"Welcome to our small city, Xytra. I'm sorry this is not how we usually welcome our guests.

But, I hope Sir can understand our circumstances…there are many things we have to pay attention to, and even more we have to repair."

A young man said to Jason in an apologetic voice while bowing deeply.

Even after the Shadow walker alliance had retreated, Jason's entire being was struggling to get a grip over himself.

He and Solaris seemed to have different opinions of what they were supposed to do.

Solaris wanted to pursue and kill every single Cultivator of the Shadow walker alliance.

Jason, on the other hand, didn't want to needlessly pursue them after they fled.

All his attention was on how his entire body was out of control.

In fact, it was not his body that had a problem, but their fusion which was still incomplete.

Jason's body had begun adjusting to the heat of Solaris' flames that had fused with every single cell of his body.

It was already a wonder that he was still alive considering that his cells must have been damaged or burned.

However that was not the case, and it was more likely for the fusion to have prevented these kinds of injuries.

Despite that, his mana core and mana veins felt extremely hot which was rather inconvenient in the current circumstances.

He was struggling to control the mana that circulated through his body for the first time in decades.

Only by averting his focus to the mana circulation process was it possible for his mana fluctuations to come under control.

It took him quite a while to do so because the mana circulating through his body uncontrollably had caused them to fluctuate wildly.

Because of that, Jason hadn't even noticed that the Specta stage powerhouses had left his side once the battle ended.

They had returned to complete their respective tasks.

Meanwhile, the young man, whom one of them had just welcomed, had arrived in front of him.

A moment later Jennifer appeared by Jason's side, instinctively grasping his shoulder, worried whether he was fine or not.

Yet, she quickly retracted her hand as Jason's entire body was releasing an unbearable heat even after his fusion with Solaris was dissolved.

"Are you fine, Jason??" She asked worriedly, only to see him give her a light smile.

By transmuting the mana that circulated through his body with the moonlight affinity, he was regulating his body temperature. H

His body was slowly cooling down, and any kind of injury he might have received was healing simultaneously.

However, there were no injuries, to begin with, and Jason simply smiled at Jennifer before telling her that he was fine.

Afterward, he turned towards the young man, who was eyeing the two of them.

Looking at him, Jason asked the most important question he had on his mind.

"I don't need any kind of grand welcome. Instead, can you tell me where I can find Inadan Sadon?"

The question itself had caused Jennifer to stiffen for a moment before she looked at Jason, worry in her eyes.

The young man repeated the same movements of Jennifer, only to be confused as he looked at Jason with a question mark seemingly materializing in front of him

"Oh…Sir, do you know Lord Sadon personally?"? He asked, but it was barely a moment later that he saw Jason shaking his head.

"I don't know Lord Sadon, but it would be great if we can meet him once!"

This caused the young man to furrow his eyebrows as he blurted out,

"Sir, you fought alongside Lord Sadon, and I do not know where he is… he is probably busy taking care of the city…I do not know when he'll have time."

The answer of the young man proved Jason's earlier assumption to be correct, and after thinking about it for a moment he turned towards Jennifer.

"I guess we'll stay here for a few days. You don't need to rush anything, alright?" Jason calmly spoke to Jennifer, who had planned to leave as soon as possible. She had hoped to spend at most one day in Xytra to meet her father, and try to figure out the truth before leaving.

She didn't want to stay long in Xytra, and neither did she ever want to return.

As such, Jennifer was biting on her lower lip, only to nod her head.

She reluctantly accepted that they couldn't do anything else right now.

Jason and Jennifer simply told the young man that he should inform someone, who could get in touch with Lord Sadon.

They also asked him to state that someone who was well acquainted with Luna, and Jules wanted to speak with him.

Both names didn't ring any bells to the young man, who was slightly confused but he simply nodded his head, accepting the task he had been given by the man who had played a major role in protecting the city.

However, before leaving to pursue the given task, he told Jason and Jennifer that a room had been prepared for them and that they could ask for anything they wanted.

That was the least the city could provide them with because they didn't even live in the city, and still, they had fought to protect it.

In fact, many people were staring at both Jason and Jennifer with jealousy and wide eyes, unable to grasp how these young people were so powerful.

In the end, Jennifer was barely at the Ascendion stage but she was strong enough to fight more than a dozen Initial Ascendion stage powerhouses.

And this included talented individuals too.

Meanwhile, Jason was on an even more monstrous level because he didn't enter the Ascendion stage yet, but his combat prowess was fearsome.

Nobody was truly able to grasp how powerful he was, but it was definitely worth filling them with dread and apprehension of being on his hit list.

Like Jason, even Jennifer had not revealed her entire combat prowess because she was hiding her true appearance with which she could increase her strength even further.

It was similar to a button she could press in order to transform to her true form that would allow her to fight mightier opponents.

Unfortunately, she had to hold back, otherwise, the elaborate plan she and Jason had come up with would shatter before anything could even start!

To Jason, it didn't matter if someone else was thinking highly of him, or if he was looked at with jealousy.

What truly mattered was seeing their plan work and Jennifer meeting her father, even if it was only for a few minutes and the end result to be different than what Jennifer hoped for.

Jason didn't have high hopes about this talk, but he didn't say anything to Jennifer.

Instead, he decided to stay by her side and if it was necessary, he would console her whenever she needed.

Through this, she would know that she was not alone.

This was the least he could do for her which was better than facing her father while being alone.

Yet, to their misfortune, Jennifer was the only one who was invited to the chamber of Lord Sadon, a few days after the attack on Xytra had passed.

Jason wanted to disregard this and go with her, but she said that it was fine for her to meet her father alone.

As such, she left to talk with her father, and Jason couldn't help but feel bad about this.

It made him nervous, and it was only after several hours passed that Jennifer returned to their room.

Her expression seemed oddly fine, and a trace of hope emerged within Jason.

But then he frowned to see the complex set of emotional hues that enveloped her tightly.

Thus, he stood up to ask how she felt, but before he could even ask she forced a smile on her face as she said,

"He told me that he acknowledged me as his daughter…only for today…so…It looks like I don't even exist in his world."

Afterward, she bit on her lower lip, and without holding back, she approached Jason to hug him tightly, hiding the tears that trickled down her cheeks.
