Chapter 28 Training Subject Number One!

Translated by: pokka

The vast and mighty group passed through the buildings of the entire ‘commoners district,’ heading towards the academy’s large central square. With its size making it akin to a stretch of flatlands, this central square was precisely the destination of the Savage Class!

“There’s only a single training assignment this morning. Those who complete it may leave class earlier, whereas those that are unable to complete it will have to skip breaktime and continue until they are finished. Those who haven’t finished by the time afternoon classes come around will have to stay after class to finish.”

“Big Sister Xue, what happens if we’re unable to finish by the time afternoon classes end...?” Fang Ye finally asked his first question, only to make a display of himself.

“Then don’t sleep or rest until you’ve finished!” Her icy cold voice rang out and caused Fang Ye to feel a chill run down his spine. I’ve asked something wrong....

“What kind of training will we be doing?” As a tomboy, Xu Chen was lucky enough to avoid drawing Xue Ying’s displeasure.

“Running! Everyone will do five laps around this square! Bai Xiaofei, your group of four will do double, ten rounds!” As soon as she finished speaking, all sixteen students revealed shocked expressions at the same time.

Around this place?

Five circles?!

We’re only given a single morning?!

Aren’t we all going to f*cking die?!!!

While these thoughts ran through most of the students’ heads, Bai Xiaofei’s group of four were already wishing for death.

If running five laps was potentially fatal, someone running ten could practically start ordering their coffin. Moreover, lunch was already a pipe dream.

“What? Did all of you not hear what I said?” Xue Ying’s icy cold voice rang out once more, causing everyone to shiver as if they were standing on the precipice of a sharp cliff.

For a time, no one dared to speak. Even Bai Xiaofei was no exception.

Yet, nobody had attempted to start the task either. This was because as far as the students were concerned, this was an impossible task. Forget about puppet masters, even Wu Chi’s legs were trembling with fear at this moment.

“It’s fine if all of you don’t want to move; I can make the report that you’re all dropping out right now. All of you can pack up your things and leave tonight. I’ll be happy to live a life of retirement instead of being the teacher of a group of trash!” Xue Ying’s tone was deadly serious, making the students sure that she wasn’t just bluffing.

Subsequently, the first person to move appeared: the tomboy, Xu Chen.

It wasn’t that she was cowardly, but that she didn’t want to leave.

Entering Starnet Academy looked to be simple, yet there were countless people of the same age as Bai Xiaofei and the others on the continent. However, only a few were able to enter Starnet Academy.

To some extent, graduating from Starnet Academy meant that one was already ahead of the curve by a huge margin!

Gradually, all the members of the Savage Class moved to start what they all thought to be an insurmountable task. Bai Xiaofei and the others were naturally no exception, because being expelled on the first day was something no one wanted to experience.

After everyone started running, Xue Ying slowly revealed a satisfied smile before beginning to follow behind them.

Soon enough, the large group of 16 had gradually dispersed into several smaller batches.

Leading the pack was Wu Chi, Shi Kui, Bai Xiaofei, Xu Chen, and Chen Hui. Amongst them, Chen Hui was completely relying on his will to forcefully endure, whereas Wu Chi and Xu Chen had body constitutions that surpassed the others in the first place.

Bai Xiaofei relied on the energy he had stored from taking painful advantage of Qin Lingyan, but even then, he wasn’t wasn’t relaxed at all.

Although his stamina was capable of sustaining him through the run, his muscles and tendons couldn’t keep up.

Behind the group of five was Zhu Si’si, Xing Nan, Ming One, and Ming Two.

Zhu Sisi and Xing Nan had initially taken the lead. After all, both of them were from the Southern Territory that was covered in large mountains, not to mention Zhu Sisi was a Blitz Stream puppet master. However, a swift speed didn’t mean one possessed good endurance, leaving her to be passed by the lead group in the end.

The people behind the second group couldn’t be described as groups any longer. The reason being that besides Wang Hang accompanying Fang Ye, everyone else was struggling by themselves. Mo Ka, who ran at the back, wasn’t even able to see Bai Xiaofei and the others by now.

“If you don’t have the physical strength, then run slowly. If you can’t run slowly, than endure! If I see anyone stopping or walking, I’ll add another lap to that person’s assignment every time I see it!” Right when Mo Ka was about to stop and rest, the urging voice of Xue Ying immediately snuffed out his hopes.

What a joke. If another lap were to be added, whether he would die or not wouldn’t be the question anymore. Instead, it would be whether he would be able to die with an intact corpse or not!

One... Two... Three...

When they arrived at the fourth lap, Chen Hui was unable to persist any longer, and had directly become a member of the third group. His exhaustion was so severe that he even fell behind Mo Ka.

“All of you must learn to properly distribute your physical strength no matter what situation you’re in. If this was a battle, you would all be exhausted before the enemy was wiped out. You all know what that means, right?” As Xue Ying spoke, Chen Hui, who hadn’t spoken a word throughout the entire exercise, flushed red from embarrassment.

“I can’t... I can’t go on any longer...” As she gasped heavily for breath, Duan Yiyi had become the first person to fall to the ground. As a Support Stream student, physical strength was one of her fatal weaknesses.

However, Xue Ying had utterly no intention of being compassionate towards women. Appearing by Duan Yiyi’s side, she met the latter’s eyes with a cold expression before speaking.

“One extra lap. If you still don’t stand up, then you don’t have to eat and sleep today.” Duan Yiyi struggled to crawl up with tears in her eyes, not daring to even glance at Xue Ying before continuing to limp forward.

Duan Yiyi was far from the only student who was in this situation. After seeing her plight however, none of the other students, no matter how exhausted they were, dared to stop.

During the entire process, anyone that passed by would turn around and look, with some people even ridiculing the actions of the Savage Class.

That said, any sign of such taunting had completely disappeared by the time the fourth lap was completed. Those throwing the insults were well aware that they likely wouldn’t be able to complete four laps if they were put in the same position. The Savage Class’ persistence was enough to make them shut their mouths!

When the fifth round began, all those in the first group had already lapped those at the back. Said trailing students consisted of an assortment of limping female students and... Mo Ka...

“Each one of you bring another along and help them finish their runs!” When they passed by the female students, Bai Xiaofei slowed down and pulled Lin Li who was right at the back.

Wu Chi and Shi Kui hesitated for half a second before doing as Bai Xiaofei said, bringing along Zhu Nuo and Duan Yi’yi respectively.

On one hand, it was because they had to listen to what Bai Xiaofei said; on the other hand, since they would die no matter what, why not do some good deeds?

After the three female students were supported, only Mo Ka was left for Xu Chen.

After a moment of conflict, Xu Chen still stretched out a helping hand.

“I’ll bring you along for a lap, don’t lose face for the male students.” As she gasped heavily for breath, Xu Chen pulled on the corners of Mo Ka’s clothes. Xu Chen however, never expected Mo Ka’s response.

“Help Qi Wei who’s ahead. She isn’t in a much better state than I am, and I can deal with it myself.” As he lightly struggled free from Xu Chen’s grip, Mo Ka squeezed out a pained smile as he stubbornly held onto the last shred of dignity he possessed.

Just like this, the members of the Savage Class started their most difficult journey so far!
