Chapter 160 - Future Plans

After Yuna finished providing some sugar for the two people inside the Hokage office, she made her way back to the Uzumaki compound. Although it was getting rather late, she was in no hurry to get home, so she was only leisurely strolling through Konoha's streets while thinking about what she had achieved today.

'That went rather well. Although I don't really consider the council members my enemies, it is still good that I managed to get rid of them. Well, I guess I haven't gotten rid of them just yet but it is just a question of time, now. Considering how much material I gave to Tsunade I hope she gets rid of them as fast as possible. It is just a matter of time before these parasites try something against the Uzumaki clan and I would prefer to get rid of them before that happens. Well, it is not like they could do anything worthwhile against the Uzumaki clan, but I would rather get rid of them before they even get the chance to try.'

'The next annoyance I should get rid of is definitely Danzo. At this point in time, it is pretty much impossible for him to do anything against me inside Konoha, and I think he should be pretty close to his breaking point by now. A few more weeks, maybe a month and he should slip up. Actually, if I were to get my hands on him in the next few days, Tsunade could use that as the perfect starting point for cleaning up the council. It is a pity that Danzo never bought any of the Uzumaki clan products due to his mistrust. I mean, how paranoid does someone have to be to not buy a clan's products, just because he is enemies with one of its members? It is not like the Uzumaki clan would scam him just because he is my enemy.'

[Well, you kind of put spying seals in the privacy seals, so isn't his mistrust rather on point?]

'What are you talking about, Kurama? How could that be considered him being scammed? All the privacy seals the Uzumaki clan sells are like that, so he is getting the same treatment as every other customer. The Uzumaki clan treats all his customers equally, no matter who they are, you know.'

[Urg, I get it, I get it. Please stop with the "you know".]

'Hehe, okay, okay, I will stop.'

Truth be told, Yuna was rather annoyed about this verbal tick as well. Even Yuna herself would occasionally almost let it slip out, which was beyond weird to her. She could perfectly control her body and chakra, but a little verbal tick actually caused her problems. She could only attribute it to some kind of weird genetical defect of the Uzumaki bloodline.

'Oh well, after getting rid of the council and Danzo, I guess the only annoying group that still remains in Konoha is the Hyuga clan. That one is a little trickier, though. Considering I am immune to their Gentle Fist while I am using Kurama's chakra cloak I could probably just invade their compound and start slaughtering, but if I were to do that, then there would really have been no point in playing nice with Danzo all these years. I have already decided to stay inside Konoha for now, and don't want to throw all the plans I made away, just to get rid of a bunch of people I don't really care too much about.'

'I guess the best way to handle the Hyuga clan would be to get someone from the branch family on my side and have that person collect everyone who is willing to rebel against the main family and remove their seals. Another possibility would be to just remove the seal from every single branch member, but I don't think that would be enough to cause a rebellion. Considering that all of them got brainwashed to some degree, I am pretty sure that most of them would obediently go to the main family and request that they get the seal reapplied to them.'

[Seriously? Isn't that beyond retarded?]

'Well, it is, but that is just how this works. Pretty much from birth, the members of the branch family have been told that they have to sacrifice their life for the main family. That kind of indoctrination is not something easily overcome. Even if you were to remove their shackles, they will continue doing what they have learned since they were young children. In this kind of situation, it is important to think about why people are doing something. Are the members of the branch family protecting the main family, because they are forced to do so due to the slave seal? No! They do it, because they were taught to do it. That is why just removing the seal won't do much. Rather than being shackled by the seal, they have reached a point where they are shackled by their own minds. Guess I will ignore them for now. Considering that Hinata doesn't care about them anymore, there is no reason for me to give a damn about them either. As long as they don't do anything regrettable, I will permit them to live.'

[How magnanimous of you, ohh great Yuna-sama!]

'Haha, damn straight!'

[…I really wonder why I am still praising you sarcastically when it will be interpreted as genuine praise anyway.]

'Wait! That was sarcasm?!'

[…]

While Yuna was bantering with Kurama, Sasuke, who was back to his male form, was brooding harder than ever. He was currently sitting inside the empty Uchiha compound and was glaring at nothing. He has spent a lot of time thinking about what Yuna told him after he encountered Itachi and he finally came to a conclusion.

'Yuna was right. During my days in the academy, I was indeed treated like I was special, but that is no longer the case. Like every genin, I was assigned a three-man team under a jonin and like every genin, I have to do all these useless D-rank missions. How is that acceptable? I am the only person left in Konoha that has the Sharingan, so why would they treat me like every other genin? Are the people of Konoha trying to hold me back? Why would they do that?'

The more Sasuke thought about it, the deeper his frown became and the more certain he was that someone was trying to suppress him.

'Naruto became significantly more powerful after leaving the academy and even Sakura improved quite a bit, while I feel that I barely improved at all. I did awaken my Sharingan, but that didn't have anything to do with Konoha. No matter how I look at it, I am being held back by Konoha. Should I really leave?'

Sasuke gritted his teeth and covered the seal on his shoulder with his hand. Moments later, he stood up and walked towards his room to collect his belongings.

'I am leaving Konoha to look for Orochimaru. I can still remember the rush of power I got while using his seal. That is exactly what I need to kill Itachi. Even if I have to make a pact with the devil to get my revenge on Itachi, I am willing to do it.'

A few minutes later, Sasuke Uchiha left the Uchiha compound with determination in his steps as he walked towards the direction of the Land of Sound.
