Wiping her hands from her napkin, Hazel had taken a few steps when she heard the desperate voice of the man, whom she would have taken as mute and deaf for his lack of response.

“Why? Why are you abandoning me?”

It would be a lie if she would say that she was not taken aback. Shouldn’t he be happy and grateful that she was giving him freedom? Why was he calling her with such necessity as if she was behind his demise?

Keeping her thoughts at bay, she turned with a blank face and looked down on him,

“Because you are not worth saving. I have brought you so that you can be my knight. But if you are not able to keep yourself safe, how would you take care of my security.” she tilted her head as she looked straight into his eyes and whispered,

“If you have caliber, show it! Or else you can leave. I will give you enough money that you survive for a year until you find work and a way to live!” patting his shoulders again, she was about to leave when she heard the sound of “snap!”.

She looked down only to see that he had already shredded ropes into pieces and stood up.

Her eyes widened when she noticed that after taking a step, the iron chains on her feet broke on their own as if they were made of paper.

“What do you want me to do?” Hazel blinked as she came back to her senses when she heard his cold voice. He was asking her?

Man of this caliber who could do anything. If given a chance, he could annihilate the whole army by asking her what she wanted!

She felt dizzy as she collected her thoughts but at the same time she was curious to know what he could do!

“Stand for yourself first. Don’t you think they were too cruel to you!” her hands moved to his hair that was cut too short.

Moving her fingers on his nape she shook her head, “don’t you think that long hair suited you too well. It is a pity that you lost your charm. At least, they should lose something that makes them realize their loss.” she had thought that her words would make him feel aggrieved or annoyed.

At least, he would feel bad for losing his hair, but his eyes were still hollow as if he was devoid of every emotion and did not understand what difference it would make if he would lose his hair.

But when she thought that she had to give up, he blinked and in the next second he backflipped and attacked the nape of the knight who was insulting him before.

The attack was so sudden that the knight was not able to react on time and fell on the ground with a thud.

“Aarrghh” another shriek resounded in the closed room bringing shock on everyone’s faces.

When did he even move from one target to another? No one noticed when he attacked the knight who had fallen on the floor too, holding his stomach tightly as if his liver would come out at any moment.

“Both of them had lost their vital point and would never be able to fight again. Is it enough to prove my worth or shall I kill both of them.” Hazel did not know what to say!

The man was still so calm and realized that no one would believe he had attacked both knights and injured them in less than ten seconds.

“If you were able to protect yourself then why did you not attack them before or run away?” that chains were not able to hold him at all then why was he sitting there like a boneless man.

His eyes flickered and turned a shade darker. This was the first emotion he had shown on his calm eyes this war when he opened his mouth and whispered softly,

“I thought slaves are not allowed to attack unless told by their master.”

“…” so it was her mistake? She should have paid more attention on the rules related with slaves!

Coughing the embarrassment away, she nodded her head,

“Then it was a mistake from my side. In the future, remember, you do not need to follow any such rule.

I want you to live freely here as if it is your home and work hard to gain the position of the knights so that you could pledge your loyalty to me.

If not, I have to look for someone else and then you will be forgotten in the dark. Did you understand?” The man stared at her for a second before nodding agan which brought a satisfied smile on her face.

“Now that the matter is solved,” she turned to look at both knights who were still withering in pain while rolling on the ground, “i hope that you go to train everyday.

If you face any trouble, ask for Jenna. She will bring you to me and I will take care of the matter.

If not you can also deal as you want. Do not worry about the consequences, i will handle it.” she was sure if Rafael had given her the permission to have a slave as her knight, he must have expected small brawls in the training ground.

“Yes, my lady.” with a satisfied grin on her face, she turned to leave the dark room to look for others things too when she heard him whispering again,

“Would the lady come to see me often if I would train well and do hard work to be a strong knight?” ehh! Why did she feel like a small dog who needs continuous appreciation of their master to grow well?

She couldn’t help but chuckle at her own thoughts but nodded her head with an arrogant smile on her face

“Of course, if you train well, i will come regularly to see you training and encouraging you.”
