"Ok?" Jonathan then raised his thumb to his mouth and casually bit it before putting it forward.
Lance dived down and sat on Jonathan's hand before he bent down and… licked the blood.
Zack decided to leave both of them to it and averted his gaze as Jonathan gave Lance a tear. The Phoenix then proceeded to close his eyes and looked inside his soul to see if there was any connection.
"Aha! I did form a contract with your family which made me your guardian." Lance announced the next second as Zack raised his eyebrows.
"You telling me that you donated your eyes?"
"I am pretty sure I was about to die and passed them on as a symbol to preserve some of my powers. Now that I think about it, those gems contain my power."
"What a great yet dumb idea," Zack commented as he raised his right hand and concentrated.
A second later, a blue gem popped up in the palm of his hand. He then gave Lance a look as to say "here is your gem" and tossed it into the air.
Lance didn't think twice as he moved forward and caught the gem between his beak and swallowed it.

"I guess most of the power got lost after all the centuries that passed," Lance muttered as he grew in size.
He soon became the size of Zack's entire lower arm or rather the size of a normal eagle.
'Speaking of eagles, I wonder how Daedalus and Icarus would feel when they will see that their boss has shrunken down this much and lost most of his strength.'
A mischievous smile appeared on Zack's face as he suddenly saw a notification pop up on his quest menu.

'Why did this ping up even though it remains the same?' Zack wondered before looking at Jonathan who looked as though he had just met his idol.
Lance on the other hand was more interested in seeing what powers he had managed to unlock before asking Zack about the second gem.
"It's with Emma."
"Good. I will at least be able to reach level 200 in this manner. Should be enough to breeze through this place."
"Sure…" Zack muttered while remembering the many disasters that had happened with him despite him being a high-level player.
Lance too was going to face that reality now that he was a high-level beast too.
"So Johnathan, what is going to happen now? Did you have any luck in contacting any of the kingdoms?" Zack asked as his voice broke Jonathan out of his gaze.
The king shook his head as the grim expression appeared on his face again.
"I didn't have any luck in doing that and neither did the Ruler of Arnia."
"Who is that?" Lance suddenly interrupted as Jonathan began explaining.
"He used to be our temporary guardian of sorts before something changed it. Now, he rulers over the entire forest spread throughout the kingdom."
"And what is his name?" Lance asked as he felt something ticking inside his brain. For some reason, he felt as though he had heard the name before.
"He never told me that…"
"No worries." The Phoenix then flew behind Zack and let the two of them talk with each other.
"As I was saying, we have lost all forms of connection. However, the girl named Snowie has been very active in the underworld. She did tell me that all of the kingdoms have started gathering supplies in an abnormally huge amount."
"They are preparing in advance…" Zack muttered as he wondered what were the chances of him winning in a war.
During the kingdom war arc in his past life, all of the kingdoms had their guardian beasts backing them while the Eizenburgh kingdom had the most amount of players in it.
He didn't know a single thing about the three guardians or what powers they held. He had no idea about their levels either so he wasn't that sure that Daedalus, Icarus, and Lance would be strong enough to battle them.
"I will go and check up on Snowie for now. If anything else happens, do call me." Zack said after thinking for some while.
He then made his way away from the palace with Lance silently flying above him. Both the Phoenix and Zack were in deep thought as they tried to figure out their next course of action.
They made their way to the dumpster in this manner Zack stepped inside it without a second thought. Lance was too busy to even notice where they were and followed Zack.
As soon as the two of them stepped inside, they appeared in the warden's office which still looked untouched.
[ Snowie, appear in the warden's office.] Zack called out to the dragon girl while sitting in one of the chairs in the office.
Snowie appeared inside the office a few seconds later as she respectfully bowed in front of Zack before going ahead and sitting in front of him.
"So you managed to reach level 60 huh… The leveling speed of beasts is indeed very frightening as compared to humans." Zack muttered before explaining everything Jonathan had told him.
Snowie listened with full attentiveness and took a minute to reply.
"So I have to find more information on what is happening inside these kingdoms while trying to make sure that I don't let anyone change sides. All of the others have already emptied all the bases and even the major city so nothing can be done about that."
"Just do that and everything will be good," Zack replied before he paused.
He had been thinking about whether he could bring her to his real world. The thing was that Snowie didn't have even a hint of what Earth was.
Though she had fought alongside him and knew that Hikari had been taken over by the gods, she didn't know anything else.
"Snowie, how would you feel if I told you that there was a 'real' world outside this one?"
