494 CH 480: THIS IS AWKWARD
After leaving the house, Adam started riding a car quietly with Natasha in the passenger seat. He could have used the same luxurious car as he did during his last outing with Natasha but he realized that he did not really need to be driving in a car that cost tens of millions of dollars every single time.
It felt weird in a way to him. When he had no way of procuring such a car, there was nothing he wished more than being able to sit in a luxury vehicle like the one he had and ride it all day every day. This was something that had almost obsessed him for many years in a way.
But now that he was able to fulfill that desire… He realized that outside for showing off, there weren't many uses for such a car.
Then again, he did like showing off a whole lot. So there was also that.
"Penny for your thoughts."
"Heh, trust me, Natasha. My thoughts are worth far more than just a few pennies."
He chuckled slightly at the small banter before donning a more serious expression. Driving with one of his minds was like a breeze to him. In fact, he did not even need to use one of his minds fully for that task. On more serious matters, he had asked Tsubasa to observe Shuri and protect her just in case anything happened to her. The utilization of her spiders and her ability to instantly teleport were too handy to not make use of.
Thanks to this, he could send one of his shadows to observe Lucia.
He did not trust the woman. Not in the least. He wasn't stupid enough to believe that just because they had one steamy night of passion and love, she would somehow fall for him and start doing everything he desired, just the way he desired. As he thought, Lucia was not entirely honest while working on the small deals he had asked her to conduct for him. But at the same time, she was not trying to screw him over either. She was simply placing measures to protect her family in case things went south with their deal.
He could respect that about her. Of course, she would still be punished slightly for trying to put measures against him. Just to let her know that he could see anything and everything that she was doing. That her eyes were always on her. It was important to tighten the leash sometimes to remind who was the one in command in this relationship of theirs.

Natasha spoke before wincing a little and covering her ears as if someone was shouting in her head.
Adam laughed loudly at that scene, "I guess she didn't like that evaluation of her."
"Heh. She certainly did not."
Natasha laughed as well before sighing.
"You know… I… I would have never imagined that the wolf I feared could be so cute."
She had a forlorn look on her face. When she thought about how she had been rejecting this part of her for years… Natasha could only imagine the horror her counterpart must have gone through. The loneliness and despair; it was simply unimaginable for her.
"Hey… You did nothing wrong. You had no way to know and as much as it pains me to say, Hugr was indeed dangerous for you."
He continued to drive calmly as he spoke to the two of them,
"Hugr. I know you can hear me. Do not resent Natasha too much for what she did. If I did not cut the malevolence of Fenrir that was still within you at the time, you would have eventually swallowed Natasha unless she managed to fight you and take control."
His eyes seemed to peer at something deeper, "It was both of your destiny to fight each other. It was Fate for one of you to die at the hands of the other."
"And you broke that destiny."
"Yeah… I did break it."
He smiled to himself. Fighting the urge to touch his eyepatch with his hand. He did something that should not have been possible and he was forever changed due to that action.
He did not know if this was a good or bad thing for him. If he was honest, this seemed more like a cumbersome occurrence than anything else.
He had already tried killing himself many times yesterday by using Tsubasa's portals but his eye was not going back to normal or rather, his body had deemed that this was his new normal state. So it was impossible for him to change that state of his eyes.
'How troublesome.'
Adam sighed quietly but he did not regret it. If he was given the choice again, he would do it without the slightest hesitation whatsoever.
After all — This was worth it if it was to save Natasha and Hugr.
"Well. Seems like we're finally here."
They stopped at the entrance of Ahmadou's restaurant. Adam smiled as he could see the excitement in Natasha's eyes.
"By the way. Can she share your sense? I mean all your senses?"
"Huh? Yeah in the past she could only see and hear. But now that we have become closer, she can feel everything I feel."

Natasha was startled at first but soon she understood what Adam was trying to say.
