Chapter 108 108. Visitors
Several seconds later, Veronica had placed a plate of peeled apples in front of him.
Seeing this Lucius just weakly raised his arms showing off his helplessness
After seeing this Veronica was left speechless
"You… you actually want me to feed you?"
Lucius just shrugged.
"Who wouldn't want to be fed by a beauty?"
"Humph! So Shameless."
Lucius didn't say anything to dent Veronica's words and just watched as she
At the end the day even with her verbal protests, Veronica blushed as she used a fork to feed him
As Lucius crunched the apple, a fresh and sweet flavour exploded in his s mouth, causing Lucius to kick his lips in delight as he exclaimed
"Damn! This is really good"
Seeing Lucius lick his lips in delight
The familiar haughty expression subconsciously appeared on Veronica's face as she stuck her chest out proudly
"Humph! That's because these aren't just any ordinary apples. These are quite apples worth at least 5 gold coins a piece. They are said to have been magically blessed to achieve such a wonderful flavour. You don't know how lucky you are to eat these. If it wasn't because of my connections, you could have never seen this hard-to-get fruit."
As she was speaking Lucius could see the arrogant expression he hadn't seen in a while appear once again in all its glory.
Seeing this Lucius just smiled as he shook his head.
'Well, no matter what happens a leopard can't change its spots'
Although Veronica had changed a lot since the first time Lucius first met her, deep down inside, a part of Veronica would always be that haughty noble girl filled with her own strong pride, and to be honest, Lucius found it kind of cute.
Of course, Lucius didn't say this out loud or else he'd have a particular annoyed noble girl coming after him.
Lucius's mind was filled with these idle thoughts as he ate another juicy apple that Veronica fed him.
As this was going on, Veronica looked at him closely and paused all of a sudden
"You know Lucius, I originally misunderstood you."
Hearing this Lucius raised an eyebrow in confusion and asked
"What do you mean?"
"Originally I thought you were nothing more than a vulgar commoner and after that, I even thought you were a violent gangster and even pretty scary but now I know you're not that type of person. Instead you are in fact very kind."
Hearing this Lucius didn't know what to say and just scratched his head in embarrassment.
"You know, it feels great knowing that such a beauty has a high opinion of me but I'm really not as good a guy as you're making me out to be."
Hearing this Veronica smiled as she shook her head
"That's a thing I noticed. Every time you do something for me, you always want to play it off nonchalantly but at the end of the day regardless of why you did it, it doesn't change the fact that you did it for me and that's why I… that's why I…"
As Veronica was speaking she suddenly paused before her face went red.
Lucius saw Veronica's eyes closed with a hazy light as she placed her hands on his face and moved forward.
Lucius was instantly alerted and wanted to move away but his body was just so damaged it wouldn't even respond.
Before Lucius even realised what was happening, Lucius could feel a soft sensation press against his lips.
Lucius's eyes widened in shock as his mind was left blank for a few seconds.
Before Lucius could even ask a question, Veronica turned around and bolted out of the room like a timid rabbit
"W-what was that."
Still feeling the warm sensation against his lips, Lucius was left stunned at the sudden change but it was soon after that he realised another problem
'Fuck! Now that Veronica's gone, how am I supposed to eat all those apples!'
Because of this realisation, for some reason even though he had just been kissed by a jaw dropping beauty Lucius really felt like crying .

Outside of the hospital room
Veronica dashed out the door sprinting down the hallway and turning the corner before slipping down on the floor placing her hand on her chest to calm down her restless beating heart
"Kyaahh!! Veronica you dummy! How could you do something so stupid!"
Veronica wanted to bury herself in a hole. She really wanted to go back in time to punch her past self for doing something so stupid and impulsive.
But after panicking for a little while, Veronica soon calmed down.
The cat was now out of the bag so there
This was the pride of a noble and the pride of a member of the Beaumont family.
Now she had shown her desires openly, she could only push forward and acquire them at all costs!

A few hours after Veronica had left the room Lucius was left to his own thoughts which were predominantly him thinking on planning on how to deal with the mess in the revolutionary army, when he suddenly heard a sound at the door.
"Knock! Knock!"
"Come in," said Lucius, sitting up from his bed.
Soon he heard the sound of the handle twisting as the door slowly creaked open.
Unfortianley Lucius's eyes weren't so lucky as to be blessed another time today, since this time, Lucius wasn't greeted by this sight of a beautiful girl but instead a stern looking middle aged man.
"Err.. Mr. Hoffman.."
"Nice to see you student Lucius, you just don't sound too thrilled to see me."
Lucius's mouth twitched as he heard Mr. Hoffman speak with a straight face.
"Well it doesn't matter. I brought a gift for you."
As Mr Hoffman spoke he pulled out a glowing vial from behind him and placed it in front of him.
"It's a recovery potion. It will greatly increase the rate at which your body heals itself."
Seeing this, Lucius groaned as he reached out for the bottle.
"Thank you Mr. Hoffman."
