In the dungeon,

"Let me out!" Pesa screamed at the top of her lungs, pulling on the chains clutched on her wrists.

The concrete walls shook due to the strain as she pulled.

She looked around and could only make out a wooden bench fixated to the wall, the dimly lit room gave her little to go with.

Her eyes darted everywhere in search of a way to escape if she had the opportunity.

"It's pointless to think of an escape," Kritz watched her with an indifferent gaze. He could tell she was as impatient to leave just as any sensible person would.

Pesa gritted her teeth and glared at him, she had not expected to be treated in such a way, especially not after being Hisha's harem.

Kritz rolled his eyes and focused his attention temporarily on the loose button on his red jacket. It was only a matter of time before his lord would arrive.

All that was needed was to watch over her and make sure she made no trouble.

The guards couldn't be of help in this situation as they are not allowed to be as close as he was to their lord's harem.

'It would have been nice to have sheep brain spark up a silly conversation to lighten the mood.' Kritz wished in his thoughts.

A smile made its way to his lips but immediately turned into a frown when he had seen Pesa's blue eyes glow.

As a fay, it was only sensible to keep his distance from her, he would not risk inviting trouble to himself by killing her to save himself of her mind control.

"Please shut your lips, your puny attempts of struggling disgusts me." Kritz sneered.

Pesa paused for a second and switched glances from her wrists, there were red marks that had been a result of her struggle.

She couldn't afford to be present when Hisha arrived after he was done with the harem–that would spell doom for her if she didn't reveal her plans.

"You can't do this to me!" She cried, pouting and whimpering. "I'm innocent, please let me go."

'Innocent? Do I look stupid to you that I wouldn't be able to tell?' Kritz scoffed and rolled his eyes.

When he narrowed his eyes and raised the corner of his lips, he had seen to a particular degree what had happened, but that could never be comparable to the bad vibes he had observed about her.

"You had tried to kill an immortal..." Kritz suppressed his chuckle as he spoke, "how is that working out for you?"

He shook his head and turned his attention towards the only ventilation in the chamber–a small window that could barely fit a head through.

The only source of light that cast its light on the stone floor.

When the decision was made to get his lord's harem, he had been excited about the prospect of a much livelier environment, but after just a few days in, he had wondered if this was a decision that would be able to stand the test of time.

It had also brought more problems to his table, they had inadvertently invited masked enemies into the citadel, prompting him to constantly wonder who else could want to betray his lord.

"Kritz, you know I couldn't do that." Pesa solicited.

She wanted him to stare into her eyes and get lost in them, play on his conscience to get her release, but no matter how she had tried to reach out to him, he wouldn't as much as spare another look her way.

"It's pointless trying to get to me, so I would suggest that you–"

Creak!

The door leading to the dungeon pulled open and in came Hisha taking long strides as he walked, he had a stern look on his face with his hands shoved into his pocket.

Kritz had tried to think of the possible reasons why his lord's mood had changed.

[Kritz is trying to read your mood, host]

Hisha cast a gaze on Kritz's way to affirm the words related. Immediately he locked eyes with Kritz, the latter immediately looked down in respect.

Not wasting much time, he walked up to the dungeon and placed his hand on the metal bars. "How are you enjoying your private room?"

Pesa blew on stray strands that fell on her face and whipped her hair back. Her eyes glowed as a burning hatred began to resonate from within.

Hisha felt the aura and brushed it off with a shake of his head, he still didn't understand what sort of malicious intent she had in store for him.

Curiosity led him to move his face closer to the bars, his focus on those eyes that carried so much hate.

"How could you take up such a difficult burden all on your own?!" Hisha hit the bars in frustration.

She was the first that had made him take such an unprecedented approach, even Alta was never put in such a situation.

"..."

Pesa went silent, refusing to say a word. If she could keep the secret buried in her, then so be it.

'HTC I would like to know one thing, what's the probability that I can have something of hers that would make her concede?'

Ding!

[Ability Extraction]

The corner of Hisha's smile began to grow into a grin as he took in the information explained by HTC.

Pesa's face turned pale at Hisha's actions, he didn't seem angry, yet he was grinning?!

Opening the metal door, he stepped into her dungeon room space and squatted.

Pesa flinched and pushed back, "don't come any closer!" She cried and closed her eyes as she prepared for the worst.

Hisha looked behind him and saw Kritz watching both of them. Signaling him to give them some alone time.

Kritz nodded his head and quietly excused himself.

Confirming that Kritz was no longer present, he glared at Pesa. "If you think you can get away with this, you have forgotten who I am."

Pesa's heart raced to an alarming degree at the impending approach to where she was forced to lower her actions.

"Tell me who put you up for this?" His cold voice made her tremble in fear. fre(e)webno(v)el

'Do not get triggered by this, it's bound to happen. All you need is this little clue.' Hisha thought of calming himself.

Being overly sensitive to this sort of issue would take him nowhere. If that would mean he uses an ability specifically made for his harem, he was sure to test it out the soonest.

[Would you like to use this ability?]

'If this would get her to talk, it won't hurt to try.' Hisha readily agrees to the activation.

[Ability: Extraction]

"I would ask you one more time, why did you try the impossible?"

"..."

"Have it your way then." Hisha shrugged and pretended to be uninterested.

With wide shocked eyes, Pesa pulled hard on the chains, pushed back, and shook her head to avoid the touch of Hisha. She had been made unconscious once, but not again.

With the flick of his finger, he aimed at her shoulder as a diversion. When she was properly distracted, he gently patted her head.

A sense of calmness washed over her, and the thought of struggling out of his grasp was buried at his touch.

When she tried to activate her ability since he was in close range, her jaw dropped.

"What did you do to me?!" She questioned through gritted teeth, putting up another attempt at pulling on the chain much harder than it was originally meant to hold back. freewebnov el.com
