Chapter 109 109. Mr. Hoffman's explanation

Thank you Mr Hoffman ." Said Lucius politely

"You don't have to thank me. I actually came here to talk about something important today, it's about your talent."

Hearing this, Lucius's body flinched a little as his eyes narrowed slightly. But even though he was on guard, he didn't panic. He had already been expecting this, after all, he had just transformed into what could nearly be considered a monster. It would be strange if the academy didn't investigate him!

Lucius didn't panic and said the explanation he had long since planned.

"Actually I'm not too sure how the talent came about myself. I recently went out to polish my skills against the monsters in the endless beast forest but eventually, I ran into a monster with what I could only guess was 2nd class beast strength.

The two of us fought fiercely but I was seriously injured and on the verge of death when my body was suddenly filled with strength allowing me to transform into this strange state. For some reason after that, I just gained the ability to enter this state at will."

It was a rather bland explanation but as long as it was theoretically possible then the academy would have to accept it.

But what was surprising was that after hearing Lucius's explanation, Mr Hoffman nodded as if he was slowly coming to an understanding of the entire process.

"The state you showed was quite similar to a barbarian's rage state," said Mr. Hoffman

"Yeah I guess so," said Lucius a little puzzled

"Yes! Although a barbarian's rage state has many magical characteristics, at its core, it is still primarily a biological process. In fact, it's quite similar to the state of stimulation and adrenaline you feel in life-threatening situations to push your body beyond the limit

On the verge of death, your blood and body must have reached a similar state to when you secret adrenaline pushing the body past its limits and in doing so your blood returns to its ancestry stimulating the barbarian blood in your body and entering the rage state."

Lucius listened to such a thorough explanation, stunned for a few seconds before he furiously nodded his head.

"Yes! Yes! That must be it!"

Looking at Mr.Hoffman Lucius couldn't help but nod In satisfaction.

The knowledge from his past life was indeed correct. When lying it was better to leave more blanks than to try and fill it out. Humans would always try to fill up the gaps in explanation on their own.

"But what surprises me is that you have barbarian blood in you. You never mentioned any such thing in your application or recommendation into Sanctuary. Is there any reason for keeping it a secret?"

Hearing this, Lucius quickly disproved any suspicions of hiding anything

"I really didn't know that I had any barbarian blood before now. I'm Just an orphan so I didn't know anything about my heritage. my parents have had a trace of barbarian blood or maybe they were even pure-blooded barbarians themselves, but I know absolutely nothing"

"Well, that masked sense but it still doesn't explain the Draconic characteristics you show during your rage state. Do you have any explanation for that?"

Lucius just gave a helpless shrug In response to

"Hmmm…"

"Is this really the truth?"

Lucius looked at Mr Hoffman with no change in expression and nodded to reaffirm his words

It was clear that Mr. Hoffman didn't believe the entire explanation, he suspected there was something hidden but at the end of the day he chose to suppress his suspicions.

It was never a good idea for a teacher to pry too deep into a student's private life after all.

Thinking like this Mr.Hoffman just sighed

"Well then, I'll take your explanation as the truth for now. Besides there's another thing I want to ask you. Besides the mutated rage talent, was there another talent that you developed during this time?"

Fortunately, Lucius's response didn't disappoint Mr Hoffman.

"Through practice and learning, I also developed a sword talent."

Hearing his Mr. Hoffman showed a rare smile

"Haha! I guessed as much. Seeing how much your swordsmanship had improved during the battle. I Knew your supreme student talent must be at work!

So what was the grade of the sword talent You developed?" asked Mr. Hoffman

"Well.. it was a Blue grade talent .." replied Lucius

"What!!!"

This time, it was nearly impossible for Mr. Hoffman to stay calm.

The fact that he could 'develop' a talent after just some of

The general training he had undergone this past few weeks left Mr.Hoffman flabbergasted.

If he could know the truth that these talents actually came from flirting around with girls, the poor old man might have his heart stop.

But because Mr. Hoffman couldn't know all this, his thoughts were running wild.

"Wouldn't it be possible to say that you could develop a purple talent by the end of the year? No, maybe you could even develop a golden talent by the end of the year?"

The way Mr.Hoffman looked at Lucius suddenly changed all

of a sudden

'Monster! This kid is a monster! Although it's different from that Landon kid, this guy could easily tune into a monster of the same calibre as that freak!'

Thinking about this, although Mr.Hoffman was a little excited to have two amazing talents in his class at the same time he also found it a little exhausting.

Managing the training of geniuses, especially those like the two in his class would never be easy

'These two… maybe they are at the level of the direct descendants of the heroic bloodlines!'

Such a thought and realisation just made Mr. Hoffman sigh in amazement once more.

He had to thank his lucky stars, there were no more direct descendants

Although Mr. Hoffman didn't have any personal grudges with the Heroic families, their hegemony had just been going on for too long.

He was looking forward to an underdog who could shake things up!
