As soon as Xavier got up from his seat, the 2 men who stood behind the young woman opposite him withdrew their weapons rapidly and aimed them directly at his head. However, they didn't act until they were instructed to.

Xavier didn't even flinch as they pointed their guns at him and observed that the safety was still on both their weapons. Thanks to some explanations and training from Karim, he had become much more proficient with firearms and understood them much more. However, that didn't change the fact that against a firearm, he was helpless.

There was no way he could close the distance between them in the split second it would take them to shoot him down. So that was out of the question. But he wasn't seeking conflict anyway and merely wanted to get to a bathroom as quickly as he could.

"What's the problem? Sit down and eat."

The woman before him tried to be stern, but it was a laughable attempt at appearing intimidating. Despite that, he showed respect and went along with it.

"I am just desperate for the bathroom," he said while scratching his head.

She looked at him for a moment before calling for more armed guards to accompany him to the bathroom. And walking as quickly as he could without appearing unusual or afraid, Xavier was escorted to a bathroom nearby and outside stood the armed guards who had escorted him.

'This is going to be tough,' he thought to himself, but hesitating or waiting any longer wasn't an option.

Filling the toilet bowl with enough tissue to cover the toilet water, and opening the taps at the sink, Xavier didn't want to make any noise or make it obvious what he was about to do. He then knelt in front of the toilet before taking a deep breath.

Placing 2 fingers in his mouth and shoving them as far back as he possibly could, he tried his best not to let out any sounds. Gagging while trying to remain silent, Xavier almost choked himself before he was finally able to vomit.

Endless streams of yellowish gloop burst out of his mouth and into the toilet. It was impossible to do so silently, but it was quiet enough not to be heard over the sound of the running taps. He continued to force himself to vomit until he was merely letting out air and straining his throat even further.

Even if the food wasn't poisoned, which he doubted, it was better to be safe than sorry. While all he could do was hope that vomiting was enough and that if the food was poisoned, he had acted fast enough to not suffer from it.

But only time will tell...

-

Cleaning up the bathroom and spraying an absurd amount of air freshener so that there wasn't a lingering smell of vomit, Xavier was being overly cautious. However, he wanted to avoid taking unnecessary risks. Then, leaving the bathroom after washing his face and getting rid of any traces of what he had just done, Xavier was nonchalant and relaxed.

He couldn't let them catch on to the fact that he had just vomited out everything he had just eaten. And after being escorted back to the table he had eaten at, he received questioning looks from the young woman and the 2 men behind her.

"Was the food to your l-liking?" asked the young woman as he sat down.

Her speech was slightly slurred and she appeared to be struggling to keep her eyes open, which confirmed to him that the food truly had been tainted by something. Meanwhile, it also confirmed to him that she truly wasn't who he was looking for, otherwise they wouldn't have allowed her to also consume tainted food.

"Y-Yes, it was great," he responded, trying his best to also appear as though he was also on the verge of losing consciousness.

The next thing he knew, the woman sitting opposite him collapsed onto the table with her entire body turned limp. Xavier acted surprised, then gave it a few seconds before following suit, which was expected as he was heavier than she was.

However, despite being pretty confident in his acting and sure that he didn't give them much of a reason to doubt that he had been knocked out by the food he had consumed, the 2 men who had stood on guard still made sure to confirm.

Walking over to Xavier, one of them remained a few metres away while the other closed in on him. That way if Xavier were still conscious, the other could still shoot him down before he was able to do anything.

From their actions and the presence they gave off, Xavier was sure they were skilled and likely even on the level of the 5 elite guards that served the one-eyed demon. For that reason alone, Xavier couldn't afford to try and take them down unless he had no other choice. However, suppressing his reflexes and the urge to tense his body was much more difficult than he could ever imagine...

-

Shaking, slapping and flailing Xavier's body around, he confirmed that it was completely limp and that there wasn't much resistance. The armed man also made sure to check that Xavier's body didn't have any weapons on it.

Then, slumping Xavier's body back onto the chair he had previously been sitting on, he spoke into his earpiece.

"Body double and guest are both unconscious. It is safe for you to show yourself."

Despite hearing that, Xavier remained still and it was challenging to completely relax his body to the point he appeared unconscious, but he managed to do it. He was in a sticky situation in which whatever he did could backfire and likely cost him his life. For that reason, he wasn't planning on acting until he was sure or had no choice.

However, he never expected his hand to be forced so soon and never in his wildest dreams could he have predicted the absurd events that came to be...
