, I am only joking. Am I that scary?" Seeing a smile returned to his face, they all breathed a sigh of relief. They had faced few powerful men in their career, but the things that Mayra told them paled compared to anyone's background that they heard.
It even got Samuel curious: what exactly did she tell them to make them like this? But it was short-lived as they reverted to their previous self, seeing Samuel's cheerful mood.
" Yes, I thought I was going to die! I have seen in movies how wealthy families would make people disappear in thin air. I felt like I offended you a lot since we met." Mi Sun said with a bitter smile.
" Me too, I always hear that life was cheap at the top." Yoona added.
" Hey come on! Little- I mean, Sami is not that type of person right?" Soo-jin still had faith in him.
" How would you know? You just met him!" Ningning wasn't far behind with her criticism.
" Sami! Are you doing bad things to aunties!?" Elise stood between them and directly challenged Samuel. She was trying to protect Mi Sun when she saw her looking uncomfortable in his presence, but her puffy cheeks made her look cute.
" Aww, is our princess looking after AUNTIES? That's good, but I am not doing anything. They are a little old so they get scared easily!" Samuel pulled her cheeks, which made her squirm in pain.
" You- I am still in my early twenties! How can you call us old!?"
" Eh? it's not my fault. Elise was the one that started it."
" You little-" Kayla smacked Mi Sun's forehead before she could swear.
" There are children here. Mind your language."
" How can you hit an injured person!?"
" It's a minor scratch! Don't make it sound like you broke a leg or something!" They began going back and forth. It was midnight already, and with Elise bobbing her head due to sleep, it was better if they wrapped up their little meeting.
" What the hell is happening here? Why are you yelling? Do you want to wake up the kids?" Just then, Michella came back and scolded two of them. Ultimately, they had to apologize sincerely while everyone laughed, covering their mouth.
" Stay the night. It's is dangerous going out in the dark, I will prepare few rooms for you we have plenty of empty ones here." After breaking the fight, Michella proposed.
" We shouldn't, we have overstayed our welcome. It's best if we returned to our hotel suits." Manager Kim wanted to turn down her offer.
" It will be ideal. I will arrange someone to collect your things and send it directly to airport. If you leave now, they would hardly get few hours before departure." Samuel also thought it was a good idea.
" If you say so, thank you for everything. I should go and check out our room, are you guys coming?" Manager Kim asked.
" Alright, Sami? You will be here in the morning right?" Mi Sun asked Samuel, to which he nodded.
" Alright, we are going ahead first." He and the girls left with Michella. Samuel took Elise and laid her on the empty bed before facing Kayla and Mayra. They could tell he had something important to say to them.
" How is work?"
" huh? Are you talking about police work?" Kayla asked.
" Something like that, I hear that you are entitled to a month of paid leave annually? Have you used it already?"
" Why are you asking her that?" Mayra was as confused as Kayla.
" Ah right, what about your company? Is it different than the labour rules if one works for non-profit?" Instead of answering, he posed the same question for her.
" Can you get to the point!? Why are you asking us that?"
" It's just... I am thinking about visiting home for christmas and I wanted to bring you guys with me including Elise. It's fine if you refuse-"
" I am in!" Mayra answered immediately. Kayla looked at her excited face and was baffled by how easily she accepted his invitation. It was the same for Samuel, who didn't know what to say next.
" Are you sure? There is no pressure or anything."
" I am fine, I have been meaning to head back home to meet my family too. It's been few years since I met them, you know with nature of our relationship it hasn't been easy for either of us." Mayra had a sad expression when she talked about her family.
" Baby.." Kayla, too, felt her pain. Other than her grandmother, it was the same for her family, but she knew it was worse for Mayra because she came from a different culture that resented this type of relationship.
" What about you?" Samuel couldn't refuse her when she was making such a face. It was too much for his heart! So he asked Kayla for answers.
" I have to ask Grandma, but I know she would agree but I need to prepare. When are we leaving exactly."
" Tomorrow."
