Chapter 396: Li Mu’s Tribulation

The two forces collided.
The more powerful force originated from the Dragonian.
Every demon species turned to look at Dragonian, and wondered, “Is the supreme-level Dragonian about to send out a god-tier challenger?”

If these forces escalated and were blown out of proportion, other grand ancestors may mistakenly detect enemy attacks upon the Dragon Clan and awake from their slumber before it was time. When that happened, the Dragon Clan would sustain way too much harm and damage.
Legend had it that even that emperor-level experts stole a sliver of the Heavenly Pathfinders’ rules and were never well-tolerated by them ever since.

There was no other way but to go into the Deep Slumber.
The only way one could avert tribulations was to enter a deep slumber. If one did not choose this option, any hint of progress would flee from his grasp.
“The other ancestor will wake up and fall asleep again.”
“What if the ancestor detects the force?”

The Dragon Clan experts around were buzzing in anticipation.
It would be a lifetime’s honor to be able to witness not only the birth of an emperor-level expert but the wakening of a grand ancestor.
Although, no one could imagine the burden and bitterness that the Dragon Clan elders carried in their hearts.

All of a sudden, a streak of purple lightning appeared out of nowhere and wrapped around the Demon Smelt Tower like a dragon.
Coming into contact with the purple force, the Demon Smelt Tower was under attack as its surface started to fry, giving off loud cracking and zapping noises.
The Old Dragons which surrounded the tower had their dragon-scale armours raised in attention.
“Retreat!”

The old dragons hurriedly retreated.
They were all experts at the advanced stage of the Soul Formation realm. Similarly, they were all old dragons who survived all kinds of thunder tribulations. All were shaken, coming face to face with one another.
“I hope the grand ancestor is okay!”
“I wonder what the Demon Smelt Tower brought back?”
“Sigh!”
After exiting the forbidden area, the few Old Dragons finally withdrew from the core of their force field. They thought they finally could lift their heads to look at the vast skies around them.
Alas, it was not the case.
While they could project their divine senses, each attempt was interrupted and destroyed by lightning.
One of the elders even suffered damage to his divine sense, which was destroyed by the Fire Tribulation. In fact, the Old Dragon almost lost his consciousness in the face of the tribulation by fire.
Looking at the Demon Tower and the Dragon’s shadow in the Tribulation, the Old Dragons were worried. Including the Azure Dragon and Black Dragon who rushed over after hearing the commotion.
“Are the Dragon Clan experts undergoing the tribulation, or is it there something locked inside the demon pagoda?”
“I only detected a surging dragon essence, but there seems to be a Human energy emanating from the tower.”
“It’s impossible that our Dragon Clan ancestors would be trapped in the tower. If you felt the dragon essence surging then it most likely is a Dragon Clan expert still stuck in there.”
The Red Dragon harbored a guess.
This was the only logical explanation as to the combination of a surging dragon essence, coupled with lingering human energy.
It appears that this particular member of the Human Clan had gone through many years of tribulation and training, and had a sudden revelation that he was about to reach emperor-level.
And that Old Dragon had gone through countless years of baptism to preserve its existence. Today, only its aura, the essence of its life force remained.
One wondered how the member of the Human Clan was able to live for so long.
In ancient times, the alchemists working for the Human Clan were many folds more powerful. In fact, crafting Longevity Pills was a piece of cake.
Moreover, what if the imprisoned human fell into a deep slumber after a sustained struggle?
“So, the Demon Tower is asking the Dragon Clan for help?”
An Old Dragon inferred what the Red Dragon said. The guess sent a chill into his heart. He exclaimed, “This is indeed possible. I could think of no other reason.”
“Once that person breaks through to the emperor level, the Demon Tower might not be able to seal him.”
It would indeed be very difficult to seal an emperor-level expert.”
The Dragon Clan members were exchanging wild guesses.
Outside, the demons looked to the endless sea in shock.

Upon encountering an emperor-level weapon like the Demon Tower, Li Mu did not expect that it would be such a comforting and relaxing environment – he was rewarded with perpetually gentle sunlight, accompanied by the spring breeze.
Li Mu was extremely comfortable now.
Li Mu was indeed comfortable. Under the three tribulations of wind, fire, and thunder, the Demon Tower began to rumble.
