Chapter 147 Crushing Defeat

With Connor charging at him from the right, Achara unleashing a flurry of punches his way from the left and Sam attempting to kick him to the head from behind, Xavier was stuck between a rock and a hard place. No matter which direction he attempted to evade, he'd still be within range of their attacks, or so it seemed initially.

However, focusing as hard as he could, he almost felt as though time had slowed down. Additionally, even with Sam coming at him from behind, he was still able to visualise his movements. It was a remarkable phenomenon in which Xavier felt as though he might have even had a chance of dodging a bullet. Of course, that wasn't the case. It was only his perception of time that had slowed down, not time itself. In actuality, his brain was analysing his surroundings at unbelievable rates, which led him to a single conclusion.

But that didn't change the fact that it gave him more time to find a suitable solution.

Dodging all the attacks the same way he had done with Sam's was impossible unless he used their attacks against each other.

It was wild to even consider attempting to do so, but what did he have to lose?

Learning from each of them, Xavier had been able to improve tremendously. However, he also knew their attack patterns and the range of their attacks, like it was the back of his hand. And in the split second he had before their attacks landed, he suddenly made his move...

-

Connor was charging in with his full force and power, not feeling the need to hold back against Xavier, who he knew was far more capable than he was. That wasn't to say he could endure his attack, especially in his injured state. But he wouldn't die, and for some reason, he instinctively felt as though his young boss could handle it. Sam and Achara had a similar viewpoint, and they were all right.

Exploiting his extreme flexibility, Xavier leant back so far it was almost as if his body had folded in 2. And as soon as Connor, who closed on him the fastest, neared him, he suddenly jumped back as if he was about to flip.

However, he fought the downward momentum with his tremendous core strength and stood on his hands as Connor slipped past him. Unable to slow down or stop, since Xavier had gotten out of the way the instant they were about to collide, Connor ended up slamming into Achara.

This sent her tumbling backwards, with Connor landing on top of her.

As for Sam, who was still on target to strike Xavier, his kick also missed his target.

Xavier, who stood on his hands with his legs out in the air, was about to be kicked to his legs. They were now where his head previously would have been. But as the kick came his way, he latched onto Sam's leg with his own, just like a snake wraps itself around its prey. Then, using Sam's spinning force, he flung him in the direction of Connor and Sam, in the process jumping back onto his feet.

-

Usually, Xavier's movement would be so fast that most would struggle to comprehend what he had just done, and yet this time they had seen everything clearly. That baffled them even more, as they took a moment to take in the rare sight of the unit leaders suffering such a crushing defeat.

In a pile were Achara, Connor and Sam, with Achara at the bottom of the pile and struggling to breathe with the weight of multiple people on top of her.

"Get off me!" she yelled while pushing them off her.

Then, scrambling up to their feet, the 3 combat unit leaders looked at Xavier in awe.

"You 3 pushed me to have to strain my body," he groaned while clutching his wounds that had opened slightly from the handstand he had done.

However, despite saying that, the 3 of them knew that he had barely used the full potential of his body. Despite that, he had made them look like they didn't even know how to fight. It was utterly humiliating but also eye-opening.

"I just wanted to get some rest," he continued to complain before walking back over to Achara's bed.

"Conserve your energy and don't hurt each other. At least not today," was all he had left to say before closing the door behind him and trying to get some rest.

Standing there, unsure of what to do or say, the 3 unit leaders sat down in a circle and began trying to figure out how Xavier was so skilled.

It couldn't all be talent, right?

Meanwhile, he hadn't made any large movements that were impossible to replicate. Therefore, it was something else that they could learn to wield, no matter what type of physique they had. But before they delved deeply into it, they instructed their subordinates to train their aim and do some light training independently at the other dojos.

Still baffled and amazed by what they had just seen, it took them a while before they actually began to do what they had been told. They had seen how incredible Sam, Connor and Achara were against each other and experienced it first-hand, so they knew not to underestimate the 3 of them.

It was to the point that if they returned to the Wild Dog Fight Club, it wouldn't be too unfeasible for them to be at the top of the rankings or at least in the top 20, which was quite a feat, considering where they were previously.

Yet, when it came to facing Xavier, who was injured and seemingly not even trying his best against them, they couldn't even land a hit on them.

'Just how strong is he?' they couldn't help but wonder, after sparring against him themselves and never being able to tell what his limits were.

'And how strong will we all become if we keep progressing at the rate that we are?'

It was something they wanted to think about for longer, but before they could, they were berated by the unit leaders.
