Chapter 123 123. Grey Wolf King
It took a while before Nina could calm down but she eventually did.
The feeling of Lucius hugging her didn't make her flustered or panic, instead it brought with it a strange sense of comfort? and security.
With this new feeling of calm, Nina slowly entered a meditative state and began using practising her mana gathering technique:

"So how was it?" asked Lucius a little curious
"It was amazing. Compared to a few Pixie Lilies, the effects of your scent were far superior, at least a. Large bath of pixie's tear lilies would be needed to match these effects!" Said Nina with obvious? excitement .
"I need to compare it with the pixie's tear lilies a few more times? so I have a wider selection of? solid data but the results have all but been confirmed."
With a new discovery looming? the girl couldn't stay still and moved towards the group of Pixie's tear lilies
Lucius watched Nina with a smile for a few seconds before his expression quickly collapsed.
Lucius didn't even have time to think, before his body flew forward

The second they left a hint paw crashed down on the floor leaving a giant crater behind!
It was only at this point did Nina realise that Lucius had saved her life.

Standing opposite him was giant? feral beast covered? in thick coat of grey fur, staring at them with red, hate-filled eyes
"A grey wolf…" muttered Lucius
The grey wolf in question was a massive monster with a size? at least? 3 times larger than its fellow species, standing at the same height as a bus.? Despite being covers in fire it's terrifying sucked we're clearly visible, rippling with every movement
"This isn't a regular grey wolf, it's a? grey wolf king… That's at least a peak 2nd class monster."
In fact, this monster actually shows signs of breaking through to become a 1st class monster.
Thinking about it, that's probably why it was lurking around this area so much.
Pixie's tear lilies were a 1st class magical plant.
If he could consume this batch of lilies the grey wolf king could break its limit and become a 1st class magical beast but now Lucius and Nina had come,

"Nina, if you're worried you should go to the back pack and get out the flares gang Diana gave us. With her here we'd be able to easily deal with this monster.
Lucius? knew that the fight was based on pure? base Stats were but Lucius didn't know that he would still be surprised if he entered his berserk state.
The grey wolf king could also sense Lucius's aggression and bared its teeth whilst tensing its muscles as it released the aura cultivated by ruling over a species as it tried to suppress Lucius
But when Lucius saw this he just sorted in outrage.
A murderous spark of crimson lifting flashed in his eyes as the terrifying aura of a mad dragon burst out from his body pressing down, the wolf King's body? by a few inches.
The wolf King's ears slumped slightly as it took a few steps back in shock!!

The wolf king couldn't believe its eyes.
But whilst the wolf king was still stunned, Lucius flew forward.
His sword glistens as it thrust straight o for the wolf king's eyes!
The wolf king only managed to snap out of its stunned state at the last second.? it? quickly tilted? its head to the side avoiding Lucius's sword skewering it through the eye. But the wolf king wasn't completely out too the woods, the sword still managed to catch the side of the wolf king's face leaving a terrifying gash as a bucket of blood was splattered throughout the air
"HOWL!"
An infuriated howl of the wolf king shook the forests as the wolf king flared at Lucius but all it was met with was the cold gaze of a set of eyes even redder than the bloody? mist surrounding him.
The wolf king rushed forward and fought with a ferocity it had not had to show for a while since it became king, but Lucius was already prepared for this.
Using his trained footwork Lucius stepped out of the range of the wolf's attacks and the ones he couldn't avoid or he felt like he didn't need to, Lucius would use his advanced Sanctuary Sword technique to masterfully deflected the force from the massive wolf to the side.
If the? opportunity presented itself Lucius would deflect the attack and use the opportunity to close the distance and a slash away at the wolf's unprotected underbelly, causing the wolf king's attacks to become? even more ferocious, but it was all futile
The level of swordsmanship had left the wolf king completely helpless
See, Although Lucius had been confined to a bed these past few weeks his mind was fully functional.

Seeing the approaching giant, Nina shivered and froze in fright but before the grey wolf king could get close a furious figure wrapped in red lightning dragon scales crashed into the grey wolf king sending it flying into a nearby tree.
Despite getting? brutally? hit and shaking its head to sober up the wolf king had a purely vicious smile on its face which only made Lucius's expression more ugly? and it was deserved.
The wolf king? had perfectly grasped Lucius's weakness, from now on it would be the one with initiative.
Lucius? knew that Nina would be in danger from now and called out.
"Quickly use those flares!"
Nina was? the most panicked , she realised just how little she was contributing to Lucius in this fight.
If it was just? Lucius alone, he could easily take care of the grey wolf king, but now? that he had to protect her she was just being a burden.
But as she looked her face became more panicked and desperate
"L-Lucius, I can't find the flares, I think they may have fallen out."
Hearing this Lucius face turned a little ugly
"Fall out? When?"
That's when Lucius realised it

Lucius made sure he secured the important scientific equipment but he didn't pay much attention to everything else, after all, in his mind those were all cheap items that could easily be replaced.
Now there was no flares to call for backup the situation could only get worse

At first glance they seemed to be endless.
Now the grey wolf king was really starting to show its true power. After all, what use was a king without its subjects?
In just mere moments a group of smaller sized grey wolves were gathered? around the feet of the grey wolf king , greedily eyeing Lucius's body.

