Zack's eyes looked around the entire battlefield while immediately contacting Snowie through their connection.

[ Where are you? ]

[ Wrapped in flames and trying to talk to Gajeel. ] She replied a few seconds later as Zack's pupils shrank.

He looked at the flame-covered Gajeel before he raised his right hand and parted some of it aside.

Clinging to Gajeel's tail was Snowie who had a shield of ice surrounding her. The dragon had her eyes closed as she was trying to talk to Gajeel and pull some sense into him.

A power burst shot out from her body once in a while and thickened the ice around her. Zack blinked for a few seconds before letting the flames cover Gajeel's body again.

'So that was the reason he was so frozen and was not moving.' He thought before looking down to see that the citizens of Doogle Mansion were completely safe and sound.

The snake had also been defeated so there was no further danger for them.

[ Zack, I hate to say it but I think we didn't notice one more thing… ] Lance faked a cough before taking a deep breath. [ Do you see Eva anywhere? ]

"For fck's sake!" Zack cursed out loud as he scanned the crowd to find the familiar twinge of red hair.

There were a few females with red hair in the crowd but none of them were Eva. While openly cursing, Zack flew down to the ground and started looking around the rubble.

His eyes started glowing as his gaze passed directly through all the destruction caused by Gajeel. Many dead bodies were lying around yet none of them were people he knew.

[ Zack, calm down! It's not your fault if something happened to her. ] Lance tried to calm Zack down as he flew above the entire Doogle mansions.

'Whose fault do you think it is? I should have been paying attention to her and not on the fight.'

[ Are you thinking what you are thinking? If you hadn't paid attention to the fight, you would have either died or someone else would have died. ]

'Then they could have just died.' Zack snapped back as his eyes brushed over red hair. His heart skipped a beat before regaining a normal heartbeat.

[ Zack, you used to value human life so much. Even a single dead body would be enough to make you want to find the one who killed the person if he or she was a good human being. What happened to you? ]

Zack didn't reply as he suddenly stopped flying. He then closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

He relaxed his eyes for a few minutes before opening them wide and looking around. His gaze pierced through two kilometers.

He went through every single dead body in the radius before releasing a sigh of relief. Eva's body wasn't amongst the dead yet that didn't mean that she had been found.

[ Try contacting her. ] Lance suggested as Zack had finally calmed down. There was no knowing what would happen if he lost his calm again so Lance decided to make sure that he didn't slip up in any way.

Zack instead raised his hand and directly called Eva. The latter didn't pick up the call as Zack decided to try something else.

He had tried adding Eva to his guild but it hadn't worked. However, he had tried messaging her privately the same way one did in Hikari.

A screen had popped up in front of them saying 'Work in progress. Since then, he hadn't tried using the option to contact Eva.

Zack crossed his fingers before using the messaging feature.

[ Where are you? ]

This time, his message went through and nothing interfered.

[ I am currently tied and a pair of women are taking me somewhere. Well, they are my maids so I should have expected someone to bribe them or control them. ]

Eva replied a few seconds later as Zack's eyes became grim. His heart was beating wildly in his chest as he looked at Gajeel's flaming body before sending messages to his teammates.

[ Look after Gajeel and Snowie. Message me if anything happens but there is a chance that I won't appear. Hold on till then. ]

Zack then shot off while asking Eva to share her location using the messages.

"Off he goes…" Emma muttered as she didn't get the chance to ask Zack where he was going. But judging from his expression, it was clear that something urgent had come up.

Emma felt as though Zack was just going to do something dangerous which would be followed by a chain reaction.

'But in the end, things would become the same as in the past. We will once again be fighting against them and trying to survive.' While clutching her fist, Emma turned her gaze towards the two dragons.

Both of them were still wrapped in flames since Snowie was trying her best to make sure that her friend survived.

'Ice and steel. An unlikely friendship if we go just by those elements.' Emma thought while looking at the blue flames slowly dimming.

The further Zack went away from them, the weaker the flames would get. Emma was ready with her bow in case Gajeel went into a rage after the flames vanished.

She knew that she couldn't stop him for long and even if the group combined all of their powers, it would still be very hard to stop the dragon.

The flames receded even more before turning into a kindle of flames. Snowie was still wrapped around Gajeel's tail as the ice around her stood solid.

Every single person watching the scene held their breath. Only Lisa didn't pay attention to the dragons and kept creating formations.

She had a clear goal in her mind and that was to get Gajeel's help. The power of a steel dragon who could control almost all metals was going to be extremely helpful, especially in a war.

'Just a bit more…' Lisa thought before she drew one last symbol and saw the formation spark to life.

She cheerfully jumped in the air as a gray halo appeared above Gajeel. The ice around Snowie's body suddenly melted as she flew away from Gajeel's tail.

"It's done." She said in a final tone before looking at Gajeel. The dragon had once again turned into a human yet something about him was different.

"Fire, Ice, and Steel," He muttered slowly before taking a deep breath and sighing. "Who could have thought that they would merge together to create history. In the end, the tale of ice, fire, and steel came true."

"What are you saying?" Hayden asked with a confused expression as Gajeel started to chuckle humorlessly.

He could already tell that Zack had set out and judging from the way he looked, he would soon be able to remember another major portion of his memories, including the moments he met a few important people in his life.

"Fire, ice, and steel are three things that never mix together but a prophecy from the only steel dragon said that there will be a time when the three will interact together and break the limits. It was a prophecy from thousands of years ago."

Snowie murmured as she finally understood the meaning behind Gajeel's words.

"Many thought that the oracle referred to the said species of dragons interacting but they were wrong. It referred to a man, a woman, and a beast," A dark smile appeared on Gajeel's face. "I think a huge chunk of land is going to vanish today. Better prepare for the shock to hit here too."
