Chapter 472 Rescue-1
" Young master!" Everyone stood in attention when they saw Samuel coming out of the vehicle. He left the ghost soldiers to protect Grace Generation members, along with Mayra and Elise. There were clear worries in their eyes, so they dared not to slack in front of Samuel.
" It's alright. I heard everything; thanks for your good work." Instead of scolding them, Samuel praised them for their efforts. They could have done nothing if they were facing such powerful adversaries.
Hearing him not reprimand them, they breathed a sigh of relief, but that didn't mean they didn't feel guilty about it. It could be one of the lowest points for the organization since its inception. With dozens of high-level guards, it was hard to see they fail to protect one little girl.
" Get back to work, treat those that were injured and prioritize on locating Elise." He ordered, and everyone went back to work with brisk movements.
" You don't have to be here. Go back inside and take a look at her." He said softly to Kayla, who was desperately looking around for clues. Work was important, but Mayra's safety must have been weighing on her mind.
" Alright." Kayla didn't say much and followed one of the guards inside the living area. Samuel stayed behind to see if anyone missed something.
He could see the courtyard littered with gas explosives, and his heart tensed thinking about it. What if they put more explosives inside the bomb? If it were not a gas device, wouldn't that mean everyone was lucky in this case?
He could have been greeted with body parts and a river of blood; just thinking about it turned his eyes cold. He had been delaying his responsibilities for a while now, but now the situation seemed to have escalated to the point that it was threatening people closest to him!
He tried his best not to let out his bone-chilling aura, but one look at him and any average person would be scared shitless. He vowed to end whoever was behind it once and for all! While he was surveying the courtyard, he received an unexpected call; it was Steve, who hadn't contacted him since he landed in Paris.
" Y-young master." He sounded distressed over the phone.
" What happened to your voice?" Samuel thought there was something wrong. Did they already get attacked? Wasn't it too planned? Were they finally coming out of the shadows? Several questions floated in his mind.
" I am sorry, it's nothing. I...just-"
" Give me the phone! Boss, this is Jane." Jane snatched the phone out of Steve's hand and started speaking.
" Yes, Jane. Is there something urgent going on?" Hearing the team was together, Samuel felt he overreacted, so he wanted to end the call and focus on Elise first.
" Yes, we got a rough location of the Miss Elise-"
" What!? How?" Samuel was shocked to hear her name. The last time he listened to their report, Jane and the team must have been over in the Middle East. How could they already know about Elise's kidnapping?
" We were following a lead through Europe and ended up in France yesterday. It was a total accident that we captured an assailant that was stalking some celebrity. Oh, she was seen with Miss Emma and Master Derrick." She added.
It seemed like they didn't know much since they landed one day prior, but he was shocked to listen to her report of stalking. She began elaborating and told him about the increased traffic of hired assets in Paris. That's how they could track and question a few people.
It was pure coincidence that the last guy they captured was someone gathering information on Kim Bo-mi, one of the members of a girl group that was left behind. At first, they didn't want to get involved since they had more significant problems, but since they found out that Derrick and Emma were also staying with her, they decided to move.
Samuel was feeling helpless; his enemy's capabilities far surpassed his expectations. He could efficiently deal with them, but he couldn't be in the same place at the same time to protect everyone. With no lead on Elise yet, he was sure she only had a few hours with whatever those people wanted to do with her.
With their capabilities, she could be flown out of the country or disappear without leaving any trace, and by the time he could find her, it would be too long. He was dreading up to this point, but Jane's call gave him a renewed sense of hope!
" How did Elise's name came up?"
"It was accidental. It was because they wanted to blabber as much as they want to minimize...the pain. Sir Arthur was the one who interrogated. I am sure you can imagine everything else." She didn't give much, but hearing Arthur was there, too, made him understand.
Being a top assassin in the world, Arthur had several skill sets, and torture was one of them. He didn't personally see it, but hearing that fazed Steve, one of the toughest guys he knew; it must be intense.
" Alright, nice job. Send me the address and meet me there as soon as possible!" He didn't have to hear anything else. They were on a clock!
" Boss, we can handle it-"
" No, I must be there. Don't do anything hastily, they are highly skill and it unlikely you guys could take them on alone." He said seriously.
" Okay, I am sending you the location. We still didn't have the exact location, he only know that it was close and they were ordered to meet in the vicinity. They are a careful bunch." She didn't want to agree, but knowing Samuel, he would go alone if she denied his request. She also felt the enemy was a lot trickier this time.
If not for Arthur, they couldn't have found the person. They exchanged a few more things about firearms and meeting place before hanging up.
Samuel immediately rounded up his men and swiftly headed to their destination. He left Kayla out of it and hadn't even met others before leaving. It would definitely upset Kayla, but he could deal with her later.