A bright light suddenly erupted in the sky drawing everyone's attention.
Lucius didn't know when but a fireball had now exploded in the sky.
A first Lucius was surprised before his face suddenly rust out with? a bright? smile

Although Nina wasn't a fighter she was anything but stupid, if there was no flare available she would use the fireball as a way to generate a flare herself!
But Lucius's good mood was destined to not last for long as soon as symphony of howls echoed out as a wave of grey wolves rushed towards him .
Lucius didn't back down and walked to approach them blocking their path towards Nina like a stalwart wall.
The sword in Lucius's hands began to buzz as it burst into a storm of red hot flames.
Lucius stepped forward and swung his sword bisecting through five leaping wolves leaving behind the sucking stench of blood burnt flesh.
But even with that two wolves managed to break through relying on sheer numbers and bit down hard on Lucius's waist.
"Crunch!"
Fortunately, Lucius was wrapped in a set of hard scales so although a terrifying crushing force was applied, Lucius's skin wasn't pierced.
But this didn't mean Lucius was unaffected, no, on the contrary, Lucius was fucking furious!
A terrifying red light flashed in his eyes as hair scaled hands clasped around the throats of the biting wolves, lifting them high and crushing their throats before crushing their throats throughout their desperate yelps.
Lucius tossed over the dead bodies to the feet of the wolf king in a clear blatant taunt.
But the Grey wolf king was destined to be the one with the last laugh as right after the body landed Lucius heard a set of howls from behind him and these howls weren't just anywhere, they were coming from Nina's direction.
Lucius's face instantly collapsed as he turned away from the wolf king and rushed towards Nina.
But? the wolf king was already prepared as a wave of wolf was rushed out but did different? form last time , the Grey wolf king was at the front leading them!
Lucius wanted to ignore them and focus on rescuing Nina but he new doing so was simply suicide.
So with a truly enraged expression on his face Lucius's brandished his sword? and slashed out to meet the claw swipe of the grey wolf king
"Bang!"
Lucius met the strike of the wolf king's head in sending shockwaves rippling through the air, but the other grey wolves took this as a chance and began to? snap at his lower body,? but they were instantly met with a terrifying kick shattering their bones.
Lucius decimated the surrounding grey wolves and tried to break through and reach Nina but the second he made a breakthrough the Grey Wolf king would pounce forward with a ferocity that left Lucius stunned.
Lucius fought back brutally tearing apart the wolves all around him but he soon realised that breaking away from the Wolf King would be impossible without sacrifice.
With that Lucius ignored the incoming attack of the grey wolf king and and clenched the sword in his hand as the muscles in his back squirmed
At the same time The eyes of the grey wolf? King lit up as she clamped down on Lucius arm.
"Crack!"
The sickening sound similar to the sound of popping? popcorn sounded in Lucius ears as the pain caused his face? grimaced but he ignored it and locked onto the wolves that were lunging towards and three his sword forward
"Boom!"
The were was a sonic boom as the sword tore through the air with a deafening screech
The force was so terrifying that as the sword passed through the body of the wolves they exploded in the sky like a burst pi?ata!
The brutal sight was enough to leave the nearby wolves stunned but it only lasted for a short time.
Not too long after the wolves regained their confidence? and started to move towards Nina again.
This time Nina was prepared and made the decision to stop sending fireballs into the sky as flares and managed to summon a mana shield to surround herself and protect her.
But although Lucius saw that Nina was safe he didn't breathe a sigh of relief.
Instead he felt the anger in him begin to surge again
Seeing the greedy eyes of the gang of wolves, that he could crush with a mere finger, continue to stalk and surround Nina, Lucius's mind was overcome with so much rage it nearly went blank, and as this was going on, a terrifying amount? of anger and hatred built up in his throat.
"ROAR!"
For a few seconds after that , the world seemed to freeze
The sound that reverberated through the air was terrifying!
Like rage incarnate, the sound travelled through the body and mind of every creature? present filling them with the berserk madness that was bubbling? in Lucius's heart, freezing them
In place as they struggled to overcome the force of pure madness itself!
The grey wolf king was forced to take steps back in terror and dismay as it struggled to shake off the maddening effects
But although it was bad for the grey wolf king it was even worse for the grey wolves
The approaching swarm froze in place, they didn't dare move.
The ones that did move had lost all sense of sanity and plunged into pure hysteria!
The feeling they all felt? was something instinctual to them
It was The warning of an archaic crazed beast not to intrude on its territory.
They instantly felt like they were in the territory of a monster? and taking or more step could only mean death!
